- And? - Hunter asked curiously.
- And nothing. Photographers showed up and we left. - Nyssa said.
- So no kiss? - He asked her.
- No kiss.
- You sound dissapointed. - Hunter commented.
- Oh, please. - Nyssa rolled her eyes.
''No wonder he didn't believe, that was a terrible poker face.''
- Yeah, okay. - Hunter said sarcastically. - When are you going out again?
- Who said we were going out again?
- You said no? - He asked her in disbelief.
- No.
- So you said yes?
- No.
- What? - Hunter was confused.
''So was I, trust me.''
- That makes no sense. - He told her.
Nyssa chuckled and nodded in agreement.
- Your boyfriend's here. - Hunter said while looking at the entrance.
Michael walked into the Hillside Cafe, this time without a friend.
- Shut up. - Nyssa warned Hunter.
- You're cute when you're angry. - Hunter laughed.
- Why am I even friends with you?
- Because you love me... And secretly want to get into my pants.
''Jesus, you make out with a guy once and he suddenly thinks you want to marry him. Note the sarcasm.''
- Ha ha. - Nyssa laughed sarcastically.
- Oh, come on, you know you love me. - He said and smiled like a goof.
- Maybe a little. - Nyssa said. - You can be entertaining sometimes.
- Only sometimes? Alright, that's it... - Hunter acted offended. - I want a divorce!
''I love that idiot.''
- I hope I'm not interupting anything. - Michael said, startling the two friends.
- As the matter of fact, you are. We're in the middle of a divorce. - Nyssa told him.
Michael chuckled nerviously.
- Well, could that wait for just one minute, I...I wanna talk to you. - His cheeks were once again matching his hair.
- I don't know... Hubby, what do you think? - Nyssa jokingly asked Hunter.
''Michael looked so uncomfortable.''
- I think you should go, it looks important to him...or he's just constipated. - Hunter said.
''I think it's pretty obvious why we're friends.''
- You're an idiot. - Nyssa said trough laughter, before getting up and going outside with Michael.
- I like your friend. - Michael said once they were outside the cafe.
Nyssa chuckled.
- Yeah, he used to be shy and quiet... - She said. - I created a monster.
''Yeah, he was never shy and quiet... But that's why we even became friends in the first place, neither was I... Not when I met him, at least.''
Michael smiled, before becoming serious again, or rather nervious.
''He really did look constipated. I'm completely serious.''
- I wanted to ask you something. - He said nerviously, while looking at the ground, his hand in his hair.
- I'm sorry, were you speaking to me or an ant? - Nyssa asked him, causing him to look up into her bright blue eyes.
- Sorry. - He said apologetically.
- Michael, I'm kidding. - Nyssa said. - What's going on with you?
- I...I just came to... - He took a deep breath. - Look, I know last night was a disaster, to say the least, but is there any chance you'd go out with me again?
- Yeah, sure. - Nyssa right away.
''Nyssa, you idiot! What were you thinking?''
Michael looked at her, surprised.
- Yeah?
- Seriously, again with that?
- Sorry. - He chuckled slightly.
- Why do you always doubt everything I say? - Nyssa asked him curiously.
Michael thought for a few seconds before answering.
- Right now? Because I don't why a beautiful girl like you would want to go out with someone like me. - Michael said truthfully, his eyes not leaving hers for a seconds.
''I'll be right back... I'm just gonna go throw up.''
Nyssa rolled her eyes.
- You don't believe me?
- No, I don't.
Michael stepped closer to her. He licked his lips before leaning in for a kiss. Nyssa put her hand on his chest, stopping him.
- When's the date, love? - Nyssa asked.
She could feel his heart skip a beat when she called him love.
''I call everyone love, love... Don't get ahead of yourself.''
He stepped back before answering. - Tonight at nine?
- Alright. Meet me here. - Nyssa said.
- Alright. - Michael smiled widely.
Nyssa turned around and started walking towards the cafe's entrance. Right when she reached the door, she turned around one last time.
- Don't be late. I won't wait this time. - She said before walking in and closing the door behind her.
- Not your type, huh? - Nyssa was greeted by Hunter standing in front of the door.
- Jesus! - He startled her. - Eavesdropping much?
- You're just gonna pretend I didn't ask you anything? - Hunter asked.
- Yes, I am.
Hunter chuckled.
- So, who's gonna be your maid of honor? - Hunter asked. - I mean, I would be glad to do it, but I don't want you to feel intimidated by standing next to me in a dress, because we all know I would look bomb.
- You really are an idiot. - Nyssa said trough a small laughter.
- What? You don't think I would look good in a dress?
- No, I have to see it to believe it.
- Well, after a few drinks at your place tomorrow you might get a chance see it. - Hunter said, putting his arm over her shoulders.
- Alright, it's a deal. - Nyssa said. - But you're buying.
Hunter laughed.
- Deal.
- Bring some snacks too.
- You want me to rob a supermarket while I'm at it?
- No, but you could rent us a movie to watch. - Nyssa suggested.
- Anything else, Your Highness?
- You sure you want to divorce me now that I'm a queen? - Nyssa asked him.
- I don't know, it's a tough choice... I don't want to divorce you, but you just don't appreciate me enough. - Hunter started fake crying. - Sometimes I think you don't love me anymore.
They tried to keep the act going, but they just couldn't stop themselves from laughing.
''I'm glad that idiot's my best friend.''
Notes
I hope you like this chapter...
This chapter centers a bit more on Nyssa and Hunter's friendship than on Nyssa and Michael's relationship, but, either way, I hope you enjoyed it.
Thank you so much for reading.
