Beautiful Mess

“Happy happy anniversary babes!” I shouted as I shook Harry awake. It’s July 31st and it’s mine and Harry’s five year anniversary. We started dating when I was fifteen and he was nineteen. Of course there was a lot of press coverage of our age gap, but neither of us cared and we still didn’t care.

“Stop Annieeee,” He whined putting his pillow over his face and I sighed before continuing to shake him awake.

“But we’re going to Disney,” I shouted at him in full excitement. Months ago we made a plan to go to Disney with my sisters, Niall, and Juniper. My sisters’ flight leaves at midnight tonight so it’s my last day with them.

“Five more minutes Annie,” He said and I sighed before getting out of bed and headed down the hall. Last night I fell asleep in one of his shirts that hits me at my knees since I’m 5’ 2” and he’s 6’ tall.

“Good morning,” I said to Marisol as I passed her on the couch. She’s an early riser and she enjoys her coffee so she’s enjoying that. Meanwhile I’m going to put apple juice in a mug and pretend that I’m an adult.

“Do you have your outfit picked out yet?” She asked and I shook my head.

“I’m sure it won’t take me too long to figure out. It’s only Disney after all,” I replied and she just shook her head. Yesterday the girls and I went and got our nails done and it was relaxing especially since it was leading up to today’s business. Soon Luna was in the kitchen as well and she got a glass of milk.

“We should probably start to get ready huh?” I stated and they agreed. I went back into mine and Harry’s room to find him still asleep. I sighed before shaking him again.

“If you wake up now we can shower together,” I said knowing that he loves it when we shower together. Some say using his weakness for my own gain is wrong, but in my eyes we’re both getting what we want.

“Seriously this time?” He asked looking at me and I nodded my head smiling at him before walking into the bathroom. I closed the door behind me, but I didn’t lock it. I turned on the shower and then got undressed before stepping in. Five minutes later I felt arms wrap around my waist and a kiss was placed on my shoulder.

“My favorite way to start my day,” Harry said and I chuckled.

“Great! Now that you’re here you can wash my hair for me,” I said turning and looking at him so I could hand him my shampoo.

“Or I have another idea, but I’ll wash your hair after we’re done,” He said. Before I could question him he crashed his lips onto mine and then he picked me up and encouraged me to wrap my legs around his waist. I did so and well you can see where the rest went.

“Come with me real quick,” Harry said pulling me apart from the group. We’ve now been at Disney World for three hours. It’s currently five and we weren’t sure if we wanted to spend the extra ten hours here for the fireworks.

“Where are we going?” I questioned him and he just winked at me which confused me even more. I looked back at my sisters and our friends and they all just shrugged. Of course they wouldn’t know what he had planned. When he plans something he does it on his own and nobody ever knows. When we got to Cinderella’s castle he waited for everyone else to catch up with us before we entered the castle.

“What are you doing? I thought we couldn’t go in without having dinner reservations,” I said stopping in my tracks. I love Harry, but I’m not going to break rules with him at Disney.

“Don’t worry. I was able to pull a couple strings. Now hurry up,” He said and I nodded my head before following him to a ballroom. It was completely empty, but music was playing. Soon we were approached my Cinderella and Prince Charming. I stood in the middle of the pair and had my picture taken. Once it was done I turned around so I could move out the way so one of the other people in our group could get their picture taken with the couple. When I turned around Harry was in front of me on one knee and my brain couldn’t process any of it.

“Annie Stella-Rose Martin. Today I took you back to the same location where I knew I first loved you. This same spot is the one where I asked you to be my girlfriend. I wanted it to be the same spot I asked you to be my wife. Annie Rose, my star, will you please become Annie Stella-Rose Styles?” Harry asked and I let out a little chuckle as I struggled to hold back the tears that wanted to make their way out.

“I’d love that more than anything,” I said now just letting them fall freely. He stood up and took the ring out of the green box he was holding and slipped it onto my ring finger before hugging me as tight as he could.

“I love you so much,” He said before kissing me.

“I love you too. Oh my gosh,” I said still not over the fact that I was now officially engaged to my best friend. Not only do I get to share forever with him, but I also get to share a last name. It wasn’t until I heard a camera click that I remembered that there were others with us. I looked and both Niall and Marisol were holding up phones, while Luna was taking pictures on her phone.

“Congratulations,” my dad and mom cheered as Marisol handed me the phone.

“Thank you! Did you guys know about this?” I asked and they both nodded their heads. It was the movement that made the tears streaming down their faces glisten and that made me cry even more.

“We’ll let you go before we cause anymore tears, but we love you both,” My dad said before they hung up. Niall had handed Harry his phone and I walked over and saw that he was talking to Anne and Gemma. When I hugged him he wrapped his free arm tightly around me and I rested my head on his chest.

“Just think once you’re married there will officially be three Styles women who are officially better than Harry,” Gemma said making me laugh and Harry groan in annoyance.

