MAYA

Harry and I sat in comfortable silence during the entire first movie. Sitting next to each other, under the blankets, hot chocolate in hand, while the rain poured outside. However, just as I was about to start Chamber of Secrets, the lights flickered, and then the lights went out, meaning the electricity was out. Damn it. It was dark, there was no sunlight due to the rain, which was probably also responsible for the black out.

“Um Harry, it’s dark, and I don’t have my contacts in. I-“
“You can’t see can you?” He asked.
“Yup, guess I didn’t eat enough carrots as a child” I shrugged, not that it would matter, I doubt he could see me. I felt a hand on my waist, and I couldn’t help but jump.
“Easy” He whispered, “Do you have any candles or torches?”
“Um, torches?” I asked what I think was face.
”Flashlights” He laughed.
“Right um, the study, flashlights are probably in the study, candles in the kitchen.” I answered, I was still painfully aware of his hand on my waist, it felt like my skin was on fire.
“Okay” He whispered, and he suddenly felt closer, his breath on my neck gave me goosebumps, “Let’s get the flashlights first.” He began guiding me through the room with his hand still rested in its same position.
“Ow fuck!” I yelped, “I stubbed my toe on the couch!”
“Okay here,” He laughed,”take my hand.” I grabbed his hand with mine and suddenly he was guiding me again, arm now around my waist, hand in mine.
“Okay we’re in the office, where should I check?” He asked.
“Check the desk drawers” I answered.
“Okay, stay here.” I felt his arm leave my waist and I suddenly felt so cold. I forgot that with the electricity, the heat went out too, and it was freezing in my entirely stone and tile house.
“Boo!” Harry appeared in front of me with the flash light shining on his face.
“Jesus Christ!” I jumped back, “you scared the shit out of me!”
“It was kinda funny.” He chuckled, “Let’s get those candles lit”.

I rolles my eyes and made my way to the kitchen. Once we had the entire downstairs rooms mostly well lit, we stood across from each other in the kitchen, not even talking, just looking at each other. I felt a chill down my spine and rubbed my arms to keep myself warm.
“Are you cold?” He asked me quietly.
“Yes” I responded, my voice suddenly shaky.
“Do you have any carpeted rooms?”
“My bedroom.”
“Do you want to go there? You’ll be warmer.” He said, he sounded nervous. I nodded and led him up the stairs, we both had quiet a few candles in each hand. We set them up in my room until it was well lit, and it looked so cozy. I stood next to him, staring at my bed, still slightly shivering.
“You should, um get under the duvet. And I should probably go.” He said, mumbling. He was ready to turn around and walk out of the room and when I reached out and without hesitation, grabbed his hand. He looked down at our hands, and back up at me,
“Could you stay with me?” I asked, gulping down the sudden lump in my throat. He looked down at our hands again, and nodded at me. I sighed with relief. I didn’t want to stay alone, truly, I would’ve even felt better if my mom and Shawn were home, which they would be in a few hours, I need to remember that. I moved slowly towards my bed, and he followed at half my speed. I slid underneath the covers, resting on my right side, he did the same thing, resting on his left. We were face to face, only a few inches between us. I felt this crazy feeling, something I hadn’t felt since I first saw Josh. Were these...butterflies? I shivered again.
“You’re still cold.” He said quietly. I just nodded.
“Here,” He said gesturing that I turn around and let him spoon me. “Get closer.”
I slid over into his embrace, his chest pressed against my back, his arm draped over me. I felt so warm, so safe, I could live in this moment forever.

HARRY

Maya fell asleep in my arms that night. It was the first time a girl ever had. And it felt right. It felt so incredibly right. This is exactly how I wanted Maya. Sweatpants, cute, sleepy little face. Lulled to sleep by me. Maya Hart was doing something to my heart. She made it beat in a crazy way, and she made me feel things that I had never felt before, things that went beyond lust, genuine human emotions. I hadn’t felt this in forever, and I wanted to drown in it. I wanted to drown in Maya. Suddenly I heard the door open downstairs, and two American voices talking, a male and a female. Her mom and dad. Shit.
“Hey Maya.” I whispered as sweetly as I could.
“What?” She grumbled, half asleep. Damn, she was so adorable.
“Baby, I think your parents are home.” I whispered to her.
“So what? Just stay the night, you can leave in the morning.” She grumbled, she wasn’t all the way awake, she didn’t really know what she was saying right?
”Don’t leave.” She whispered, “Please.... don’t.. lea” And she was asleep again. As much as I knew I should leave. I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I wanted to, no I need to, I needed to stay here, with her in my arms. And that’s exactly what I did.
