You Lost Me
Chapter Twenty-Two
Harry’s POV
“Harry?!”, Bella calls from downstairs. She’s been cooking for most of the day for my family and the lads and Eleanor and Dani.
“Yes love?” I call back down from our room.
“El just texted me, her and Louis are coming a bit earlier! They’ll be here in like five minutes!”, she yells as I make my way downstairs to the kitchen where she is, “Can you come here and cut the vegetables while I go get changed?”, Bella keeps yelling as I lean against the doorway to admire her beauty.
“Sure thing babe”, I smirk causing her to jump and turn around.
“Oh my gosh, Harry! Don’t do that, you nearly gave me a heart attack!”, she cracks a smile as I laugh a little and go get the vegetables out to wash and cut.
“I’m going to get dressed, they should be here soon!”, she runs out the kitchen and upstairs quickly. Bella’s been excited for this dinner mostly just to meet my family again. And Gemma’s already texted me twice about how excited she is. I had to remind her not to come off too strong, but I know Bella and her will hit it off like they always have. And Danielle is super excited to come over too. They should all be here soon anyways.
*DING DONG*
“Harry, can you get that?!”, Bella calls down from our room.
“Of course love!”, I open the door to see Eleanor and Louis standing there. “Hey, come on in. Bells is upstairs getting changed.”
“Yay! I’ll go see her”, El passes me and flies up the stairs. It makes me happy that all of our birds get along so well.
“Uh, actually mate”, Louis mumbles to me, “can I talk to you for a minute before everyone comes over?”
“Sure mate, what’s up?”, we walk to the kitchen.
“Well, I, um well, I’ve been thinking about El and I and”, I keep cutting the vegetables for Bella, “I think, I don’t know…” he keeps stumbling on his words.
“Spit it out, Lou”, I chuckle a little bit. Since when was he nervous to talk to me?
“I was thinking of proposing to Eleanor.”
I set the knife down and look at him. He looks nervous which is strange because I almost never see Louis looking nervous. He’s always the cool and confident one. He and Liam are the people I go to when I’m nervous or freaking out about something.
“We just have so much time off with the break and so it’s the perfect timing”, he looks at me now.
“So then what’s stopping you?”
“I don’t know if she’ll say yes.”
I laugh, “Of course she will! You guys are literally perfect for each other, I couldn’t think of anyone better for you than Eleanor!”
*Ding Dong*
I turn away from Louis and go to answer the door only to see my mother and sister standing there. “Hi mum!”, I kiss her cheek and hug her tightly I don’t know where I’d be in my life without my mum. She’s been number one supporter since day one and I couldn’t be more thankful for her. “Ugh, why’d you have to bring her?” I roll my eyes at my sister smirking.
“Mum made me come”, Gemma mumbles as I give her a hug, “Where’s Bella? She’s the person I really came for!”
“She’s upstairs with elean-” I stop and turn around to see Eleanor and Bella bouncing down the stairs giggling, “Oh hey, there they are” Bella comes over to me smiling. I can’t help but wrap my arm around her, “Bells, this is my mum and my sister, Gemma.”
“Hello, it’s nice to see you both!” she hugs both of them. I can’t help but notice how big Gem and Mum’s smiles are. They really do love her as much as I do, which makes things a lot smoother. I’ll admit, I’ve brought home girlfriends in the past who my mum didn’t necessarily get along with. Always listen to your mum, she’s always right.
“Um, can I ask you a question please Mrs. Twist?”, Bella asks my mum once Louis, Eleanor, and Gemma have left the room. She looks either confused or concerned. Or maybe both?
“Of course dear, and call me Anne please. Mrs, Twist is way too formal for us”, she smiles.
“Oh okay”, Bella laughs lightly, “Um, were you by any chance, uh visiting the hospital after the car accident or something? You look familiar and even though I don’t remember meeting you, I kinda remember seeing you or hearing you, or maybe it was just someone that looked like you”, she’s starting to ramble now which is absolutely adorable. She only rambles when she’s flustered or mad or happy. I think she’s just feeling flustered right now.
“I visited while you were still out, love”, I watch as my mum places her hand on Bella’s arm to calm her rambling, “Maybe you heard my voice?”
Bella nods, “That must be it. It’s just so odd, you’re so familiar.”*Ding Dong*
We’re all still by the doorway so I open it quickly to see Niall, Liam, and Danielle standing there. “Since when did you guys start knocking? You usually just walk right in.”, I joke.
“Oh Harold, this is like a legit dinner party that you’re. Knocking is just proper edicate”, Niall ruffles my hair as I roll my eyes and Dani runs over to Bella and hugs her. Only Niall would say something like. “Oh, it smells heavenly in here! I’m starving Bell-Bell!”
“Well then I guess we can eat right now, if you want?”, she looks to me and I nod giving her a quick kiss on her blonde head. “Okey Dokey then it’s dinner time.” She leads everyone through the kitchen that opens to a dining room. I love the way she brightens everyone’s moods immediately, yet she’s completely oblivious to the fact that she does. It’s just normal for her.
“Move it Haz, I’m sitting next to Bell-Bell tonight. You’ve kept her away from me for far too long”, Gemma hip-bumps me and takes the open seat next to Bella.
I roll my eyes and sigh loudly, “You’re the absolute worst Gemma.”
Both Bella and my mum turn around and smack my stomach with stern faces. “Harry, be nice to your sister”, Bella scolds me.
“Yes Harry be nice”, my mom follows. I roll my eyes again when I see the smirk Gemma’s wearing.
“Oh how I’ve missed you all being together!”, I say with as much sarcasm in my voice as possible. I look over to Bella from my seat across the table and she smiles and winks back to me causing me to smile back to her.

Dinner was so great. Everyone’s just sitting around now eating dessert. It’s like we’re all one big happy family. And in a we kinda are. Bella still gets along with my family perfectly of course. She has the gift of charm, she can get along with almost anyone. Unless they’re just plain rude, then she’ll speak her mind and she tells them to their face how she feels about them. It’s happened before.. She was adorable but could’ve gotten us into lots of trouble. I hate sitting all the way on the other side of the table as her, it’s basically torture. I’m not even within leg length to play footsies. I can’t play with her hair and hold her hand or anything. But Bella looks fine laughing away with Gemma, Danielle, and Eleanor.
“Harold!” Gemma snaps. I look up to her immediately, I zoned out for a minute there. “We’re talking about what you’re all gonna do since you hiatus just started.”
“I’ve actually started to write some new solo music”, Niall peeps up first.
“Me too”, Liam says.
“Uh, me too actually”, Louis chimes in. Great, now everyone’s looking at me.
“Well actually, I got a call from my manager like four or five days ago mentioning a movie”, I start slowly, “but I don’t know if I’m gonna do it with everything happening here.” The only person I can look at is my mum. The reason I’m thinking of not doing it is because of Bella, I don’t want to leave her alone when I’m traveling from London to LA to New York etc. This break was supposed to be so I can spend time with her, even though this really is an amazing opportunity.
“What? Do it mate! You have to!”, Niall pipes up followed by all the other boys encouraging me to do it.
“You should look into it, Harry” my mum says.
I look to Bella. She nods with a smile, “It seems like an amazing opportunity! Definitely look into it!”
I shrug. Maybe.
