Live Shows: Week 2 – Part 2

Harry’s POV

Saturday, 1st October

To Kaylie: My dressing room – now ;) x

I didn’t hesitate in sending her the text. I needed to hug her before she left. I needed to kiss her before she was gone again. She had proved me right tonight in doing such an amazing job with her performance. Her voice sounded just as incredible singing a pop song as did it when she sang a slow ballad. Kaylie had shown another side of herself to the nation, just like I had wished she would. My phone sounded with a ‘ping’ and it was a text from Kaylie.

From Kaylie: I’m coming x

She’s on her way.
I wanted to see my angel again. I knew she had to go home and re-join her family but I just wanted to have 10 minutes with her, to tell her how proud I was of her. I tossed my phone onto the couch and began to pace up and down the length of my dressing room. I rubbed my hands together, waiting, thinking about Kaylie’s body clothed in that long blue and black dress, perfectly hugging her waist and breasts. How can she not think she’s beautiful? She was absolutely stunning and always made me want to go down on my knees. She was all mine and I was all hers.

Two gentle knocks on my door told me that she was here. I opened the door and smiled when I saw that she was still in her outfit, diamond earrings dangling from her earlobes and she was heightened 10cm by her black heels. She took my breath away once again.

“Come in, Kaylie.” I said.

The caramel-haired beauty walked inside, the sound of her heels echoing off the walls. I closed the door as soon as she was inside and locked it; I didn’t want anyone to walk in on us. Not now. I looked over my shoulder to see Kaylie bending over to put her phone on the table. I smiled to myself as I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her waist, pressing my front to her back. I grabbed all of her soft hair and draped it over her right shoulder, exposing her fair neck. I gently pressed my lips to her skin as Kaylie rested her delicate hands over mine.

“You were amazing tonight, angel. My diamond.” I murmured in her ear as I held her even tighter against me. My angel was also my diamond now. She always shone like one, lighting up my life in a way I never thought was possible. I inhaled the sweet perfume that lingered on her skin, closing my eyes softly. This is where I wanted to be. Holding a gorgeous girl in my arms in private, admiring at how amazing she smelt and how perfect she made me feel. She just made me feel so happy and I hoped that she was just as happy as I was.

“Am I your girlfriend?”

I opened my eyes and loosened my arms from around her waist. I looked at Kaylie to see she was staring straight ahead. I followed her gaze and saw our reflection in the large horizontal mirror. She looked stunning in my arms, her skin aglow under the bright light, her caramel hair shining beautifully. I placed my chin on her shoulder and gripped her waist tightly again, moving my hands underneath hers.

“What sort of a question is that?” I inquired, shocked.

I couldn’t believe she had even asked that question. How can my beautiful angel doubt what we have? Kaylie looked at the floor and I could sense her discomfiture; it was written all over her face and the way she hung her head low. I tucked loose strands of her hair behind her ear just as my lips brushed the rounded tip of it. I took hold of her waist and turned her around. She still didn’t look at me. I made her raise her eyes to mine by titling her chin up and she blinked through her shining eyes. I had waited far too long to finally tell her what she was to me. It’s my fault. I should have told her earlier than she wouldn’t have had to ask that question. I gazed down at her lovingly and moved the pad of my thumb over her smooth lips, tracing the curve of them.

“Of course you’re my girlfriend.”

Her reaction was priceless and I could only smile at her when she gasped quietly. Her milk chocolate eyes grew big as she gripped the lapels of my suit jacket with her petite fingers.

“W-W-What?” Kaylie choked out.

I chuckled underneath my breath and raised my hands to cup her face. I leaned down and gently pressed my lips to hers. The kiss started off slow and soft but it soon became more heated. Kaylie grabbed my neck with her hands and pulled my face down closer to hers so she could kiss me harder. I obliged and held onto her waist, tugging her closer to me so that our chests were touching. She twisted my long curls around her fingers and pulled, yanking at the roots, which made me unleash a deep growl. The single kiss developed into many more, growing more eager and hotter than the previous one. My heart raced at a million miles an hour when my tongue traced the roof of her warm mouth before her tongue tangled deliciously with my own. We stood there, exploring each other’s lips beautifully, just the two of us. The celebrity and his angel. This angel with me was indeed my girlfriend and I felt so blessed to call her that. She was all mine.

