Ruined Just By A Smile
I'm Here Again!
4hrs Earlier
I was standing on top of the roof keeping a close eye on my suspect. I lay down getting ready to Fire, with my sniper gun in front of me, my eye held up to the cold glass. My finger slowly pushing against the trigger. I shoot. I miss. Everyone around my target ducks, my opponent runs looking back every so often. I roll across the roof to face him. I shoot. Mission accomplished.
'Remi?!' My eyes slowly open, wincing at the light coming through my cream curtains. I look around as I do every morning, scanning the room for something new. Or at least different. It was the same routine day in day out. There was never any change, my parents didn't like change, it scared them to much, giving our family background.
'Remi Rosella! Get your Bare arse here now!' I sit up against the head board of my bed, listening to my mother's voice echo down the hall. Her voice was strong and unique just like her, which was until she met my dad. My mother's always been an independent woman. She still is, but she follows my farther's footsteps and expects me to as well.
I sigh as I scrabble out of bed, quickly slipping into my jogging bottoms and tank top, my usual running gear. I begin my run about 8:48, I keep a steady pace and take the long way round. I find myself staring at the floor. In a second I see my right foot then my left. I look to the left and see another pair of trainers, black Nike Blazers with a shining white tick. I look up to find a tall mysterious looking guy running next to me. He smiles widely showing off his bright teeth and extremely hot dimples. I look up to his glistening eyes and feel my heart stop. Funny thing is so did my feet. I feel my feet stiffen up and drag behind. Next thing I know I'm on my back staring up at the sky. I sit up and look around, he had disappeared. I struggle to my feet and brush off the dirt from my arse and thighs. I sigh looking down at my battered graffiti print joggers. I take a deep breath and continue with my run hoping I didn't bump into the boy again. I take the shorter route home as I have been out longer than I usually am.
I run through a set of sprinklers on the way home, to make it seem I had gone further that I usually do. Just in case my parents ask. I shake my hair as I let it down, covering where the water didn't reach.
I sprint up to my room, hoping I don't get caught.
'Remi Maria Rosella' My father yells from the kitchen. Now I knew I was in trouble. I stumble down the stairs slowly, dreading what my parents will say. I stand in the door way leaning against the frame.
'What's gotten into you!' My father yells standing up.
'What have I done?' I question, acting innocent knowing exactly what I had done.
'Another fight? Are you trying to draw attention to our family? Why can't you be like your siblings?!' he growls angrily
'Carlos calm down!' my mother snarls. 'get straight to the point!' she adds
'Remi, we are sending you to a therapist.'
'WHAT?! I don't need it!' I argue, but I knew for a fact I didn't have a choice in the matter.
'YOU'RE GOING WEITHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT! Hayden is a close friend and knows about the family profession. He is...' I start to drown my father out with thoughts about what has happened these last 17 years.
Present Time
I'm here again, the same spot, same chair, the same towering building the wind whistled against. I know where I am, then again I don't have a clue. My mind runs wild, my eyes dart around the room picking out things I had seen before and objects I hadn't.
My eyes lock onto a tall figure sitting on the opposite chair in the distance. My eyes scan the figure up and down, looking for distinct features. I start with his deep brown, which suddenly meet mine. My eyes quickly travel down to his pale pink lips that almost match his skin, which are now curving into a smile. I slowly glance up to his hair, perfectly messy black hair. He chuckles
"Having fun?" he smirks childishly.
"Sorry" I blush instantly.
He slowly changes seat to place himself next to me. He examines my body.
"I just thought I knew you. But I don't. I didn't mean to stare. Honestly" I stutter embarrassed.
"it's perfectly fine love. In fact you do seem familiar... What's your name?" I hesitate to say. As soon as my name is announced people board up their homes and lock their children away. No-one wants to know the real me. I don't want to carry on the family profession like my siblings. I can hardly defend my self, let alone aim a gun at someone's head.
"Miss Remi?" yells the old wrinkled lady slumped over the desk. I stand up quickly pulling down the back of my short tartan school skirt. I glance down at the mysterious boy, he looks back up and smiles, his insanely cute dimples set my mind to the kid that disappeared this morning. It was him! This beautiful creature that sat next to me was the mysterious jogger! My trail of thought was cut short due to the old wrinkled lady calling my name again.
I stride off to Dr. Hayden's room. Hayden was a extremely close friend the family, so he understood aspects of my relatives. I take a deep breath on entering,
"Remi. Maria. Rosella. Haven't you grown up!" he grins brightly opening his arms out for a warm hug. I smile back politely and unsurely, really dreading being here.
"now Remi, I hear you've been getting into fights? Care to explain?" he asks, pointing to a black lounge chair in the corner of the room with his pen.
