Kiko’s POV

I looked at the alarm clock; it read 7:00am. I hit the snooze button, and 5 minutes later I checked it again, but it read 8:00am. I was late. Here I was in the middle London, living with my 4 best friends, in a two story studio apartment. We all had our own little things going on, doing what we loved. I did advertising, while Tegan studied at university and worked at an art gallery, Zoe worked at a pub, while Jess worked as a stylist, and lastly Georgia worked at a clothing store. I got up and looked in the mirror; there I saw an 18 year old, in a foreign country living her dream. Not super tall but not super short, just in the middle as I see it. Brown pixie haircut; half Asian, a girl who originally thought she was born in the wrong generation, as she loved everything sixties. I was late for an extremely important job interview, which was going to make or break my career as an advertiser and project manager.
The interview was scheduled for 9:00am, and it usually took me an hour to get ready. I slapped on some makeup, put on my best clothes and headed towards the train station. I caught the train, just on time and found no seats to sit on. As soon as it was my stop, I bolted towards the exit, to hit the streets. My day was all ready unlucky, but then my heel broke. I knew I shouldn’t have bought a cheap pair. I looked like a mess, only ONE heel had broken, and I was still tired as hell. Then a few seconds later, some rude and arrogant person bumped into me, making me drop my papers for the interview. Then my luck changed, some nice young man came up and helped me pick up my papers. He knew I was distressed, I looked up, and he looked so familiar. As soon as he spoke, I knew who he was, it was Liam Payne.
He looked me straight into my eyes and asked “Doesn’t seem like you’ve had a good day?” and then laughed. I was still worried and anxious about my job interview, so I said back “I’m really sorry, I’ve got to go, but thank you so much for helping and…” he interrupted! I was in a middle of a sentence, trying to explain, but no. He said “Are sure you want to go, do you want to talk about what happened? Let me guess, dressing like you are…. You’re going to an ‘important’ job interview, and you’re extremely late. Am I right?” I answered back “Ummm yes, but how’d you…” “I know these things.” Liam replied. I was still shocked that I was standing in the middle of London with only one heel on, and looking right at Liam. I think he felt bad for bumping into me, because he then offered to take me to the coffee shop around the corner.
The coffee shop appeared to be a small retro indie style coffee place, which made me pleased as I like indie looking things. I agreed, because well I had just received a text from the interviewer saying “We are so sorry, but we have found someone else to do the job. Kind Regards.” That’s all they sent me, just a little text. Thanks. Liam took me to the coffee shop, still holding my papers, he ordered me something, and I was too worried to do anything, so I just sat in the booth in the corner. When Liam walked over with the coffees, he asked “Hey, I still don’t know your name.” “It’s Kiko.” I replied. I took a sip of the coffee, and it was delicious, the frothy creamy caramel went into my heart, that fuzzy warm feeling. By the look on his face he was amused for some strange reason. “What?” I questioned. “You’ve got a little froth on your nose.” “Well I’m glad someone’s happy today.” I said while wiping my nose. “Hey I’ve noticed, your accent is a bit funny, I mean you’re an Asian with a really strong Australian accent?” Liam asked confused. “Well technically I’m half Asian, and secondly I’m from Australia. I’m living in London with my friends. We’ve only be here for a month, everything is so cute and exciting.” I replied giggling. Liam smiled back, “So what was this ‘important’ job interview that you couldn’t miss?” he asked. “Well I’m an advertiser ‘slash’ project manager, and this was going to be one of my first ever big jobs, working for a big corporation. But now it’s not going to happen anymore. Oh and I also broke my heel, so I’ll have to buy a new one. Lucky me” I said. Liam was quiet for a bit while he was drinking his coffee, I was nervous for some strange reason.
Oh no I’m about to talk to myself. I’m a One Direction fan, and all my other friends had definite favourites, while I’ve always loved all of them equally. But if I had to say my favourite it would have to be Harry. He’s just so adorable and funny. I’m not really the type of girl that boys like, well boys like the typical ‘big boobs, long hair, and super skinny body’ which not everyone has. I’m not really the type of girl who changes herself for someone, because I want them to like me for who I am, and not a fake. I like to be different and individual. I can be really hyperactive and silly sometimes, but when I need to be I can be quite sensible and mature, but only if I need to be. “Kiko… hello are you in this world?” Liam asked. As usual I was day dreaming, good job Kiko. “Ummm sorry just thinking about what I’ll do next…” “Well about that, I just texted the lads…how would you feel about possibly becoming our new project manager” Liam surprisingly said. I couldn’t believe it, just a few minutes ago, I thought all my hard effort had gone to waste, thrown out the window. When god closes a door, he opens a window. My mood changed I was so ecstatic; I nearly spilled my coffee over Liam, which would have been even more embarrassing. “OMG, are you serious, you better not be messing with me! Wait are you sure this is Liam Payne? Am I dreaming? Holy moly.” Liam just smiled and nodded. He told me he had to go see the lads, and that he’ll text me about all the details. I handed him my resume, and he went on his way. As he stood up he turned and said “I’ll see you later then aye?
