Night Changes.

Chapter one.

Matilda’s POV

I get woken up by the dreaded sound of my dexcom, the beep, beep, beep. The sounds is the worst wake up call but sometimes I wonder what is worse my alarm or my dexcom. I pick up my dexcom and see why it gave me the dreaded wake up call, surprise surprise I have a high blood sugar reading. I treat my high then look at the time which reads 5:30am, guess I am not going back to sleep. I check my Facebook which has nothing exciting at this time of night well morning as everyone is still asleep.
I wait for my blood sugar to go down before I start to pack my bags and make sure I have everything.
I have been accepted into a school in London, England. I am going on a netball scholarship that my netball coach got me into, I cant wait as it means getting away from my wicked step mum and dad. My dad married Amelia when I was 8 years old and since then I haven't gotten along with her, we never really got along but I never really got along with my dad either. I pack my carry on bag that will have my laptop, iPad, camera, skateboard and phone in it well my carry on suitcase will have my diabetic supplies for a month. Did I mention that I am a type one diabetic? Well I am, I have been since I was 18 months old so its just my life as I don't know any different.
I head down the hall to the kitchen to make my favourite cereal weet bix and my favourite morning drink Milo well Milo is not just my morning drink its my all time favourite drink. I am hoping I can get these things in England as I will be lost without it.
My dad wakes up at like 6:30 which is the time we are leaving for the airport, no one else in the house is awake but the two of us. I don't know wether it would be better to say goodbye to my siblings or just leave but I don't have time to think about it as dad is already leading me out the door of the house into the cold winter morning air. It isn't even light out yet, the moon is still beaming in the sky with no sign of the sun. Dad hasn't said ‘boo’ to me yet which I am trying to figure out if it is a bad thing or a good thing.
“You be careful in London.” Dad says as he drops me off at the airport.
“I will dad, don't worry.” I say
“No talking to creepy people and please keep an eye on your diabetes.” Dad says
“I won’t.” I say
“Don't be to crazy over there.” Dad says
Dad and I check in, well he checks me in. We say a quick goodbye and for the first time in a while he hugs me, my dad never hugs me. I sit in a cafe that is by my gate as I have two hours to kill before my flight is called. I order a Mango smoothie as I open my Facebook again. I update my Facebook status

Matilda Lawley: Off to London, cant wait to see this beautiful city that I have only ever dreamed of seeing. - Traveling to London, England from Melbourne, Australia.

I log on to my twitter to update that as well since I have nothing better to do.

@MattieLawley_32: What a good morning it is, flying to London. xx

I cant wait to be in London but I am dreading the long flight as it is 24 hours but hopefully I am not stuck next to the most annoying person on earth but am hopefully next to a cute British guy that my friends talk about.
I walk around and look at the duty free stores till my plane is called for boarding, which is finally happening. I board this airplane that will be in London in 24 hours time.
