Chapter 12: Picking up Perrie
Carly’s POV
I looked around the busy area backstage and saw Zayn sitting alone on the stairs, away from everyone. I decided to go sit with him so I got up from my seat next to Harry and walked over to him.
“What’s up Zany-cakes?” I asked sitting down next to him.
“Perrie’s flying out here tomorrow.” Zayn announced to me shyly.
“Oh ?” I said questioningly.
“I just wanted to warn you before she gets here.” He didn't seem to excited for her to come out her but I didn't want to have that conversation especially not here. “Can you do me a favor?”
“Sure.” I shrugged and looking into his eyes.
“Will you pick her up from the airport tomorrow morning? I have to go in early for last minute rehersals and she lands at 9:00.” I could tell that he didn't want to ask but I already knew I had to say yes.
“Yea, I’ll pick her up.” I looked down at my feet that were underneath me.
“Thank you Carly, I know that you don’t like her and this situation is fucked up but I want to give this a chance with her.” He started tapping his foot as he talked.
“I understand Zayn, I support you on whatever decision you make.” I looked up at him and then at Liam who was standing up now.
“Hey!” He raised his hand trying to get everyone to focus on him. “We all should go back to hotel because we need to get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow.”
We all agreed in mumbles and started to get our stuff together. I stood up and helped Zayn up too before walking back over to where Harry was and got my purse.
-NEXT MORNING-
I stood in the middle of the airport with my phone in hand. People were looking at me and taking pictures. Do I look okay? Oh gosh, I need to get used to this. I never thought I’d be happy to see Perrie. I saw Perrie walking toward me with a smile.
“Hey!” We greeted each other with a smile and a hug.
“How have you been?” She asked excitedly as cameras flashed and people yelled questions at us.
“Pretty good.” I shrugged. “Maybe we should catch up in the car? I’m not really used to the media being around me all the time.”
“You get used to it over time but yea, let’s go.” Her smile was so genuine and warm, too bad she annoys the crap out of me.
I linked arms with her and walked back toward the car. Perrie was in a pretty good mood so I didn't really have to try and keep her in one. Once we got into the car, she sat in the front seat next to me. I buckled up and turned the car on while her bags were thrown into the trunk by themandatory security guard I had to bring. I waited until he was in the backseat and then drove out of the parking lot and toward the hotel.
“So how’s Zayn been? We haven't really talked much lately.” Perrie asked with a shy tone.
“He’s been stressed but okay I think, we don’t really talk all that much so it’s hard for me to tell.” I totally lied to her because I didn't know what else to do. “Arent you guys on tour?”
“We will be in 3 days, this is just a pit stop for me because I’m going to New York tomorrow night after the concert.” She reached over to turn the a/c but it was already all the way up.
“That’s great. I think it’d be awesome to see you guys live.” I smiled as we pulled up in front of the hotel and turned the car off. “Here we go.”
We both stepped out and rushed into the hotel. The security guards opened the doors for us and helped us into the elevator.
