Only You

"Does anyone know where Harry and Louis have got off to?" Mr Ford was standing at the front of the class with Niall and Liam wondering where the other two could have disappeared off to. I looked over at the door just as Harry walked in with Louis close behind him. I was a little hurt that he hadn't stayed to tell us what he thought of the song that we had written, but that disappeared when I saw the look on his face now. He was following Harry with an expression of quiet caution, while Harry on the other hand seemed like he was excitedly determined. As they got closer to the front of the class, Liam stepped forward to introduce the song they had chosen.

"Sorry about that, this is Midnight-" Liam stopped talking as Harry interrupted him, whispering in his ear. Louis caught my eye and I raised my eyebrows in question but he just shook his head slightly. He definitely knew something, but not something he could say with his eyes clearly. "No, I was wrong, this is Happily... and I'm not explaining what it's about, because that's wet and I'm sure you're all smart enough to read between the lines." Liam said with a smirk, looking directly at Selena. I looked over at her, but she hadn't seemed to notice, she had spent the last few minutes texting Jared under the desk to tell him about our performance. I looked back toward the boys who were sorting themselves out with instruments.

"You don't understand, you don't understand, what you do to me when you hold his hand..." My eyes went wide as I instantly understood what the song was hinting at. Harry was completely about to confess himself to Selena and she was looking at her damn phone.

"Hey!" I whispered and pointed to the boys. She looked up, realised what was happening, grinned and looked to the front of the room. Harry was looking directly at her with a massive smile and I felt my heart melt at the sight, and she was just grinning back at him, oblivious to the words that were being sung to her.

"... I just want it to be you and I forever, I know you wanna leave so come on baby, be with me, so happily..." I smiled and turned to Selena, expecting her to have realised what was going on, but instead she was just smiling back at Harry, encouragingly, still not paying attention to the words. What is wrong with this girl? Why is she so blind to what is basically being shouted at her by four boys at the front of the room. I rolled my eyes as she began swaying to the song.

"... and if he feels my traces in your hair, I'm sorry love, but I don't really care..."

I spent the rest of the song looking between Selena and Harry, waiting for her to click on, but she didn't seem to get it, and if she did, she hid it well. Why could she not see it? Everyone else in the damn room could. The smile he was giving her was practically a declaration to the entire room and the only one who didn't get it was the one who needed to. The boys finished their song and as they stopped singing, I saw Harry smile brighter than he had in a while. Even if Selena hadn't cottoned on, he had clearly enjoyed finally getting it off his chest.

"That was so good!" Selena's voice came from behind me. I turned to her and raised my eyebrows with a smile.

"Yeah, I kind of wish that they had explained it at the beginning though, I didn't get it, what was it about?" I asked, trying to get her to actually think about it.

"Hmm, I don't know, there was so much going on, like the music was so upbeat and the singing was so good that I actually kind of forgot to listen to the words, I got too caught up!" She laughed and looked down at her phone that had just buzzed, "Why don't you ask Lou when they come back over?" She added without looking up. I wanted to shake her and scream that she should ask Harry. A few minutes later Louis came back to the table a little ahead of the boys, his eyebrows raised. I knew instantly what he was asking. Did Selena get it? I rolled my eyes and shook my head. Without a word, he turned to Harry and shook his head slightly, passing on the message, but I was surprised to see that he just shrugged and smiled as he clipped his guitar case shut.

"So, what did you think?" Harry said to Selena as he came over to the table. She looked up at him with a bright and wide smile as he took his previous seat next to her.

"I loved it, such a catchy tune! Who wrote it?" She reflected his smile back at him, only infuriating me at her obliviousness even more.

"Well, Niall wrote the music and I wrote the majority of the words." Harry said with a small smile.

"Oh cool!" she said and then turned to me, "El said she didn't get what the song's about, so explain Mr. Lyricist!" she giggled and squeezed his wrist encouragingly. Harry looked at me with a raised eyebrow as if to say really? I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, sorry, I'm kinda dense when it comes to lyrics." I said, inviting him to explain. He hesitated and looked at Lou who raised his eyebrows. Harry's smile faltered slightly before he turned back to me.

"Ah, just generic stuff about girl trouble, you know."

"Oh yeah, of course." I replied, defeated in my attempts to get Selena to realise today. Damn it Harry, just tell her, will you!
