Chapter 8: Bubba and Sissy
Sage’s POV
BUZZ-BUZZ-BUZZ-BU~
“Hello?” I answered my phone sleepily.
“Hey, did I wake you up?” Taylor’s voice woke me all the way up.
“Uh yea.” I stuttered.
We hadn’t talked in almost a month because he was siding with Shawn on everything that happened. Shawn and I have been starting to get along and see each other once in a while but I didn't like that Taylor was trying to please Shawn by siding with him.
“Are you busy today?” He asked as Harry started to wake up next to me.
“I think so, why?” I didn't have any plans and I knew it.
“I wanted to go out to lunch with you. I’m in the area and wanted to see you.” He seemed nervous.
“Well, I don’t know what we’re doing today. We had some plans I don’t know what we’re doing.” That was all a lie, I just didn't want to see him.
“Oh.” Was all he said.
“Yea, I’ll let you know when I figure it out.” I looked at Harry while he covered his face with one of the other pillows.
“Okay.” He sounded hurt but I was still mad.
I didn't say anything else before hanging up. Harry laying on his stomach with the pillow over his head. I set my phone down and rolled over so I could look over at him. He didn't move when I took the pillow off of his face so I started to rub his back with one of my hands. He started moving and rolled over.
“Good morning.” I said quietly.
“Good morning gorgeous.” He smiled at me and moved up so his back was against the headboard. “That was Taylor huh?”
“Yea, he wants to have lunch with me.” I sighed sitting up too. “What should I do?”
“You should go. He may have made you mad but he’ll always be your brother and he loves you.” He wrapped his arm around me while I rested my head on his shoulder.
“But it’s really annoying that he’s sidi-“
“I know Sage but really, you should just push past it and see him because you’ve probably upset him too.” He started rubbing my shoulder.
“I know I know.” I sighed picking up my phone. “But I really don’t want to do it.”
“Come on babe, while you call him I’ll make coffee.” He smiled down at me with that “you know it’s the right thing to do” look in his eyes.
“Fine.” I sighed leaning up to kiss him before dialing Taylor back.
Sage’s POV
“So what’s up with you and Harry? You guys still good?” Taylor asked as we sat down on the swings at our childhood park.
“Yea, we’re good. All of them are settled in.” I shrugged.
“Oh yea, I forgot about that. I miss them.” He sounded upset or like he was hiding something.
“They miss you too.” I stood up and stretched. “I really should be getting back.”
“Do you really have to go? You just got here.” He pouted standing up.
“I got here like 2 hours ago.” I was reaching my exploding point. “I need to talk to you about something that I cant hold in anymore. I hate that you side with Shawn on everything. Since he left, you’ve talked shit and now that he’s back you're trying to please him and it bugs me. I don’t need you to become a fake in my life.”
“I only agreed because he was insanely drunk and we both know he’s an angry drunk. You of all people should know that I think he was a complete asshole. He has changed and I want to get to know him again. The next time I saw him, I told him how I really felt and he apologized for putting me in the position.” He looked down at the ground and then at me again.
“I’m sorry for doing it.”
“It’s okay. I didn't even think of it like that.” I shook my head and stepped toward him. “I’m sorry I didn't say something sooner.”
“I understand why you didn't.” He wrapped his arms around me. “I love you sis.”
“I love you too bubba.” I mumbled into his chest.
When we let go of each other, we looked at each other and started walking around again.
“What’re you doing this summer?” He asked as we neared the cars.
“The guys and I rented a cabin up in the mountains for part of June and then just Harry and I rented a boat for part of July.” I shrugged pulling me keys from my pocket. “And I wanted to plan something for all of us to go camping in August.”
“All of us as in…?”
“The guys, you, Cleo, me and maybe even Shawn depending on how things are going.” He looked surprised when I said Shawn. “Yes, even him but only if things are okay.”
“That sounds fun.” He smiled grabbing his keys.
“I’ll call you in a few days to work out plans for us to hangout.”
“Okay. Bye sis.” He smiled.
“Bye bub.” I leaned up and kissed his cheek.
BUZZ-BUZZ-BUZZ-BU~
“Hello?” I answered my phone sleepily.

“Yea, he wants to have lunch with me.” I sighed sitting up too. “What should I do?”
“You should go. He may have made you mad but he’ll always be your brother and he loves you.” He wrapped his arm around me while I rested my head on his shoulder.

Sage’s POV
“So what’s up with you and Harry? You guys still good?” Taylor asked as we sat down on the swings at our childhood park.
