In The Heat of Los Angeles
SEQUEL!

This ended with a horrid cliffhanger, I know. But guess what?
The sequel has begun! You can find it HERE!
The sequel is called "Los Angeles, When Will You Save Me?" It kept with the cities in titles as well as them being song lyrics. This is taken from the Blink 182 song "Los Angeles" from their album, California. Blink 182 was one of the most influential bands of my lifetime. As an angsty teenager I'd lay on the floor of my bedroom, headphones on and music turned up as loud as it would go as I'd cry to the lyrics of songs like "Adam's Song" and "Stay Together for the Kids". I was a DJ in college when Blink 182 announced their indefinite hiatus. I was live on air as the news came through. I ended my show by playing Blink songs for the remainder of my time slot and then giving a pretty amazing monologue about the influence that Mark, Tom, and Travis had on my life. Eventually the band reunited and then again split. California isn't the Blink line-up I grew up with. Tom is off chasing aliens (seriously) and filling in on guitar and vocals is Mike Skiba from Alkaline Trio, another band that crafted who I was in my youth.
Nothing felt more appropriate and the lyrics sounded like the way I imagine Evie is as she is searching for answers to the new life she's facing. Will The City of Dreams take away all of Evie's? Will she crumble or come out stronger on the other side? Read "Los Angeles, When Will You Save Me?" to find out!
I hope you enjoy the sequel and I can't wait to hear from you about it!
