Lavender & Roses

XVIII

Sadie stared at the shelf we were in front of like she was deep in thought. I just watched her. As much as I wanted to look around myself, she seemed so relaxed for the first time all day. I felt like I needed to make sure she stayed that way.
"DeeDee, sweetie!" A woman shouted coming over to us. Sadie's head popped up and she smiled brightly. "Oh honey, it's so good to see you!" The woman said wrapping her arms around Sadie tightly. Sadie released my hand and hugged her back. I was a little shocked by it. "How are you, my dear?" The woman asked pulling out of the hug and holding Sadie's face in her hands.
"I'm good, Ellie. I'm good." Sadie replied with a genuine smile.
"Where's Niall?" The woman inquired. Sadie blushed a bit that's when the lady finally looked up at me. "Who is this?" She asked Sadie, letting her hands fall from her face.
"Harry." I smiled warmly, holding my hand out to her.
She shook my hand gently, "Ellie." She looked to Sadie and asked her something in Gaelic. Sadie blushed and shrugged. "Well, he isn't rushing you around the shop so that's a good thing." Ellie turned her eyes back to mine. "Niall grumbles the whole time they're in. Nagging her if she'll be done soon." Ellie informed me. I frowned a bit and caressed the back of Sadie's arm lightly. "It's nice that you don't." Ellie grinned.
"I've got all day." I shrugged, trying not to be mad at Niall. "Baby, if you're going to chat I'm going to look around." I said softly to Sadie. She nodded, her eyes wide. "Are you going to be okay?" I asked.
"Yes." Sadie replied sweetly. Ellie whispered something else to Sadie in Gaelic. Sadie turned bright red once again as I walked away.

Sadie and Ellie were still chatting as I roamed around the store looking at a lot of different things. I went looking for the oils and herbal supplements she had mentioned. I kept my eye on her though. I knew that she still wasn't feeling her best with the way she wrapped her arms around herself and stood back from the woman that was obviously her friend. I sighed and went back to reading the label on the oils. I wanted to find something that would make her relax. She usually had a few different ones in her little machine throughout the night.
"Alright, I'll let you shop with your man." Ellie told Sadie with a smile. Sadie blushed and glared at Ellie. I chuckled and shook my head. I loved how shy she could be.
"Whatcha looking at?" Sadie asked softly, wrapping her arm around mine.
"I found this. Thought it could help you with sleep." I handed her the bottle. Sadie smiled and took the bottle from me. "I looked it up. It won't hurt you with everything else you take." I murmured to her. Sadie nodded and started to read the bottle. After a moment, she started looking through the oils she liked. Sadie picked one up and placed it her other hand with the supplement I had gotten. "What's that?" I asked.
"Oh." She handed it to me. "It's lavender oil. It's used to sooth and calm." She explained.
I opened it and inhaled, "I like this. It's like the perfume you wear." Sadie blushed and took the bottle from my hand. "What?" I chuckled. Sadie shook her head quickly. "Saaaadiiiie." I whined. She glanced up at me from underneath her lashes. "What was that look for?"
"I didn't know you knew that much about my perfume." Sadie whispered.
I pressed my lips to her ear lightly, "All the cuddling we do, I'd be worried if I didn't." Sadie's skin was starting to heat. "And I know that you always put it right here." I touched the spot right between her ear and neck with my lips teasingly. Sadie's skin felt even warmer and she slipped her hand into mine. I placed a full kiss on her neck making her lean into me just a little more. I chuckled when Sadie pushed me away, hearing Ellie giggling from behind the counter. "Come on. Pick out the things you want." I urged her. Sadie went back to looking at the oils but she still held onto my hand. I stroked her soft hand in small circles with my thumb. After a moment, I lifted her hand to my lips. She glanced at me out of the corner of her eye. I smiled cheekily at her and kissed her skin again. She shook her head and started to chewing on her lip. Sadie picked up another oil and looked it over for a moment.
"Nope. Not that one." She quickly put it back on the shelf.
"Why? What is it?" I asked quickly, a little curious about her reaction to it. She ignored me. "Sadie." I whined again.
"Sandalwood." She replied quietly. I heard Ellie laughing behind the counter again.
"What's wrong with that? Doesn't it smell really good?" I asked, still curious about her nervousness and shyness. Sadie sighed and nodded. "Sadie, what is it for?" I chuckled. She frowned and shook her head. "Either you tell me or I look it up." I held up my phone in a teasing manner.
"It's an aphrodisiac. It helps with drive and helps get blood...where it needs to be." She whispered. I smirked and picked it up. "Harry." Sadie groaned. I held it behind my back so she couldn't get to it. "Harry." Sadie whined like I had done to her.
I leaned forward and set my eyes on hers with a smirk, "What's wrong?"
"Stop." She begged. I could see that she was embarrassed and uncomfortable. I pulled her closer and kissed her forehead.
"Sadie, do you want to have sex with me?" I whispered.
"Right this second?" She looked nervous.
I laughed, "No. I mean at all." She blushed and nodded shyly. "Good. Would this make you feel more comfortable?" I asked holding up the bottle. She nodded once again. "I would never make you do what you didn't want to. I know that you get nervous and live in your head. If I can take you out of your head for a little while, then I will do everything I can to soothe you so you'll let me." She stared up at me in disbelief. I set it back down and smiled, "But I won't get it today."
Sadie lifted her eyebrow, "Why not?"
"Ellie is being nosy." I chuckled when I saw how Ellie was leaning over the counter.
"Oh mind your own business, you old bat!" Sadie laughed loudly as she shouted at Ellie. Ellie started laughing as well and went back to doing what she was before. I pulled Sadie close again and kissed her with a sweet sincerity.
"Have you found everything you wanted?" I asked Sadie, trying not to laugh at her and Ellie. She nodded and dragged my toward the counter. Sadie set the bottles in her hands on the counter top. "What are these?" I asked picking up some of her oil bottles.
"Another lavender, tea tree, lemon, grapefruit and chamomile." She replied. "Tea Tree and Lemon are good for energy. If you mix grapefruit and lavender you're calm but awake. And I like mixing chamomile with lavender for when I sleep." Sadie explained. "Still no rose oil?" Sadie asked Ellie.
Ellie shook her head, "No. I can never seem to get the distributor to send it to me. They keep running out. Which is shocking."
"Why is that?" I inquired of the girls.
"It takes sixty-five pounds of roses to make one fifteen milli bottle of rose oil. It's starting price for most brand is about a thousand pounds." Sadie informed me.
"What does it do? Why do you want it?" I was curious as to her need for it.
"Its recommended as an antidepressant. It helps lift your mood. I just thought that maybe it would help." Sadie stated sadly.
"It's also another aphrodisiac." Ellie giggled. Sadie turned bright red. "Its said that Cleopatra took steaming baths in rose petals to entice her lovers." Ellie stated with a sneaky smile as she placed Sadie's things in a bag.
"That's not why I want it." Sadie grumbled. I peeked over at Sadie's crimson cheek and smirked.
I leaned over the counter to Ellie, "You and I should talk. I need to know these things." Sadie slapped my arm lightly.
"Of course. But, until you guys come back to Ireland. Here's a little book." Ellie handed me a tiny book with a lavender sprig on the cover. "It's the basics. Which ones are most popular and what they do." I nodded and slipped the book into my back pocket. Sadie quickly handed Ellie some cash with a bright red face. "It was lovely to meet you." I smiled at Ellie once more.
"You too. I've never seen anyone make her smile so much on a bad day. Not even Niall." Ellie beamed at me. Sadie slipped her hand into mine again, lacing our fingers.
"I try. She even more beautiful when she smiles." I grinned, trying to play the charming man again. Sadie buried her face in my arm as Ellie finished their transaction. Ellie handed Sadie her bag. "Here you go, sweetie." Sadie took the bag with a quiet thank you. "There's something special in there for Harry." Ellie stated with a cheeky grin.
"Oh thanks!" I beamed at her. I was hoping it was more about what things I could do to help Sadie. Ellie seemed really knowledgeable on the homeopathic remedies...Well she should; she owns the store.
"Have a great rest of your trip kids." Ellie said, basically shooing us out the door.