I guided myself over to the side and sat down on the armrest of the couch, never unlocking my lips from Kaylie’s. I pulled her close, letting her stand in between my open legs. I angled my head up a little so she could kiss more and she took her position to her advantage. Her mouth engaged with mine persuasively, much harder and sizzling with desire. I let out more growls and grunts, completely turned on by her dominant control over my lips, as her fingers tightened their hold on my hair, gripping the strands securely. Wow… Kaylie didn’t understand how much of a good kisser she was, how aroused I was from the pressure of her mouth on mine. Lord, she makes me feel so good… I felt so much pleasure being with her, kissing her, calling her mine. It was perfect. My hands moved up to her shoulders, my fingertips gently caressing her smooth throat, just as our mouths broke apart for a split second. I heard Kaylie suck in a breath before I kissed her over and over again. It was never enough for me.

“My angel…” I breathed, my lips skimming over hers ever so gently. Our mouths came together again for one more sweet kiss before I glided my lips all the way along her softly-curved jawline, kissing my way down to her neck. I felt her pulse quicken underneath my lips but that only made me kiss her more. I felt her hands constrict in my hair as her name fell from my lips, barely a whisper. I gripped the other side of her neck with my fingers while I wrapped my other arm around her waist, never letting her escape from my hold. She was in my prison now and she wasn’t ever going to leave. I had wanted to experience this feeling with Kaylie from the moment I first saw her. I had longed to find out what her lips tasted like, how it would feel to have her tremble with joy in my arms, how it would feel to tangle my fingers in her long wavy caramel hair, how silky her skin would be underneath my kisses. Every aspect of her was beautiful, from the colour of her eyes to her beating golden heart. She was everything I wanted in a girl. I had always wished to find someone that made me feel happy, that could set my heart on fire with a single look, that could still set butterflies loose in my stomach after so many weeks. And I believed I had finally found that someone.

“Harry…” Kaylie whispered, her lips brushing against my ear. She leaned into me as I continued to envelop her neck with as many kisses as possible, soft wet sounds of our lips breaking apart and coming together again filling the room. My name on her tongue made a certain organ of mine stiffen with arousal. Her voice set every single vein in my body alight with a searing fire and I absolutely cherished the feeling. Just as I was about to move my lips back up to Kaylie’s, I heard my name being called by someone else. Then, there were two knocks on the locked door and the voice called my name again.

“Harry!”

I kept my lips to Kaylie’s neck and I felt my angel freeze in my arms. I opened my eyes but didn’t move at all. She didn’t either. I knew whose voice it was. It was a voice I knew all too well. But I didn’t want to hear it now. Not now, please! But it was too late. The person on the other side of the door wouldn’t go away because they never did when they wanted something.

That was Simon Cowell for you.

0*0

I removed my mouth from my angel’s neck and leaned back to look at her. Her face had turned dead white and her eyes were wide with fear. She looked absolutely terrified. Right then, she was the vulnerable 18-year-old girl that was scared. I stroked her cheeks with my fingers and I looked around my room to see if there was a place she could hide. I caught sight of the bathroom, the door ajar. I jerked my head in its direction and Kaylie immediately caught on, nodding her head. She ran out of my arms and went into the bathroom, closing the door silently, her dress and hair disappearing into the darkness.

I fixed my hair up, running my hands through the messy curls, and stood up, straightening my suit jacket and rubbing my palms on the back of my thighs. I approached the door quietly and unlocked it, swinging it open.

“I’ve been looking for you everywhere.” Simon said, walking inside without an invitation from me. He didn’t exactly need one. He freaking ran the whole place.

“Really? Why?” I asked as I closed the door. My ex-mentor tuned to face me, collapsing onto the armrest of the couch, right where I had sat when Kaylie and I made out not one minute ago. I gulped at the memory and managed to hold back my idiotic smile. Simon’s face didn’t spell happiness. He looked angry. Concerned. Worried.

“Is something wrong?” I pressed further.

“Yes, there is, Harry.”

I immediately feared the worst. Has he found out about Kaylie and I? Is he going to tell me that she’s been eliminated? Please don’t tell me that, Simon. Please… I couldn’t lose her. If she left…I didn’t know what would become of me.

“I’ve heard about a…troubling matter.” Simon sighed.

“What troubling matter?” I was curious now. Does this have to do with Kaylie or not? I was getting more desperate by the second. Simon folded his arms and tapped his shiny black dress shoe on the floor, his eyes full of distress.

“After the show finished tonight, I walked past the wardrobe department and saw one of your contestants, a Melody DeVico, on the phone, telling the person on the other end of the line that you and her have been meeting up in secret in the studios, gallivanting around and flirting whenever you two have five minutes to spare.”

What?!” I shouted. I was shocked. Disgusted. Offended. I had never flirted Melody and I certainly didn’t have any plans to at all. My flirting, my sweet compliments, my loving remarks belonged to Kaylie and no-one else. Certainly not Melody. I felt sorry for Kaylie because she had heard every word from her hiding place in the bathroom. I didn’t hear any noises, not even a sob, come from there. It was completely quiet.

