Chapter Thirty-Eight
My phone started ringing in the middle of the night. All of the boys groaned.
"sorry boys." I said reaching over for my phone. It said unknown number. Fuck Andre you're calling me at two in the morning. I got out of bed and out of the room.
"Hello?"
"Hey baby sister." I heard my brothers voice come from the other end of the phone.
It's my brother. IT'S MY BROTHER. I let out a little screech.
"Oh my gosh! Bubba I have missed you." I said with tears of joy rolling down my cheeks.
"I have missed you too." He said, I can tell he was smiling.
"What are you doing calling me! You should be calling your wife.!" I exclaimed.
"Hey it's no problem. I'm coming home." He said.
"I know but that is in a couple of months. You should be talking to your wife." I said.
"No, Breanne I'm coming home. Like right now." He said.
"What?! Oh my gosh bubba you have to meet Niall! He's so wonderful!" I said excitedly.
"If you think he is wonderful I know he is." He said.
"Oh bubba?" I said sadly.
"Yes baby girl?" He said worried.
"mom left me." I said sadly.
"She what?!" He yelled.
"She left me three years ago to leave me to go with some guy names Kevin." I said choking back the tears.
"Okay I knew she was a bitch.! But I didn't think she would do this to you. You are so precious. You're my little gem."
"Awww bubba! I love you!"
"I love you too. I have to go. See you soon. When I get home I'll grab the little one and my girl and we will be down to see you."
"Okay. Bye." He hung up. Even though we didn't get to talk to him for long I got to hear his voice. I haven't heard it in a long time. The voice that gave me advices when I was 13 and going through the boy troubles. The voice that would sing to me when my father was gone at work. He was there until mom kicked him out. She told me it was for my good, but she probably hated how close we were. I wonder how different my life would be if mom didn't kick Ryan out. I guess that is something I will ever figure out. Life is funny that way if you change one little thing it's could change everything. And honestly I love how my life is now, I know my father is dead and my mom left me but that's what made me stronger. I learned to live on my own at a young age. As I think of these things I walk back into the room. I set my phone back down on the nightstand and crawled into bed with Niall.
"Princess?" Niall said sleepily.
"Yes babe?" I asked facing him.
"Who called." He asked.
"It was my brother." I said happily.
"Your brother. I thought he was in the army." Niall asked confused.
"He is... Or was. They released him today! He's coming home." I said with a huge smile on my face.
"He is? Am I going to meet him?" He asked.
"Yes! But he said you must be wonderful if I think your wonderful."
"How does he know you think I'm wonderful?"
"Because I told him."
"Awww baby girl! I love you!"
"I love you too! But we should go to sleep its two am!" I said snuggling into his bare chest.
"You're right! Night beautiful."
He said while kissing the top of my head.
"Night." I said while closing my eyes, almost instantly fell asleep to a great dream.
