After getting fired two months ago, I’ve lost a lot of motivation. I haven’t been able to land a job and my income is suffering. If I don’t want to get evicted next month, I need to find a suitable career.

I sighed as I sat on my couch, grabbing my laptop. I turned it on and logged in, quickly loading the website I’m using to find a job.

I scrolled down the page, passing by all the useless offers. I found jobs of gardening, entertainment, and even an ad for an empty strip club.

I kept scrolling until my eye was caught by an alluring title. ‘Surrogate needed: High price to be paid’

I raised an eyebrow and moved my touch pad and clicked on the offer.

I was instantly met with a huge page of information. There was no photo of the person who made the offer, which was strange. But I ignored it and kept reading.

Who the offerer is:
My name is Louis and my wife’s name is Gem

What the job is:
My wife is infertile and all we dream of is being parents. A weekly paycheck of $4,000, a total of $160,000 for all 40 weeks, will be provided. You can move into our house- we have several guest rooms and we will make you feel as comfortable as possible. You can bring your pets, clothes, furniture, and anything else that’ll make you feel more comfortable.

Requirements:
You must be under 30 but over 20, in good shape, drug free, alcohol free, and as little health conditions as possible. Health conditions such as strokes, heart problems, obesity, etc. If you have any of the following conditions please, do not reply (we want healthy babies): blindness, deafness, or schizophrenia. I prefer either gingers or brunettes- my wife has red hair and I have brown hair and we want the kids to semi look like us. We require that you haven’t done drugs in the past 10 years and we don’t want you doing drugs or drinking during the pregnancy. We want to fertilize two eggs because we dream of twins; only apply if you’re okay with that. We require an email stating the answers to the questions we left below, and we require to do a drug test, std test, and a scheduled meeting.

I took a deep breath and took in the idea.It is an amazing salary and I really want the money- no I really need the money. I’m going to get evicted soon.

But am I ready to become pregnant..? I never thought I would- I mean especially without being in a relationship.

But I fit the age, health, and hair requirements- I really can’t pass this up. I closed my eyes and focused my breathing. There might already be someone chosen but it won’t hurt to try…

“If I don’t just do it I’ll chicken out,” I covered my face, "It is a really good offer," I said, letting my hands fall and biting my lip.