“Please tell me it’s not true, Harry.” Simon said.

“It’s not!”

“Because if it is…” He warned.

“I’m telling you the truth, Simon! I’ve never flirted Melody and even if I did, I wouldn’t do it here in the studios.” I stated, knowing it was dangerous letting these words leave my mouth. I had been flirting and sneaking around with someone in the studios, multiple times.

Kaylie.

“Then why would she tell someone that you’ve been flirting with her?” Simon asked, his upper lip curling. Oooh, he’s not happy.

“I don’t know. Ask Melody. But I have not flirted with her and I won’t ever flirt with her. She’s not my type.” I said. It was true. Sure, Melody was attractive but it was her personality that didn’t make me want her. She was overly confident in everything she did and she clearly showed off her beautiful body and face, taking anything she could to her advantage. She wasn’t cute like Kaylie. She wasn’t sweet like Kaylie. She didn’t make me feel the way Kaylie made me feel. Kaylie was the only girl for me and the fact that Melody had blatantly been spreading stories of me liking her in a romantic flirty way, it made me sick to my stomach.

“You’re not lying to me, are you, Harry?”

“Simon, you’ve known me for over six years. Don’t you trust me?” I asked, my face dropping in sadness. Simon and I had grown close ever since we first met when the boys and I had been contestants on the show. He had been there for us since the very beginning and I hoped he would be there for me now, and believe me. Simon shook his head and looked at the floor. My eyes flickered to the bathroom door. I wondered what was going through Kaylie’s mind. My sweet angel must be so confused. I wanted Simon to leave so I could console her. But I couldn’t exactly tell Simon to leave; he’d wonder why.

“So there’s no truth to the matter at all?” Simon double-checked. I shook my head.

“Not true at all.” I declared confidently. I didn’t even know why Melody would make up such a big lie. There had to be a reason behind it all and I was determined to find out what it was.

“OK, then. Good to know.” Simon said and stood up, walking past me and opened the door. Before he walked out, he turned back to look at me.

“If you even think about flirting with one of your contestants or even worse, kissing them, I will have them eliminated with immediate effect.”

All I could do was nod. He stared at me seriously for a couple more seconds before leaving and closing the door behind him. I breathed a sigh of relief as soon as he was gone and rested my forehead on the door, locking it. Now the situation Kaylie and I were in was even worse. If she was found with me, she’d be gone within the blink of an eye. I couldn’t let that happen. Not to my diamond. Not to my angel.

I looked at the bathroom to see that the door was still closed and there was silence. Worry consumed my body and I rushed over, opening the door. It was dark inside but I could make out a small figure curled up against the wall.

“Kaylie?” I whispered and flicked on the light switch. The bathroom lit up in bright white light, illuminating the figure against the wall. Kaylie had her legs bent up against her chest and her arms were wrapped around her legs. She looked up at me and my heart swelled. Her eyes were wet with tears and shiny lines painted her bright pink cheeks.

She had been crying.

I approached her but she turned her body away from me, shying away from my gaze. I pressed my lips together and took another step forward but she still didn’t look at me. I leaned down beside her and hesitantly placed my hand on her back. Kaylie flinched at my touch and her body shook with sobs as she buried her face in her knees. My heart wept for her. I went a step further and wrapped my arm around her shoulders but she made no move to hold me back.

“Angel, please…” I begged her, sitting down next to her so that my back rested against the cold wall. I tightened my arm around her and asked her to come closer. Finally, she gave in and turned to me, throwing herself at me, hiding her face in the crook of my neck. Her tears splashed onto my skin and my suit but I didn’t care. If Kaylie needed to cry, she should let it out inside of bottling it up inside. That would only be worse for her.

“I’m sorry, Kaylie. I’m sorry you had to hear that.” I whispered, holding her to my chest, letting her sob as much as she wanted to. She held onto my lapels as she continued to cry. I stroked her hair gently and kissed her forehead as a single tear slipped down my cheek. I didn’t want my angel to be upset but because she was, I was too. And it was all Melody’s fault.

“Please tell me you haven’t flirted with Melody or kissed her.”

I looked down at Kaylie and furrowed my eyebrows. How could she even say that, let alone think it? I pressed my lips to her forehead again and wrapped my fingers around one of her hands, clutching it tightly.

“You’re the only girl I have flirted with and kissed and the only girl I want to flirt with and kiss. Nothing and no-one will change that.” I reassured her.

“But Simon…” She raised her eyes to look into mine. I placed my finger on her lips, stopping her from finishing her sentence.

“Simon will never know.”

