Nothing left

Destiny's p.o.v

When i got the call that my grandmother was in the hospital, i didn't know what to do. She was my only family left. I cant lose her.

When i finally arrived at the hospital a nurse directed me towards my her room. When i got there and saw her in that hospital bed, with a tube down her throat. Tears were burning in my eyes. i got a chair and sat next to her and held her hand. I stayed like that for what seems like forever until the doctor came into the room. i got up from the chair and went over to the doctor. "Is she going to be fine?" I asked the doctor. "At this point we have no idea what is going to happen. we will just have to wait and see. I strongly advise you to call the rest of her family." The doctor said with sorry eyes. "I'm the only family she has left." i said back to the doctor with tears threatening to come out. The doctor said something else but i zoned him out and i was just looking at my grandmother and wondering what am i going to do.

It was only a couple of days later that she passed away. The doctor said that she was old and that this was her time.

Now i'm all thats left.

Its funny how your whole life can just be taken away from you in a second. My grandmother was nothing fancy nothing flashy, but mine . The only family i had is now gone.

People were telling me that i had to plan a funeral.

A 17 year old planning a funeral. I'm not even an adult yet. I'm still in highschool.


I was at home cleaning out my grandmothers room. going through things. i haven't stopped crying in 2 days.

i was in the middle of getting a drink when the doorbell rang. i sat the cup on the table and went to go see who was at the door. It was a older looking man with a suit on. I opened the door. "Hello miss i am your grandmothers lawyer." the man said. "Oh ok come in" i moved aside so the man could enter."Please sit down do you want anything to drink?" i asked the man as i walked into the kitchen getting my own drink "No thank you im good." he replied back. when i got my drink i made my way into the living room and sat on the sofa opposite from him. "So i would like to go over the things that your grandmother has left for you." the man said as he got out a piece of paper. "It says here that she left you with all of her money" the man said reading the paper. I knew it wasn't much money that my grandmother had but it would do until i got a job. The man read all the other things i was left with. but i stopped listening after a while. How am i going to do this i am not even an adult yet. i dont have a job or enough money to buy food."And the last thing i wanted to go over was your living arrangements. You are not an legal adult. so that means you can not live by yourself. You will have to move in with a family member." The man said while pulling out another piece of paper. "I dont have any other family" I said coldly looking at the ground. "Well thats not what it says here on this paper." The man says handing the paper he was holding over to me. "Thats impossible." i said without even looking at the paper i was just given. "I am the only child. my parents never had any other children." i said now looking at the man "Well thats not true miss, you have an older brother.His name is Liam Payne. He is supposedly very successful." the man said while motioning for me to give the paper back to him. How did i not know that i had an older brother. why did my family lie to me this whole time. "you will be moving in with your brother in the next week. i will see you then. Goodbye." The man said as he was packing up all his stuff and he headed for the door and he waved goodbye and left.

How is this even possible. my life has change so much in the past few days. i don't how much more i can handle.
