Fuck. Fuck. Fuck
I can't do this. I looked at the small shot glass in my hand. All eyes were on me as they awaited for me to throw my head back and let the liquid run down my throat. This will be the first time I ever had liquor in my system. I was never the type to go out of my way and get drunk at parties but after what happened today, I really didn't care anymore. My friends chanted me on as I place the cool glass to my bottom lip before tipping my head back and letting the liquor run down my throat. The burning sensation was to much for me but I knew if I had acted upon it then people would laugh. I've been laughed at way to many times in my life and it's time for a change. I placed the glass back on the table as I received many slaps on the back for my "achievement". I stood still for a moment waiting to make sure the liquor didn't take its toll on me but as soon as I realized nothing was going to happen I walked away from the table and towards my friend Julissa.
"Kylie, I want you to meet Collin." I smiled at the boy who sat next to my friend. He was very handsome he had blue eyes, black hair and his facial features were absolutely stunning. I gave him a small wave before sitting next to my friend and tuning myself out of there conversation as they continued on with their talk. I thought back to the events that occurred earlier that led me to this god forsaken party.
***********
"Kylieann Rose. You have 10 seconds to come down here." I groaned at the sound of mothers voice as I slowly descended the steps. Once at the bottom I saw my mother holding a paper in her hand with a scowl on her face.
"What's the matter." A small chuckle escaped her lips as she waved the paper in my face.
"You tell me. Why did I find this in our mail?" She handed me the paper. I took it from her and flipped it over to read what it had said. It was a letter to my father. I had forgotten that I left it down here. It must have gotten mixed up with the rest of the mail.
"It's a letter to dad." She rolled her eyes before snatching the paper out of my hand.
"Exactly. I told you many times not to write to him. He does not want to speak to any of us. I don't understand what has gotten into you. Just because you are almost 18 years old does not mean you will ever have the freedom of an adult. You will not write to your father while you are underneath my roof. It was his decision to go to jail. And it's my decision to make sure you have no contact with him. Do you understand me!" I hadn't realized the tears rolling down my eyes until I felt them hit my hands that were crossed just beneath my chest. I hated this. I couldn't even speak to my father. He was arrested when I was 15. That was 2 years ago. Ever since then I had secretly been writing to him and when my mother found out she just flipped.
She didn't want anything to do with me up until a year ago when she made me promise never to write to him again. Of course I couldn't do that. I missed my father. Every night I would write to him. Even though I knew I wouldn't be able to send them, I still wrote them so the day he came back to me I would be able to give it to him.
"I don't understand why I can't write to him. He still loves me. He just doesn't love you." I couldn't stop the words as they tumbled out of my mouth. There soon was a stinging sensation on my face as I looked up at my mother holding the now probably bruised cheek.
"Go up to your room and don't you dare say another word!" I looked at her with pure shock. Never in her life did she ever lay a hand on me. It was clear that she realized her mistake as she tried to reach out to me but I immediately stepped back making my way towards the front door.
"Kylie!" I looked to Julissa as she laughed at me for not paying attention to her.
"I'm sorry. I was just thinking about something." She just smiled at me.
"I said that my mom wants to go to England for the summer and she just texted me and you will not believe what she did." I looked at her confusion clear across my face. She just stared at me as if I knew what she was going to say.
"Well...."
"Oh right, well she bought an extra ticket and she asked your mom if you could come and she said yes. You're coming to England with me!" No fucking way. I'm going to England with my best friend. I'm surprised my mother said yes. Maybe it's her way of apologizing for hitting me. I smiled and hugged my best friend as we went over the many things to do in England. The rest of the night went by pretty quickly I ended up at home around midnight and made my way upstairs. The minute I stepped on the last step my mothers door opened.
"Where have you been Kylie?" I rolled my eyes as I pushed past her and into my room.
"I was at a party with Julissa." I heard her sigh as she took a seat on my bed. Great. Here comes a lecture.
"I'm sending you to England for the summer with Julissa and her family." I already knew this.
"I'm sending you because you need to work on your attitude. I'm sick and I've had enough of it." I looked at her in disbelief. I thought this was a apology but it turns out it's just so I can work on myself. I couldn't handle this. I was tired and I just wanted to sleep.
"I want to go to bed. Please leave." I looked at the ground as I spoke to her. But thankfully she listened and got up walking towards my door.
"I don't want you think I'm doing this as a punishment. I want what's best for you." Then she walked out. I can't believe her. Honestly at this point I don't care. If she thinks that just cause she's sending me to England I will be upset she thought wrong. I'll be with my best friend having fun. I got up from my bed and started taking off my clothes and changing into a pair of shorts and tank top. I climbed into my bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was asleep. My dream being overtaken by a pair of green eyes.
