When You Love Someone

“Come on Mila,” I said as I helped James get ready for today. We’re all going to the beach and even though the twins are excited they’re running all over the place making it hard for me to actually get them out of the house and into the car.

“I think you have a runner,” Thristan said laughing as he walked into the room carrying Mila while she tried to squirm out of his arms while she’s having a giggle fit.

“Of course,” I said with a shrug, “Can you hold onto her while I finish getting James ready?” I asked and he agreed to before leaving the room and I’m assuming he went downstairs.

“Mummy, mummy, mummy! We going to the beach,” James exclaimed jumping up and down after I put his shirt on.

“I know buddy. Now let’s go downstairs so we can go,” I picked him up along with the beach bag that I had packed and made my way downstairs. Once at the bottom my dad came and took James from me and walked outside. I followed behind him and got in the car containing my daughter, Thristian, and Cody.

“So is he meeting us there?” Cody asked me as he began to drive.

“Yeah. I figured he is their dad after all and it’s their birthday,” I said and he nodded his head.

“Well if he causes you any trouble just find one of us and we’ll take care of him. Anything you don’t want to deal with, we will,” Cody said and I nodded my head before I turned and looked over at Mila who was in her own little world staring out of the window. When we finally got to the beach my dad, Cody, Alex, and Paul took all three kids out into the water while the rest of us set up our spot. Once it was set up I laid down on my towel and everyone, but Thristian went to join the others in the water.

“I was thinking that later tonight the two of us go on a date,” He said after a while of us just laying on our towels.

“I would, but I have to prep for the disney trip and I also have to wrap their presents,”

“How about we go out to dinner before hand, we can even invite Piper and Logan, and then when we get back we can leave those two to do whatever. I’ll help you prep for tomorrow as well as wrapping their presents,” He said. It would be nice to go out on a date since ever other prospect I had ran as soon as they found out about the twins.

“Fine, but it’s going to be a long night then,”

“It’s not like we didn’t stay up forever together last night,” he pointed out and I nodded my head since that was a good point. At some point during our hour long conversation he joined me on my towel. We were only brought out of our world when someone above us cleared their throats. Thristian and I looked up and there was Harry.

“Hey,” I said looking up at him.

“Where are the kids?” He asked me looking around.

“They’re in the water with everyone else. I’ll go get them if you want me to,” I said as I stood up. Thristian stood up as well and placed a hand lightly on my arm.

“No you’re fine. Let them have fun. I’ll go find them,” He said setting his bag down. He then took off his sandals and shirt before heading out into the water. I stood there watching him go while Thristian put his arm around my shoulders. A couple of times Harry would turn to look back, but I just shrugged it off and sat back down. Instead of moving back to his towel he sat back down on mine, but I honestly didn’t mind it.

“Seems friendly,” Thristian said and I laughed.

“He is. We just didn’t work out, and that might be for the best,”

“Maybe,” Thristian trailed off leaving us in silence. Since he was on my towel I decided to lay down on his towel, but rest my head on his lap and he played with my hair.

“So this date. Where are you taking me?”

“Not sure yet. I was going to talk to Logan o find the best local spot,” he said and I nodded my head. At some point I had fallen asleep with my head on his lap because when I woke up the kids were in front of us building a sandcastle with Cody and Harry.

“Ahh sleeping beauty finally woke up,” Piper said winking at me and I rolled my eyes before kicking her gently.

“Shut up. How long have I been asleep?” I asked.

“About two and a half hours. I’m just glad we’re under the umbrella and not in the sun,” Thristian said as I sat up and crossed my legs.

“So I heard we have a hot double date tonight,” Piper said once Thristian went and joined Cody, Harry, and the kids in their sandcastle quest.

“That we do. Have they told you where we’re going?”

“No clue whatsoever,”

“Great,”

So sorry for a super long time without updating! I'm done with school for the summer and I believe I'm going to update this book every Monday! Also sorry this is short, but I felt you guys deserved a chapter no matter what!
