Your Love

Hitting The Slopes

"Skiing combines outdoor fun with knocking down trees with your face."
― Dave Berry

"I'm nervous, Harry." I said as he helped me buckle my ski boots onto my skis.

"You'll be just fine, Kammy."

"What if I fall?"

"Then I'll catch you. Every time." Harry said with a smile, standing up to his full height. He adjusted the beanie on my head and stroked my cold pink cheek with his gloved hand. He was my knight in shining armour or, in this case, in a black ski jacket and matching pants. But he still looked gorgeous. He let a soft kiss on my lips before bringing half of his long hair up in a bun, so it was out of his face.

"Off we go, my darling." Harry smiled, taking my gloved hand in his. I hooked my ski sticks around my other wrist as we shuffled our way over to the drag lift.

I had never skied in my life and I would be lying if I said I wasn't terrified. I didn't want to fall over but something told me that I would, more than once. It would be so embarrassing for me, a grown woman, to fall over on my skis while little kids zoomed past me, laughing their heads off. Harry had brought me to Niederau in Austria to ski because it was the perfect place, the large hills covered in fresh snow and the sky bright blue, wonderful weather for skiing. Harry would be my teacher and while I was thankful to him, I knew he wasn't the most coordinated person. He would trip over his own feet back home in the house so having him teach me how to ski... Well, we'd just have to see how it'd go.

We reached the front of the line for the drag lift. Harry said I could ride with him so the next time, I could do it by myself. I positioned myself right in front of him as a T-bar came around. Harry pushed himself and I forward, balancing his butt on the T-bar as the drag lift took us up the ski slope. I watched children with their parents moving down the slope at a snail's place and I hoped I wouldn't be that slow.

When we reached the top, Harry moved forward and I moved with him. He wrapped my hand in his, keeping me upright. I looked down at my skis and they suddenly felt super heavy, more heavy that they should be. My knees were frozen, I couldn't move. I stared down the slope and my breathing quickened. How the hell am I going to get down there?! Can't I just catch the drag lift down? No, I couldn't. I had to ski down.

"Just relax, baby. Breathe deep and slow." Harry said, clearly seeing my apprehension. I nodded and closed my eyes, taking in the cold air. I could do this. I needed to try. Harry brought me here for this sole reason so I couldn't back out. I couldn't do that to him.

"Alright, love, turn your skis inwards, so they give the shape of a slice of pizza."

"A slice of pizza?" I laughed.

"It's how I was taught, Kammy." He smiled and gestured for me to give it a go. To my own surprise, I managed to do it. My reward was the sensation of Harry's warm lips on my freezing cold cheek, sending a flush across my face. With my hand still in his, he became to move forward with me with him and I started to panic. No, no, I'm going to fall!

"Hey, hey, baby, stay with me. Just stay with me." Harry whispered as we slid down the slope, a screeching sound hitting my ears as our skis ran across the icy ground. When we were halfway down, I hadn't fallen over but that was because I was still holding Harry's hand. He said he was going to let go to see if I could balance by myself. I felt like a little girl as he tugged his hand away from mine, despite my reluctance. Not even five seconds after that, my skis crossed over and I felt my body falling. But I never hit the ground because just like Harry promised, he caught me.

"You're OK, don't worry." He said softly. Tears burned in my eyes, blurring my vision. I hated that I was so bad at this. It didn't seem that hard but for me, it was. I wanted to be like those kids who skied effortlessly but they had probably been doing it since they were babies. Still, I was upset at myself.

"Baby, why are you crying? You're not hurt, are you?" Harry asked worriedly as he helped me to my feet, gripping my forearms tightly. I shook my head and sniffled.

"I'm so crap at this, Harry. I want to be like all the other people on this slope that can ski without any worries."

"Kammy, this is your first time skiing. It's natural to fall over. I did, many times when I was younger. I would stupidly lean down and lose my balance like an idiot. Gemma always laughed at me when that happened." Harry said and I cracked a smile. I imagined a young Harry coming to a crash landing on a slope just like this while his older sister zoomed past him, giggling loudly. He bumped my chin with his hand and wiped my tears away.

"There's my favourite smile. Come on, baby, let's try again."

Attempt after attempt after attempt. Up and down the slope, up and down the slope, up and down the slope. It was tiring but after every try, I got a little bit better. After a full 87 minutes, I could ski by myself without falling over. I wasn't as fast as the little kids and I was still adjusting to the feeling of skiing but at least, I wasn't falling down. Before, I hated myself. Now, I loved myself. I was proud that I had done it.

Harry was just as proud, if not more. I had never seen him smile so widely before, strands of his loose hair flying out behind him as he skied down the slope to meet me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me warmly, my smaller physique fitting into his larger one flawlessly.

"I knew you could it, Kammy. By the end of the week, you'll be amazing."

After another hour of skiing, we took our skis off and trudged our way in our heavy boots to the car. Harry placed the two pairs of skis in the boot while I sat on the edge of the seat in the front, unbuckling my boots.

"Did you have fun?"

I looked up to see Harry taking his gloves off and unravelling the small bun in his hair, shaking his curls out.

"More than I thought I would." I answered, slipping my leather boots on. They were much comfier than the ski ones. Less heavy and less suffocating but the positives was that my feet were toasty warm. Harry's slender fingers soared across my palms, caressing my skin. His green gaze was on me, his fair skin looking ethereal in the light. How is he mine?

"You're cold."

"We're in the snow, Harry. Of course I'm cold." I giggled.

"I've thought of a way to warm you up, baby." The gentle look on his face was replaced by one of desire, a smirk ghosting on his pink lips. When Harry had sex on his mind, his whole demeanour changed and he became this horny creature that I loved. I brought his hands up to my mouth and kissed his palms.

"Well then, take me home." I whispered seductively. Harry didn't need to be told twice.

Notes

Hope you liked this, Kammy! I love skiing and Niederau is the place I ski when I holiday with my Dutch family, it's so much fun!
