The Contract

Dani's P.O.V.

I woke up next to Rae, but not in Rae's house. We were in the management office and EVERYONE was here.
"What's going on? How long was I out?" I panicked.
"I don't know." Raegan trailed off.
"Dani? Are you okay?" Luke asked.
"You aren't mad anymore?"
"Mad about what?"
"What's going on?"
"Danielle, my dear, so many questions." Rob smirked.
We all quickly sat quietly and turned our attention.
"This is a meeting for phase two." Rob spoke, like a true business man.
Phase two?
"I know you're all still a bit groggy. I can explain that, but your precious Dani here, has already filled you in. " His tone more evil now.
"Where's Madison?" Ashton asked.
"Well Ashton, you didn't tell her, nor did Calum tell Audrey, everything Dani and Luke found out."
"So? Where is she?" Ash asked, more aggressive now.
"They aren't ready for phase two." Rob replied.
"So why are we here?" Calum asked.
"I want all of you to know, if you ever cross me again, so help me god. This band will never have existed. And Dani... Sweet, sweet, Dani..." Rob began.
Luke took my hand and squeezed tightly.
"Here's the dilema..." Rob continued, then turnedd to the door.
Arzaylea walked in, tears clearly shed, and no sleep.
"Arzaylea crossed me. care to tell them what happens when you cross me?" Rob scowled.
Arzaylea practically fell into Luke's arms sobbing. "He.. He... He killed Gustav."
Everyone gasped, except Rob, he just paced the room.
"She threatened to exploit everything. Even things you all don't know or understand."
"What exactly is that?" Michael asked.
"Everything Danielle and Raegan may remember about the 'past' is true. You really were normally dating and marrying each other. The media went into a blitz! You were at the height of your careers when they suddenly disappeared and then when ratings dropped, we brought them back the same as the first time. You never saw any of the articles and it was a clean slate. The media fed on all of it. The contract is the only way to keep you progressing and keep you on top."
"You're disgusting." Arzaylea spat.
"That may be, but they chose fame. Cross me, and you lose it all."
The boys all shared the same guilty glance.
"Why couldn't we just do things right, like the first time?" Luke asked.
"The hottest boy band since One Direction gets married. Taken off the market. Who wants that? People want drama, Luke! Now- that's why we are here."
Arzaylea was still sobbing on Luke's lap. My heart broke for her, and I don't even like her.
"Arzaylea here is now irrelevant. No one is going to care that the 'love of her life' overdosed. She'll probably never love again, there for people don't care."
"You made him over dose?" Rae asked.
"Sweetie, a drug addict will never truly recover. His death was simply a relapse gone wrong." Rob smiled.
Arzaylea sobbed harder.
"Now, Rae and Michael will go on a trip to wherever you please, get engaged, and prolong it out like the contract reads. You'll have your dramatic ups and downs, especially since Crystal is still a fan favorite and thought to be Mikey's true love."
Rae's face dropped, but Mikey kissed her hand sweetly.
"Phase one continues for Ashton and Madison, and Calum and Audrey. Fans aren't very fond of either of them, so that changes, or they're done."
Cal and Ash exchanged the look of heartbreak, and anyone who ships Cashton would probably swear there was a hint of relief.
"The sharp pain you felt earlier was the last of the serum to make you hazed and under the spell. Clearly it isn't strong enough anymore, and now you know the truth. However, if any of your families conspire again, we won't be so kind as to spare them."
I glanced at Luke who was clearly ready to kill Rob.
"Now, collect yourselves. I need to have a word with Luke, Arzaylea and Dani alone."
The boys and Rae all stood, I was ready to throw up.
"Send him in." Rob spoke to his assistant.
Shawn walked in and I really felt nauseas. Arzaylea finally stopped crying and sat in one of the chairs next to me.
"Should you tell them, or should I?" Rob asked her.
"I'm-- I--" she stuttered.
"She's pregnant. And thanks to her little rendezvous with Luke at the masquerade ball... We don't know whose it is. And Dani..."
"I'm also..." I trailed.
Luke's eye's widen then looked to Shawn.
"Good, Luke, you've figured it out." Rob began, "Now, until we figure out who's having whose, we aren't leaving this room."
Two nurses walked in with plenty of needles for what I assume is a DNA test.
"Try not to kill each other." Rob smiled, before he exited.
As the door closed, I pulled Arzaylea into a hug. I don't know what overcame me, but she held me just as tight. As we pulled apart I looked to Shawn and Luke.
"I am so sorry." I sobbed.
"Dani," Arzaylea cracked, "I'm so sorry."
"No, no. Don't be. This is all some crazy mess."
"I should've stayed away, but they offered me so much money." she continued.
"It's really okay. I shouldn't have done what I did... But I did."
"Luke.." Shawn spoke.
"Don't." Luke growled.
"Luke.." I sighed, tears coming to my eyes again.
"How long have you known?" He asked.
"I found out in Australia." I replied.
"And you told him first?" Luke frowned.
I nodded in guilt.
One of the nurses walked over to me. I couldn't even feel the needle with how numb I felt altogether.
"We should know soon." She sweetly smiled, handing me water.
"What do you think they'll do if it isn't the 'right' person's?" Shawn asked.
I shrugged, I didn't even want to think about how sick Rob could be.
Arzaylea and I leaned on each other because the boys made the room so tense.
"I'm sorry for Gustav." I said gently.
"I really loved him." she half smiled.
"I thought you really loved me too." Luke whispered.
"I thought so too, Luke." She replied, you could just hear the guilt.
"We don't need to drudge up the past." I spoke.
"Maybe we do." Luke replied.
"Maybe." she stated.
"If you hadn't come in to my life pretending you loved me, then destroying every piece of me I knew for a sleezy one night stand, maybe the fans wouldn't have needed the drama that ruined Dani and I in the first place."
"I didn't pretend. I loved you, but I got so bored always being at home while you were on tour being gawked at by millions of girls. I needed an edge."
"Well you got it." He scoffed.
"I'm sorry, Luke, really." She said, but he didn't reply.
I pulled him aside.
"Luke... If you don't want to go through with this because of everything, I'm sure we could break--"
"No. You may have done what you did, but so did I. I want you, every bit of you Danielle Henderson. Even if it isn't mine, or if hers is, I want you."
"I want you too." I smiled, kissing him more passionately than we had in a while.
"Luke." Shawn interrupted. " I really am sorry for everything. You two are perfect for each other, in the beginning I thought she could do better, but clearly you are the best for her. I want to be a part of her life, because she is the best friend I have ever known, but I'd understand if that can't be."
Luke sighed, then looked to the ground, then back up.
"Of course you can be in her life. Espceially if this is yours."
They bro-hugged then the door clicked open.
"Well... I have good news and I have bad news..." Rob spoke, with an evil smile.