“But I heard what he said. I don’t want to be eliminated, Harry.” She sounded broken and her voice was cracked. I hated seeing her like this. I wanted her to laugh, to smile, to giggle. Even though Kaylie looked beautiful when she cried, I didn’t like seeing her so hurt. My angel was supposed to glow and shine, not weep and suspect.

“You won’t be. I told you. No-one will take you away from me, especially not Simon.”

I moved my finger away from her lips and wiped away a tear that had fallen down her cheek. I closed the distance between us by resting my forehead against hers, slowly closing my eyes. I didn’t need to look at her to know how she was feeling. She told me through her breathing, the beat of her heart, her touch. Kaylie’s hand flew up to my cheek and I sighed, brushing the tip of my nose against hers. I knew she was smiling; I could tell from the sound of her breathing. I leaned closer so that I could feel her breath on my lips, our mouths so close to meeting.

“You’re mine, Kaylie. And I’m yours. Always.” I whispered, curling my fingers behind her neck. I didn’t waste any more time and kissed her, wrapping my arm tighter around her shoulders, pulling her to my chest. She whimpered slightly when I deepened the kiss, soothing her by the burden of my lips on hers. Kaylie needed to know that my kisses were for her only. They didn’t belong to Melody and they never would. My lips were addicted to the taste of Kaylie’s and it would always remain that way. My angel sank into my embrace and allowed me to kiss her more. She locked her right arm around my neck and let out a sob when our lips parted, tears streaming down her flushed cheeks. I kissed her once more; her lips were wet from her tears but I didn’t care. I wanted to let her know that she belonged to me and I belonged to her. I didn’t want her to doubt what we had. It was something special. I knew it was.

I was about to kiss her again but her phone started to ring, disrupting our intimate moment. Kaylie untangled herself out of my arms; I was extremely reluctant to let her go. She went back into the dressing room and picked up her phone just as it stopped ringing. I stood up and rested the side of my body against the doorway, running my hand through my hair.

“It was my mother. They couldn’t wait for me so I’ll have to go home by myself.” Kaylie explained, looking up from her phone.

“I’ll drop you off.” I suggested.

“Harry…as much as I appreciate the offer, I must decline. If anyone sees us leaving together, rumours will spread. Then Simon will know and I’ll be off the show in an instant. I’ll just take the tube home.”

I walked over to her and wrapped my fingers around her elbow. She looked up at me with the milk chocolate eyes I adored so much.

“About Melody-”

“I don’t want to talk about her, Harry.” Kaylie interrupted me as politely as possible. I let go of her arm and her fingers immediately began to fly across her phone screen, typing a text to her mother. I realised she immediately wanted to get off the topic of Melody. I knew she didn’t like her but there was something else. Had Melody said something to her? If so, I have to know. I need to know. So I pressed the matter further.

“Kaylie, has she said something to upset you?”

Her lips came together in a thin line as she stopped texting and let her arms fall to her sides limply. She couldn’t even look at me. That was when I knew the answer to my question was yes.

“Tell me what she said, please.” I begged. Kaylie sighed and was just about to respond when her phone buzzed. It must have been a text from her mother. She stared at the screen for a few moments before staring up at me. Her eyes sparkled with tears as she shook her head.

“I don’t want to talk about her, Harry. Please not now. I have to get changed and go home.” She stepped forward and rested her free hand on my chest. She leaned up and kissed my cheek softly, keeping her lips there for at least 10 seconds. I closed my eyes, savouring the contact of her mouth on my skin.

“Bye.” She whispered and turned to head to the door. I stopped her by taking her hand in mine. Kaylie gazed at me and bit her lip, staring at how our hands were entwined together.

“Promise me you’ll tell me next week, angel. Please, I need to know what she said to you.”

I was being completely adamant about this. Melody had made Kaylie upset. She could cost my angel her place in this competition. I meant what I said about telling Kaylie that I believed I could win with her. I knew I could. She had everything an artist was and could be. She could make it big. And I wasn’t going to let Melody make Kaylie believe otherwise.

Kaylie nodded and I stepped closer to press my lips to hers gently. She placed her hand on my shoulder just as the kiss broke. Then, without another word, she turned around and left my room, leaving me standing there motionlessly.

I pulled on my long curls with my hands, sighing and I stared up at the boring white ceiling. I had made Kaylie promise to tell me. She had agreed to it. But whatever Melody said to her was going to bother me until Kaylie told me personally. Why did Melody make up such a large lie? About me flirting with her? Suddenly, it clicked for me. I remembered the looks of loathing in Melody’s eyes whenever Kaylie was with me. I remembered how flirty Melody was with me whenever I put my attention on Kaylie. I finally understood.

Melody was jealous.
