Smoke, Fog, and Haze.

Part Four.

ALEXANDRA

I stepped into the school, Lena at my side, and I couldn’t help feel uneasy. Being a witch ain’t ever easy, and with it I have this kind of ability, I can feel when somethings wrong. I know it don’t sound like much, but my dad says one day it’ll blossom in to a full blown prophecising-type gift, or something like that. I ain’t never felt this way before at school though, my chest was tight, and it was getting harder to breathe, it felt like there were too many people here. I didn’t really understand, I knew how many people went to Abingdon High, and it sure as hell ain’t that many, 400, 450 tops. No, it wasn’t anybody regular that was giving me that feeling, it was like there was too many ofus here. It didn’t make no sense. During our small exchange with Jade and Chloe I was quiet, trying to think about why I was getting this feeling. After saying our “see ya laters” I walked to my College Calculus class, I knew there would only be about 10 people in the class, it was the most advanced math class Abingdon High offered, and ain’t nobody here that cares enough about math to try it out. I walked in to the class and that feeling I had was only intensified, I felt nauseous. I gave a small introduction to my teacher, and he showed me the seating chart so I could find my seat, I was was right, only 9 people in the class. I found my seat and sat in it nervously, the feeling was getting stronger, my skin was crawling.

“Hey.” The voice came from next to me. My knuckles turned white as I turned to face whoever it was. I looked at his face, goddamn he was beautiful. A sweet face, kind green eyes that were sparkling like some kind of jewels, blonde, sandy hair, and his muscles were very visible and they rippled underneath his white t shirt. Suddenly I felt like I couldn’t breathe.

“Witch.” I couldn’t help it, the word just slipped out of my mouth.
“What?” He tensed up. I was right. He was a fuckin witch.
“Which... area are you from darlin’? I ain’t seen your face before.” I flirted out the response, leaning back in my chair, hoping me looking relaxed would help him buy my response.
“Oh, haha.” He relaxed. He bought it. “You’re right, I’m from England.”
“How fascinatin’, whatcha doin way out here?” I asked him, I needed more info on why there was a witch here.
“Um, me and my.. my brothers we just moved out here?” He was nervous, good for me, but brothers? Were there more of them?
”Brothers huh? I ain’t got no siblings, but I have four annoying close gal friends. We’re kinda like sisters, in a special way.” I winked at him.
“Must be nice, no siblings I mean, having 3 brothers isn’t always easy.” He responded. He was feeding in to it, giving me all the answers I needed.
“It don’t sound too easy sugar.” I teased.
“Hah, I didn’t get your name.” He asked.
”Alexandra Elise Warren,” I extended my hand and he shook it, “But you can call me Lexi.”
“Niall James Horan.” He said as we shook hands.
“So listen, there’s this beginning of the year party, it’s a big bonfire out by the lake. An excuse for teens to get drunk with no one to find us, really.” I started.
“Are you inviting me, Lexi?” He was flirting back, and it only made him hotter when he raised his eyebrow and stirred up all kinda feelings in me.
“It’s open invitation, I’m merely suggesting that you come. And bring your brothers, I know my girls are just dying to meet em.” I said sweetly. Suddenly my phone buzzed in my lap. I looked at the texts, it was from our group chat.

!!! WITCH BITCH !!!

Lena: Witch bitches, quad 4th period. Code 9.
Jade: Got it.
Chloe: Got it.

I texted back.

Lexi: Got it.

Code 9 was our highest level emergency, it meant there was a threat to our safety. I wonder what it could be?

CHLOE

It was junior year, I was excited. I couldn’t help it. I was excited at the prospect of college, that is. I couldn’t wait to get outta this shitty ass town. I knew that this year was gonna be challenging, at least that’s what my parents said, but I was ready for it. After meeting with the girls I had to head to my first period, AP Lit. It was across the quad, but I ain’t mind the walk. The sunshine beating down on me felt refreshing and energizing. I stopped in my tracks and looked down, a beautiful white dove, dead at my feet. I crouched down to get a closer look at the unfortunate soul. I couldn’t see why it had died, it was like it had just dropped down out of the sky. I sighed, knowing I would be late, and I took a look around the quad, not a body in sight. I took a deep breath and put my hands above the dove, I channeled my powers through body and let them expel through my hands. I heard some crunching and then a slight chirp. I opened my eyes and looked down, the dove was alive, it looked up at me as if to say thank you befitting flying off. I stood up and watched it fly away.
“You’re welcome.” I said. I turned around and bumped into a body.
“For what?” I looked up and in front of me was the handsomest man I ever laid eyes on. Dark brown hair, dark mysterious eyes to match. Tattoos up and down his arms, tight black jeans and an even tighter shirt. I shivered. He gave me this feelin, in my stomach, it wasn’t butterflies, no it was more intense, like the feeling you get when you drop on a rollercoaster. What was he?
“Well sorry darlin, I didn’t see you there.” I said with a dry mouth.
“Didn’t think you did,” He spoke with a thick British accent, lord help me, “You smoke?” He asked before pulling one out of his pack and sparking it up.
“Darlin you can’t do that here.” I said stiffly.
“I don’t think necromancy is allowed either.” He said taking a puff. Shit. He saw me. I don’t know if I can worm my way outta this one.
“Well I am sure I ain’t got a clue what you are talking about.” I laughed stiffly and walked past him, bumping him in the shoulder. He grabbed my wrist stopping me in my tracks and making me gasp. He leaned over my shoulder and moved my hair over my shoulder,
”I see you, princess.” He whispered, Lord this man would make me an honest to God sinner. I felt his hand disappear and heard his footsteps trailing off. Before I could even process what had just happened, I felt my phone buzz.

!!! WITCH BITCH !!!

Lena: Witch bitches , quad 4th period. Code 9.
Jade: Got it.
Chloe: Got it.

Shit, what the hell happened?

@tumblruser99
I use “I been” to give it more of that southern style/southern drawl, but if it would make more sense using “Ive been” I will definitely start doing that!

If you turn "I been" into "I have been" or "I've been" it might make more sense but other than that I'm loving the idea of this story
