Chapter 26: You are my sunshine
Carly’s POV
I shut the bus door behind me quickly before slipping the dark-framed glasses on. Luckily, I had my phone and headphones on me so I plugged in and started walking away from everyone. My mind raced, the memories of what just happened relaying. Every emotion came over me as I needed the building. I took a seat on the edge on the stage and looked down at my hands. They were shaking terribly as another rush of emotions hit me. I set my head in my hands and my elbows on my thighs, trying to stop shaking.
I jumped when someone sat down next to me. Rubbing my eyes, I looked at the pale, blue eyed boy next to me. His arm wrapped around my shoulders, pulling me into his chest while I cried again. I felt myself being lifted before feeling stiff muscles below me. A steady heartbeat rang in my eyes as it pressed against Niall’s toned chest, his hand rubbed my back gently. I pulled at my headphones, threw them to the side and rested back against him.
“~You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are grey
You’ll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don’t take my sunshine away…~” He continued until he finished.
Somehow his voice calmed me down, completely stopping the tears from forming. I leaned away from him so I could look up at him, his blue eyes seemed to sparkle as he pushed my sunglasses up so they sat on my head.
“I know that a lot has happened but never lose that beautiful smile.” His words made my cheeks flush. “You two will work it out.”
“I doubt that…he doesn’t trust me.” Saying that should have brought tears to my eyes but it didn't.
“I know but that’s only because you mean so much to him. Have you ever noticed that he does everything he can to keep you smiling? That’s because he’s fallen for you, you're his weakness and when something threatens that, he freaks out.” Niall was probably right.
“He’s mine too Niall. I Knowing that he doesn’t trust me breaks my heart. I’d never do anything to hurt him because I cant stand the thought of ever waking up without him by my side again.” The words came tumbling out. “This week has killed me.”
“I know. I’ve heard you crying. Just fix things with him, you know that your love is real.” He gently pushed the hair away from my face.
“Thank you Niall.” I leaned forward and kissed his cheek.
He nodded and watched me stand up. Paul’s laugh rang out from a few feet away, my eyes shot to him. Him and all the guys were close to the stage, I looked at Harry, his eyes were covered by sunglasses while he walked next to Louis.
“Hey, can I borrow Niall for a bit? We have to go get ready.” Paul asked as Niall stood by my side.
“Sure.” I mumbled looking at Niall.
He leaned down and kissed my cheek lightly.
“Talk to him before we go on.” He whispered.
I was sitting on the floor playing with the laces to my red Vans while I waited for the guys to come out of their dressing room. A door creaked and my eyes shot toward it. Louis came into sight first, his skinny jeans tight to his legs and collared shirt buttoned up. I stood up and looked into his eyes.
“You okay?” He asked in a worried tone.
“I’m fine, where’s Harry?” My words were rushed.
“In there. He’ll be out in a minute.” His answer was mumbled as the rest of the band came out.
They smiled at me but didn't stop to talk. Louis joined them, leaving me to stand alone. I waited impatiently until the door opened again. Harry stepped out in a pair of black skinny jeans, a loose tank top and a bandana holding his hair back. Our eyes met, I read his face and shuttered at the pain his eyes held.
“Hey.” I caught his attention, he stopped and looked at me. “Can we talk for a second?”
“Here?”
“I don’t care, I just need to say something.” He nodded for me to continue, the knot in my stomach growing. “I love you and I owe you so much. You said that I have your heart and honestly, you have mine. I never want to wake up without you again. Just thinking about life without you, makes me want to cry. I get why you don’t trust me.” His eyes were wide. “I’m sorry for not saying I love you back, please forgive me.”
He was quiet but didn't look mad. I watched his eyes lighten as the crowd cheered for 5SOS.
“I love you too Carly, I forgive you. You make me so happy. Waking up without you is so unnatural and tortuous, I never want to do that again.” He stepped toward me, now less than a foot away from me. “Please never make me wake up alone again.”
“I wont.” I breathed out, a small smile pushed onto his cheeks.
His arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me to his chest and I wrapped mine around his neck. Our bodies were pulled together, there was no room between us as a tear fell from my eyes.
“I love you Carly.” His hot breath against my neck gave me chills.
“I love you too Harry.” The tear fell from my eyes as a smile covered my face.
