Somebody to You

“I hate the fact that we’re in our twenties about to watch Where the Wild Things Are,” Eloise said as she came and sat down next to me with the popcorn. It’s the same night as the contest and all the boys and girls are spending the night tonight since tomorrow we’re making a trip to Gabe’s grandparents’ lake house for the day and then we’re coming back on Sunday.

“But Mark Ruffalo is in it. That should more than make up for it,” I pointed out to her.

“No he’s not,” She said.

“OMG. You’ve never noticed? He’s the mom’s boyfriend,” I exclaimed and her eyes widened.

“Hurry up! We have a movie to watch,” She shouted to the others as I laughed and checked my Instagram. It’s been a couple of hours since I posted the picture that Harry and I took earlier today. He’s commented on it, but I still haven’t received a message from him trying to figure out a day or time yet.

“Staring at your phone won’t make him message you faster,” Blake said bumping my foot as he walked past to sit on the other side of Elle.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said to him and he laughed.

“He’s right Eliza. You’ve been checking it every ten minutes since he commented on your post. Let it happen naturally bug,” Clayton said sitting down on the ground in front of the couch.

“You’re supposed to be on my side,” I pouted and he rolled his eyes. Soon the others had changed into their pajamas and had finally joined us. I pressed play on the movie and cuddled into my blanket. Half way through the movie Gabe, Elle, and Clayton were all asleep. Blake and Clo gave up on watch the movie and moved into the kitchen to talk about their theatre project while I just laid there entranced in the movie. I loved the book when I was younger and when the movie came out I feel in love with it. Just as it was getting to the heart wrenching part my phone buzzed alerting me that I had a DM on twitter from Harry. I of course fumbled and quickly opened it.

“Oh. my. Gosh,” I whispered in excitement. I locked my phone and laid back down on the couch, but this time I was not focusing on the movie. I was focusing on the thought of possibly singing a duet with one of my favorite people ever.

“Looks like you guys are having fun,” My dad said as he entered the living room and looked around the room.

“Total rager,” I replied with a shrug.

“I know I say this everyday, but I really am proud of you kid. Not only for winning the contest, but for who you have become over the years,” He said to me before heading into the kitchen, most likely to get a bottle of water. When he walked back through he kissed the top of my head and said good night. The last thing I remember is K.W. saying, “Don’t go. I’ll eat you up I love you…” and then I was out.

“Elizabeth Delilah Maine wake up!” I heard a female voice shout as I was being poked all over and I just groaned before turning my back to them and nuzzling into the couch and my blanket.

“Wake up! You need to check twitter,” The same voice shouted. I was too out of it to even process whether it was Clover or Eloise.

“Go away,” I said.

“All the five former members of One Direction followed you on twitter and Harry mentioned you!” The voice exclaimed and that caused me to instantly open my eyes.

“You’re not lying?” I asked not moving from my spot.

“I’d never lie about something like this,” Clover said. I reached for my phone and sure enough I had notifications from twitter. All the five former member had followed me and Harry’s tweet was just congratulating me on winning the contest.

“You’re basically famous now,” Eloise said and I rolled my eyes.

“Yeah, right. We should get ready to go,” I said to the two of them setting my phone down and then heading over to my closet to pick out leggings and one of Gibson’s sweatshirts that I had stolen the last time I visited him. I quickly changed in the closet and then put my hair into a messy bun. When I came out Eloise and Clover were looking at me phone and I reached between the pair and took it from them.

“I thought you were supposed to be getting ready,” I said to them as they pouted at me.

“Yeah, well now we will,” Eloise said standing up and walking into my bathroom. Clover walked out of my room and down the hall to the bathroom there to get ready. Meanwhile I took my phone and headed downstairs. As I was pouring myself a glass of milk my phone dinged alerting me that I had yet another twitter notification, but this time it was a DM.
