You got me walking side to side

I threw my bag at the floor and fell- literally fell- on my bed. Phew. It was a long long day at school. Which means, another day of getting humiliated by the teachers for incomplete work, and bad grades. I was never like this in the 9th grade. I was the class topper. At least I had my besties, Zoey and Charlie to survive.
I pulled out my phone from my bag and went into Instagram. I liked a few pics and kept scrolling down. Suddenly, a post caught my attention. It was Harry’s post.

Coincidence was that I too joined snapchat yesterday. I plucked up the courage to commenton his post.

I immediately regretted it. He doesn’t even follow you back on insta. Haha like he is gonna add you back.
For once, the inside me was wrong. I got a response pretty quickly

Wow. He actually replied. I immediately went to snapchat and added him.
The next morning I saw that he added me back too and even sent me a text. He doesn’t even talk to me in class. Now why is he texting me on snapchat? My heart started beating fast as I opened the text.
Harry: science test was tough?
I quickly typed in a reply. Well, I could do with more friends right?

Me: I guess… but I did okay
I never realized that text was the start of something.

“SHUT UP! THIS IS AN EXAM!” Mr. Roy screamed at us. Charli chuckled, “this guy is nuts”, she commented. We were at school and we had another….wait for it….another exam! How fun! I hated how there were so many tests in this school. Charlie, Zoe, and I sat at our usual spots, in the second to last bench. Harry was behind me and he didn’t acknowledge my existence or anything, as usual. We got talking on snapchat and so far he has been the cheeky, charming pervert I see in class. I guess we are friends now.
I looked at my test paper and thought, holy shit. This is greek and latin to me!
“pssst Louis whats the answer to the 4th question?”
“shut up Niall he will hear us”
“nahh he is blind and deaf anyways”
“shit, he is coming here”
“HORAN! STYLES! TOMLINSON! WHAT ARE YOU THREE DOING? THIS IS AN EXAM!” , Mr. Roy roared.
They stood up
“um sir.. we were just taking the test like you told us to…”
“SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND TALK!” Mr. Roy screamed, unaware that his sentence was wrong
“how can we shut our mouth AND talk, sir?” Niall chuckled
The class roared with laughter
That was the last straw for Mr. Roy. He took the long ruler on my desk and raised it above, like he was gonna hit Niall. The poor short man couldn’t reach up to his head. He walked back to the front, embarrassed.
“DETENTION FOR YOU MR. HORAN”, he fumed and made a mental note to target shorter students next time.
I smirk at my friends. These guys were such dorks at times.
“ooh shit bro what is the answer to question 69?” Harry giggles
Niall immediately started to laugh out loud, making Mr. Roy give him a look of warning.
“Its option A, and now you two morons shut the fuck up, I don’t wanna fail this shit.” Louis says
“Answer to 69 is A” I whisper to Charli and Zoey
“I see what you are doing” Charli giggles
“nah bro you don’t even have to do that”, Zoey says, “watch me”
Zoey turned back fully and asks Niall for a few answers and he answers without hesitating.
I look back and watch her talk to the blond boy, who smiles back at her. I look at Harry and smile at him. He does not return the smile. Rude, I think. He pretends not to notice me and puts his head down. I didn’t understand. We had been talking on snapchat for more than a week now. So far he has screenshotted me more than once. I pretended not to really care, but it was getting too weird. Is he embarrassed of being my friend? I am too confused. We had talked about things ranging from simple school stuff to relationships. I told him very honestly that I have never dated anyone in my life and unsurprisingly, he has had many girlfriends, and apparently he is still affected by his last break up. How many girls has he said the same thing to? Well, this was not for me to care, because I don’t completely trust him anyway. He is really cute and charming, though.
