Chapter 20: The Past
Carly’s POV
I walked out of the bathroom running my fingers through my freshly straightened hair. Harry was sitting in one of the recliners, playing video games with Louis, Liam and Niall. I looked around but didn't see Zayn, when I turned around I saw one of the doors behind me was open. None of them even noticed me so I went to the back room. I knocked on the door before walking in. Zayn was sitting on one of the couches, glaring outside through a tinted window.
“Zayn, are you okay?” I asked quietly as I sat down on the other end of the couch.
“Yea.” He wasn’t even slightly believable; he sniffled, wiping his cheeks with his sleeves.
“What happened?” I was hoping that Perrie had changed her mind about it all but when I saw him crying, I had no doubt that it was her.
“Perrie broke up with me.” He looked down at his knees while pulling them to his chest and a tear slid from his eyes.
“I’m so sorry Zayn.” I shook my head as my anger started to build.
“It’s okay, it isn't your fault.” He shook his head and stood up wiping his cheeks dry. “Can you do me a favor?”
“Sure.”
“Can you distract me for a little bit?” He seemed really nervous while I stood up.
“Of course.” I smiled and tried passing him to the door but he stood in my way. “Come on.”
He shook his head again and set his hands on my hips before leaning down to kiss me. It took me a second to get out of being shocked but when I did, I pushed his body away from mine.
“What the hell!” I asked loudly as I pulled his hands off my hips. “What do you think you're doing?”
“I thought you wanted me back? You're always doing stuff for me and spending time alone with me.” He looked genuinely hurt but he set his hands on my hips again.
“Zayn, stop it.” I pried his hands off of me. “I love Harry and I would never do anything to hurt him.”
“So you don’t want me back?” He grabbed my waist.
“No, I don’t want you back. Now get your hands off of me.” I pushed them off of me again and walked out of the room.
I pushed a believably content look on my face while I went to grab a bottle of water from the kitchen. They all were still sitting in the recliners as I passed them. When I came back, the game was paused and they were looking at me.
“What's up?” I asked, playing with the bottle of water.
“Wanna play?” Liam offered me his controller.
“No thanks, I’m gonna go take a nap.” I shook my head and kept walking.
“Okay.” They all pretended to pout when I looked back at them.
“Bye guys.” I laughed a little bit and then walked to Harry’s bunk; his bed was comfier and I felt safe in it.
What should I do now? I climbed into the bunk and set my phone next to me while I laid on my back after closing the curtain to the bunk. I know that I need to tell Harry but I don’t know how. How do you tell your boyfriend that his best friend tried to kiss you? It just doesn’t make sense to me. And how did he get that crazy idea? Harry and I aren’t exactly shy about saying I love you. I’ll tell him toni-
“Carly?” A soft voice asked as someone laid down on the bunk across from me, That’s Zayn. “I really like you and don’t want to lose you to Harry.”
I rolled my eyes and stayed quiet. Maybe he’ll go away if I ignore him long enough.
“I know you're awake. I remember how long it takes for you to fall asleep especially when you're upset.” Zayn pulled the curtain back so I rolled over.
“Leave me alone.” I pulled the blankets up over my body.
“No, hear me out. I rea-“
“I heard you but none of it changes anything.” I rolled back over to face him. “I love Harry and will never do anything to screw up what I have with him. I’m sorry but what we had is over, it has been for a while. Now can you leave me alone?” I glared at him and saw that he looked insanely mad.
“I guess so.” He frowned and shut the curtain.
