The Contract

Change.

After hours of studying the photos and notes mum had kept in secret for me, my brain hurt. If anyone would do something so awful, why to us? Why to Dani? My family? I just don't understand.
"SO what I've gather," mum began, "5sos went on some hiatus for a year, cancelling their tour and then having a surprise show in Vegas to re-write this love story of yours."
"How did the whole wrold just forget about us in the first place?" Dani asked, I gently squeezed her hand.
"That's the thing I haven't quite figured out, but I found a few clippings of the wedding article, some drama, and your first sightings. This year some tabloids have said it's rekindling, but they've basically been slammed for slander." Mum contiunued.
"So management is doing this to us for more fame? But then what about the contracts?" I asked.
"That contract is fool-proof. I have read it back and front. It would stop any of this information coming out, but I'm sure you both read it throughouly."
Dani and I gave eachother a curious look.
"Really?" Mum sighed.
"Blame me... I just wanted her all to myself." I replied.
"Luke Robert..."
"I'm sorry! Please keep going."
"Well, basically everyone in your lives are under this... spell, for lack of better term. So is the world."
"How do we change it?"
"I'm not sure you can... You could lose all fame and bad things would happen to Dani."
"Bad things?" Dani asked.
"Basically an 'if I tell you, I have to kill you' sort of contract."
"Oh..." Dani trailed off.
"That's not going to happen. We're going to fix this."

Dani's P.O.V.
Later that day we stepped out into the beautiful sunlight that was Australia.
"Ah, fresh air." I breathed.
Luke put his arm around me and lead me down the street to the beach.
"Everything is going to bee okay." he softly spoke in my ear.
We approached the beach to find all of our friends waiting. The music was blaring, drinks were flowing, and everyone was in a different world. N o one here knows what we just spoke of. No one even cares. What if we all just go along with this crazy contract ideal world? What if we give management everything they want and the boys are the most famous they'll ever be?
"Dani?" Rae asked, "You okay?"
I smiled, "Lost in the beauty."
"I know! Come on, get your clothes off and jump in the ocean with me!"
Rae's excitement was enough of an answer for me. Let's just go along and act like nothing ever happened. Like this really is the first time I met Luke, fell in love, and the contract is our life.
I slipped out of my clothes, just into my bikini and let the sun hit me. The cool water slowly, then quickly covered my feet.
Rae stood next to me taking my hand, "I know everything." she spoke through her teeth.
"Oh?"
"We just have to go along with it... The boys have a plan."
I turned to see her face, she looked different. She had this stone cold expression, and I'm sure I did as well. It's as if something had just come over us, and that's that.
"Ready?" She asked, I half smiled, and nodded.
We jumped into the ocean and the piercing chill of the water quickly washed of us. Soon I feltnothing. My body was as numb to the water, as I was to the situation we are in.

Luke's P.O.V.
"Here comes trouble." Ash spoke, pointing over to Arzaylea.
"Why is she even in Australia?" Cal asked.
"I think we all know the answer." Michael responded.
"Act natural." I said, patting Mikey on the back.
"Hello, boys." Arzaylea smiled.
We all kind of grunted.
"What brings you here?" Madison walked up.
"I'm on tour." she smiled evilly.
"With who?" I asked, but soon a tall blonde guy, covered in tattoos walked over.
Dani and Rae emerged from the water. Dani came up to me, wrapping her arms around my waist.
"What a nice surprise." Dani spoke.
"Is it?" Arzaylea asked.
"You have a new boo, so maybe yiou'll stay away from mine."
My eyes grew wide, "Dani."
"She's right, Luke. And I see she's finally getting back bone."
"Hi, I'm Gustav." the blonde guy, reached.
"Luke." I replied.
"I've heard a lot about you."
"Oh, I'm sure." I clenched my jaw.
"We should get going, we have a tour bus to catch." Arzayleas smirked, taking Gustav's hand and walking away.
"What the hell ahs gotten into you?" I turned to Dani.
"Nothing."
"It doesn't seem like nothing."
"I'm fine, Luke. Can we get back to enjoying the day?" Dani asked, then checked her phone. "I need to take this."

Dani's P.O.V.
"You have got to stop calling and texting me."
"Dani... I've been worried sick."
"You don't have to worry about me, Shawn. I'm a big girl."
"Dani.. You know what I mean. You text me that you were finally figuring stuff out, then you just stop responding."
"I have to stop you there. When can we meet up?" Iasked.
"When are you back?"
"Sometime next week."
"That night then."
I ended the phone call and walked back over to Luke. As he wrapped his arms around me a looked up at him lovingly. Paps had been surrounding the beach the whole time, and I'm sure all the conversations had been heard, but none of that mattered because Luke is here.
"Ready to tell me what's going on?"
I smiled and let out a small laugh, he chuckled back, "They're watching. I'm just giving them what they want."

Luke's P.O.V.
As dani spoke I saw something in her I had never seen before. She's changed in a matter of hours and... I'm not sure I like it.
