Luna’s POV

Today’s date is August 26. Today’s my birthday. And I started it running away from my boyfriend.

I’ve been walking around the streets of LA. There haven’t really been a lot of paps outside, but maybe I’m just missing them. My phone’s been ringing with calls from Niall at first, then Harry, Louis, and Liam. I just put my phone on silent and continue walking.

It’s already 10 o’clock. I’ve been walking for 4 hours! My stomach is grumbling so I decide I should stop and get some breakfast before trying to figure out how to get back to the hotel.

A bell on the door rings as I walk into the Starbucks shop. I’ll get a chocolate chip muffin and a mocha frappucino. Why not? After all, it is my birthday. I don’t think anyone actually knows it’s my birthday though. I mean, I’m sure some fans must’ve figured it out, but I never told any of the guys. I wonder if Niall knows…

I decide to sit in a far table in the corner of the shop to eat my muffin. I log onto Twitter and see a bunch of “Happy Birthday Luna” tweets. Well, I guess everyone knows.

At that moment, I get an incoming call from Liam. I should answer it so they don’t get too worried about me.

“Hello?” I say as I swallow a bite of chocolate chip muffin.

“Luna!” he says a little too loudly, “Happy birthday, but where the hell are you? Also, why didn’t you tell any of us it’s your birthday?” I hear the other guys whispering on the other line.

“Thanks and I’ve been out for a walk all morning. As for the whole why-I-didn’t-tell-anyone part, I don’t know, it just never came up.” It’s true. They never asked and I never had an actual opportunity to tell them. Not even Niall or Harry.

“Ok where are you right now? We wanna come get you.”

I sigh and roll my eyes even though they can only hear me sigh, “I don’t want you to come get me. That’s why I’m only just now picking up my calls. I’ll walk back to the hotel now. I’m more or less four hours away.”

“Four hours?!?!” I hear a deeper English voice say. I guess Liam put me on speaker because now Harry is talking.

“Yup so I have to go. See y’all later!” I say quickly and hang up. I laugh to myself at how surprised they are that I’m four hours away. Oops :)

Niall’s POV

I log onto Twitter and my heart drops.

“Um, why are there all of these “Happy Birthday Luna” tweets on my timeline?”, Louis says as he looks up to me.

“I-I didn’t know. D-did you?” I stutter out and look at Harry. His eyes are wide looking at the screen as he shakes his head no.

The only thing I’ve felt today is guilt. I cheated on Luna last night. Then I came home and made love to her. Then I woke up and she wasn’t there. Now, she’s been ignoring all of our texts and calls AND on top of that it’s her birthday and none of us even knew. I want to cry.

“Luna!”, I hear Liam exclaim. We all look at him with big eyes.

“Put it on speaker!” I whisper-yell as I hit Liam’s arm. He says something else before putting her on speaker.

“Thanks and I’ve been out for a walk all morning. As for the whole why-I-didn’t-tell-anyone part, I don’t know, it just never came up.” It should’ve come up though. I was her boyfriend and I didn’t even know. I am her boyfriend, not was. I still am for now…

“Ok where are you right now? We wanna come get you.” I roll my eyes as I hear Luna sigh. She’s way too independent to have to be picked up. She’ll never let us come pick her up.

“I don’t want you to come get me. That’s why I’m only just now picking up my calls.” Told ya so Liam!!, “I’ll walk back to the hotel now. I’m more or less four hours away.” Wait, what?!

“Four hours?!?!”, Harry yells. Yikes, she’s been gone for awhile.

“Yup so I have to go. See y’all later!” We all groan as we hear the beep and the line goes silent, meaning she hung up on us.

I laugh to myself though. I don’t know why but the word “y’all” just makes me laugh.

“It’s her birthday?”, Harry repeats again slower and softer. We always do something when it’s one of our birthdays. We have something planned for the afternoon and then we usually go out to dinner and then clubbing while we all get smashed. We can’t just do that with Luna though. And we’ve obviously had no time to plan anything. We don’t even have a single present for her. And she’s my girlfriend!

Liam’s phone vibrates, “Luna’s taking a cab back here so she’ll be here in half an hour”, Liam reads off his phone to us all.

“Guys. It’s her birthday.” Harry says again.

“I know, Harry. We get it. We’re all missing her birthday because none of us even knew it was her birthday to begin with.” I snap. I feel terrible.

“So what are we gonna do?” Louis says.

No one replies. Great, we’re all clueless. “She’s probably pissed at me. She hasn’t even talked to me since we had sex last night. She didn’t even leave me a note thi-”

“You did WHAT last night?!”, Harry yells of the sudden.

I can feel my face go red as I realize what I just said. If Harry was mad at me last night, he’s about to kill me right now.

“You can’t just do that, Niall! I get that we’re ‘popstars’ or whatever, but Luna’s human and you can’t just go around sleeping with whoever you want when you’re out making out with a completely different person! Imagine how used she feels!” Harry rants on at me, “You don’t deserve her. She’s like a sister to me. We’re her family right now, she needs us. No matter she left you this morning. And on her birthday, too!!” Harry just keeps going.

We’re all surprised at how mad he just got. I don’t even have anything to say. I know that I made so many stupid moves in the past 24 hours, but I just need to talk to Luna about it all. She needs to come here soon.
