Chapter 2: You okay Cupcake?
Louis’s POV
I followed Carly through the narrow isles of the board shop. Zayn was outside on the phone, arguing with Perrie while we attempted to shop. Carly sat down on the floor in the corner with a sigh. I walked over and sat down next to her.
“You okay Cupcake?” I looked over at her.
“Yea.” She wrapped her arms around her knees and looked at me before dropping her head. “All he does is argue with her when we go out. It’s annoying and it sucks because he doesn’t even look happy anymore.”
“I see that too but that’s his relationship to deal with, not us.” She nodded while I took a deep breath. “Honestly, I don’t think it will last much longer. Neither of them are happy.”
“What do you mean?”
“Perrie talked to El… I think she wants out.” I shouldn’t have said that but I know that she really cared.
She shook her head slightly and then saw Zayn walking to us with a frown on his face. I stood up and helped her up before looking at him. He slipped his hands into his pockets and looked at the floor.
“Do we need to go home?” Carly asked holding back her attitude.
“Nope.” He shook his head.
Carly’s POV
Zayn shook his head and looked at Louis as he answered his phone. He walked away and with his phone to his ear. I leaned my back against the wall and played with my belt loops.
“Wanna go skating today?” Zayn wasn’t acting right and I was blaming it on the Perrie situation.
“Sure.” I shrugged seeing Louis come back. “You wanna skate with us?”
“I cant, I actually have plans with El tonight.” He smiled smugly.
“Okay,” I turned to Zayn, “I guess it’s just us.”
“Fine with me.” He shrugged looking at Louis. “Can we ride back to the house with you?”
Louis nodded before leading the way back to the car. I climbed in next to him and buckled up while Zayn sat behind me. Zayn’s phone rang again before he sighed and answered it.
“Hey.” He answered quietly while Louis and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes. “No, I have plans.” He paused. “With Carly.” He almost spat out my name. “I don’t care, I’m have plans with her and I’m not going to cancel them.” He hung up and set his phone down with a clunk.
We rode the rest of the way in silence. Louis turned on the radio on so the car wasn’t full of awkward silence. I could hear Louis singing along to the song when I put my feet up on the dashboard.
When we finally got home, El met us at the door and was rushed outside with Louis. Zayn walked over to the living room and sat down next to Niall on the couch.
“Hey babe.” I wrapped my arms around Harry’s waist as he leaned against the doorway to the kitchen.
“Hi.” He kissed my forehead and looked down at me. “What are you so happy about?”
“Zayn and I are going skating.” I shrugged letting go of him.
“Oh.” He looked over at Zayn who was obviously still upset. “You sure he wants to?”
“He offered.” I mumbled looking back into his green eyes. “I have to change.” I kissed his cheek and walked away to my room.
I pulled on my light wash shorts and slipped my beach tank on. Hopping around the room, I put my Vans on and let my hair out of its messy bun to have my curls fall on my back. I walked to the bathroom and took out my contacts so I could wear my glasses. When I came back out of my room and walked into the living room, Zayn was sitting alone with his hands in his lap.
“You ready?” He asked watching me walk into the room.
“Yup.” I nodded and he stood up.
