The Stockholm Mermaid Effect

Introduction

The story of evolution goes back many millions of years ago, when the Earth was still young and the prospect of life beyond humans wasn't just another concept confined to fiction.

I'm not talking about sparkly vampires or god-like werewolves that can't seem to keep their shirts on for more than five seconds. I'm talking about a real myth – one that doesn't involve adapting the nature of these creatures and transforming them into sex symbols made for horny girls.

No, the tales I'm referring to goes beyond vampires and werewolves, in fact – they have the most mystery behind them.

The creatures I’m referring to are mermaids.

Not Ariel from The Little Mermaid mind you – but actual deep water dwellers that could pass for humans if the bottom half of their bodies weren’t adorned with a fish-like scaly tail.

If memory serves you right, you know the history of how these ancient beings came to be and the supernatural powers they possess.

And if you don't, then I have a new story for you. One you probably never heard before, but let’s start at the beginning.

It takes place in the modern world of today and off the shores of Britain.

It's about a young merman and a young mermaid...not unlike a start to a typical romance, but this doesn't really tell of their ever-afters, but the enchantment that captures them both.

This version you’re about to read is about two pods, both opposite directions from one another, yet they couldn’t be more different if they tried.

Amatheia was a princess from the South Middleton pod, she meets Harry, a merman from the North Shire pod.

Their introduction is brief, but remember-able as many years later they reconnect again, unbeknownst to the princess that a trap had been set for her by the Northern pod and that Harry was specifically chosen for the job.

In the midst of the princess’s kidnapping and the chaos, a bond forms between the two merfolk.

When that happens and the mermaid catches the affection of a merman – though very rare, they link a special bond that no matter how far apart they are, the connection will always be there.

That’s the legend of it anyhow.

Follow the journey of Amatheia and Harry as they go through the notions of being human and learning what the true meaning of love is, especially when they both catch Stockholm Syndrome.

Although, I suppose in this case, it would be called The Stockholm Mermaid Effect.
