I wish I could say that what he was saying wasn’t true. I wish I could say that Wesley and I didn’t think about having an abortion, but I couldn’t lie. We did- think about it. Then, we had our first ultrasound and it was all over with.
I also wish I could say that when Shannon said that, that it didn’t turn me into who I used to be.
“Shannon, you are just mad that I started dating after Wesley was killed, but it wasn’t to you,” I snapped.
The ‘oohs’ continued and I smirked, knowing I was going to win this.
“Evelina, don’t become who you used to be to win this,” Niall whispered in my ear.
That was just the thing. Shannon only knew who I used to be. He doesn’t know who I am now.
Apparently, that was the last button because Shannon swung. I knew he had anger issues and I knew that it was stupid to push his buttons, but he pushed mine.
“I’m going to ignore that, because I have a beautiful son at home who doesn’t need the only role model in his life in jail,” I said, turning, and walking away to another corner of the bar with Niall.
I saw Shannon storm out with his posse, making me smile.
“So, I guess coming here was a bad idea.”
“No, Niall, this is my favorite bar and always will be.”
He then smiled and got us some more drinks.
“You are not getting me drunk so I will go sing.”
He laughed and shook his head. I downed the shot.
“Come on,” Niall said, grabbing my hand, and dragging me to the front.
“Niall, I’m not going up there.”
“No, but you are going to watch me go up there.”
“You are insane! People will recognize you!”
“They already have,” he shrugged.
He then got up and stood on stage after the last person left the stage. He whispered the song to the DJ, who nodded and I immediately recognized the guitars at the beginning, making me grab my phone and start recording.

There was a small music break and I smiled. He winked at me, making me laugh. My heart swelled as he sang every word to me.
It was just like at the concert I attended with Ang, except this time I wasn’t imagining it.

Everyone cheered as I glared at him, shaking my head.
Suddenly, I felt a nudge, making me look back.
“Show him what you can really do,” she winked.
It was one of the girls I cheered with. The only one that didn’t ditch me when I found out I was pregnant.
I got on stage, with the help of Niall, and he told the DJ the song. I just prayed I knew it.
I immediately knew it when I heard the ukulele play.

You could tell that in that moment, we both wanted each other. In ways that my momma would not be proud of.
So, when our night ended in his hotel room, nobody was surprised. I was just thankful that he still had it.
