Double

The slight breeze ruffles my brown hair, bright sun warms my skin, and the most precious laughter fills my ears. I close my eyes to better enjoy the laughter and squeals coming from my boyfriend and our daughter. I swing on a hammock, so peaceful and grateful with life. Today is one of those days where I can't help but remember the past 3 years and how I got here.

I met Niall the first day of senior year in high school. Niall and his identical twin brother, Finn, transfered from Miami to El Paso even though they were born and raised in Ireland. I, myself, am not native to Texas either as I had transfered the year before from Omaha, NE. I remember it like it was yesterday, his bleached blonde hair stood out from the crowd during lunch and our eyes always seemed to travel to each other. We shared a few glances before I finally got the courage to go talk to him. I walked over to his table, smoothing out my navy school skirt and hoping I don't make a fool of myself. Upon approaching the table I found out there was two of them when I saw his identical twin join us. It was like looking at two drops of water.

Physically, they were identical, but I soon found out they had much different personalities. Niall was very carefree, sporty, and family oriented. Finn, on the other hand, was a loner, short tempered, but no doubt loved his brother. After our encounter in the cafeteria, we hit it off immediately. We ended up dating the rest of senior year.

Since the beginning I had trouble telling Niall and Finn apart. One morning before school I asked Niall to stop by and bring me a kolache from The Kolache Factory. When I spotted him in the cafeteria with a kolache bag in front of him, I ran up and threw myself on him. I was mortified when I realized that was Finn and Niall was approaching us, a confused look on his face and 3 sodas in his hands. I quickly got off Finn and explained to which Niall was very understanding.

The day of our graduation ceremony, I found out I was pregnant. Of course it wasn't ideal as we were young and just graduated, but Niall assured me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and would take care of us. Right after high school, him and his brother interned at their father's multi millionaire business. He owned a popular branch of banks and would be retiring soon leaving the Horan brothers in charge.

Fast forward to now, 3 years almost to the dot since we first met. We still live in El Paso in a large stucco home next to the Franklin mountains with our 18 month old daughter, Isobel. Both Niall and Finn have excelled at their work with the banks and I stay home with Isobel. They're even in talks of expanding into northern Mexico since we are just minutes from the Texas/Mexico border. Niall's parents moved back to Miami to enjoy their retirement but Finn stayed in El Paso to be close to Niall for business purposes.

The blazing Texan sun was making my legs burn and I thought it was best to head inside.
"Babe, I think we should head in. It's too hot for Iso." I call out getting off of the multi colored hammock I purchased in Juarez. We often take day trips accross the border to shop for goods for the house.
"Ok, we're coming!" Niall sweeps Iso right off her feet and brings his mouth to her soft belly making her squeal one last time. He catches up to me as I make my way to the glass doors that lead to the house and places his hand on my lower back before giving my cheek a kiss. Everything about my life was perfect, I couldn't imagine myself without Niall.

Yes, it's me with another story. I have a few chapters written for it and I was going to wait until either The Spring Semester or We Took A Chance was over but I couldn't hold it in. haha I'm not going to lie, this story more than likely won't get really often updates like the other two but I will try my best!