Sadie and I stepped onto the street and I snatched the bag from her hand. She chuckled, knowing I was eager to get to whatever Ellie had placed in the bag for me. I dug around for a moment. Instead of finding a book, I found a bottle of oil that Sadie hadn't picked out. I dropped it and handed the bag back to Sadie.
"Shall we go to the book shop? I think I need a book for my flight." I grinned.
"Yes." Sadie's smile was dazzling. I took her hand once more and led her to the next door. "Wait, what did Ellie give you?" She inquired. I shook my head nervously. "Either you tell me or I'm just going to look." She threatened me with a teasing smile.
"Sandalwood oil." I muttered. Sadie's face turned bright red and she opened her mouth. Before she could get out the full curse word, I slammed my lips to hers. She melted against me and sighed. I held her face in my hands tenderly, trying to ease her embarrassment. I backed out of the kiss only to have her whimper. "Shall we find some books?" I asked when her breathing returned to normal. She nodded slowly. "Good. Let's go. We have to meet Niall and your families soon. It's getting late." I dragged her into the book shop quickly.

"Hey, where the hell have you two been?" Niall shouted at Sadie and I as we approached the group. I could see Maura frowning at Niall's behavior.
"Harry and I spent a lot of time in the natural medicines place. The lady that owns it is my friend." Sadie murmured shyly.
"And then I lost track of time in the book shop. They have a great selection for being such a small place." I stated with the genuine awe that I felt.
Niall took Sadie's hand, "Are you okay?"
"Yes. Niall, I am fine." Sadie grunted at him. Niall nodded and glared at me a little.
"Harry, what did you buy?" Denise laughed seeing the three bags in my hand.
"The whole book shop." Sadie giggled quietly, her eyes locked on my face. "I swear he bought a book from every section of the damn store."
"You know what, you raided the natural medicines shop. I think that it's only fair that I raid the book shop." I teased her back. Sadie stuck her tongue out at me. I snapped my jaw at her, like I would bite her tongue off. Sadie giggled loudly and punched me in the side gently.
"Alright, let's get to dinner. I'm starving." Niall groaned, pushing Sadie and I toward the restauraunt.

Notes

Again, a little boring. I apologize but I swear that this explains things that happen later on. It's important just...a little lack-luster.