“Even on the day I get engaged she won’t let me be the better Styles,” Harry said pouting and I rolled my eyes.

“I just want to say I’m happy for you both and can’t wait until you’re both in my house next week,” Anne said and I agreed with her. We quickly said goodbye and then Harry handed Niall his phone back.

“As much as I love you both, because I do, I want to go ride the teacups,” Luna said breaking us out of our trance.

“Then tea cups it is,” I said hugging my little sister. We all said our goodbyes to Cinderella and Prince Charming before heading out and making our way to my sister’s favorite ride. We continued to ride the rides and walk around for another three hours before deciding to go back to the hotel. When we got back Marisol and Luna went into their shared room to make sure they packed everything. Niall and Juniper went to their room while Harry and I went to ours.

“Did you have a good day?” He asked me.

“It was the best day of my life. Did you have a good day?”

“It was also the best day of my life. The woman of my dreams agreed to marry me. What more could I want?” He said joining me in bed and wrapping his arms around my waist and resting his head on my chest. I ran my hands through his hair and we just sat like this in silence.

“When do you want to tell people?” He asked me.

“I think we should tell the others first before posting it. So as soon as we tell them we can post about it. Which leads to my question, can we tell them right now?” I asked and he laughed.

“Whatever you want to do Annie,” He said. I reached over to the table where my phone was and scrolled to Liam’s number and began to facetime him. When he answered he was holding Bear and Cheryl was sitting next to him with her head on his shoulder smiling at me.

“Stells! How are you?” Liam exclaimed.

“Pretty amazing actually. How is my god-son?” I asked him. Over the years Liam and I have gotten really close so he made myself and Louis the god-parents of Bear.

“He’s doing pretty swell. He’s pretty content right now,”

“That’s good! Harry and I actually have something to tell you guys,” I said as Harry took my phone away from me so he could hold it to show the both of us.

“What’s up?” Liam questioned. I didn’t say a word all I did was hold up my left hand and Cheryl let out a gasp.

“Oh my gosh! That’s so exciting congratulations!” She said, but we all could tell Liam was confused.

“We’re engaged!” Harry shouted and this time Liam gasped.

“That’s amazing! I’m so happy for you guys. You’re honestly so perfect for each other,” He said. Harry and I thanked them both and we stayed on the phone with them for a little while longer using the time to catch up before hanging up.

“We’re about to uber to the airport,” I heard Marisol say from the other side of the door. I looked at the time and it was 9:30. This is the part of the day that I’ve been dreading. I’m super close with all of my siblings so having them leave is ripping out my heart.

“Coming,” I said as Harry stood up and then helped me up. We walked out into the common area and I instantly attacked both of my sisters into hugs.

“I don’t want you go,” I said to them as the water works began again for the second time today.

“I don’t either, but school calls,” Luna said and I nodded my head. I held onto them for a little while longer and then we parted. Once the hotel door closed behind them I held onto Harry and he just let me cry. I honestly don’t know why he wants to marry me when I’m clearly an emotional mess, but then again I don’t really want to question it.

“Come on love. We should facetime Louis and Eleanor, then after them Lou, and then James, and then Harvey and Ben,” He said referring to the people the two of us were really close to. Of course we have more friends, but we aren’t super close with them or the time difference wasn’t right so. When we got back in the room he sat down on the bed and then I sat in between his legs and rested against him. First we called Lou so that we could catch her before she put Lux to sleep so that Lux could share in the news. We then called Louis and Eleanor. After them we called my theatre dad, Mr. Harvey Fierstein to tell him the news and his reaction to it was honestly the best. After Harvey we called Ben Platt since I had gotten really close to Ben when we were younger and performing together. We saved James for last because we knew his reaction would top all of the others.

“Hey guys,” He said smiling as his face appeared on the screen.

“Hey James we have something we need to tell you,” I said and he nodded his head.

“This beauty is going to be Mrs. Styles. We’re engaged,” Harry said and James’ mouth just dropped open in shock and this made me laugh.

“No way,” he said in disbelief and I held up my left hand to show him the ring.

“It’s official,” I said.

“That’s amazing. I am truly happy for you two! This is amazing I want to be a page boy,” He said.

“Of course mate,” Harry replied and I just rolled my eyes. The two then got on a completely different topic so I left the room to go see what Juniper and Niall were up to. When I walked into the living room area of our suit I found little baby shoes with mickey and minnie holders holding up a sonogram. I let out a scream and all three other members in the suit came running out of the two rooms.

“Oh my god, are you okay. Are you hurt?” Harry asked setting the phone down that still had James’ face on it.

“Look, look, look,” I said pointing at the shows and sonogram and Harry’s eyes got wide.

“Are you really?” He asked me and I shook my head before pointing to Juniper who held a devilish grin.

“Are you really babe?” Niall asked her and she nodded her head. Niall instantly picked her up and spun her around while Harry shoed James what we all had seen.

“You two had a big day today I see,” James said referring to Niall and Harry.
