Making It Count

Boy bands and Break ups

Lyndsy's POV

"Harry's here."

My mom yelled it up the stairs like I couldn't here the horn blasting obnoxiously from the driveway. Ever since Harry had seen lala land he'd taken to pretending to be Sebastian in an obvious attempt to up his 'swag factor.'

Thankfully he'd managed to wait until I'd finished curling my recently chopped off hair before arriving this time. He'd manage to startle me the morning before into burning a mark that look strangely like a hickey on the side of my neck. It was something that had been hard to explain to Logan.

"Coming!" I yelled hastily straightening my coat.

It was all in vain because upon arriving at the bottom of the stairs he'd already made himself comfortable with a freshly brewed cup of coffee. My mother was fussing as usual her bustling around the immaculate white kitchen rather pointless. I briefly wondered what the hell my mother had to be stressed before smacking Harry solidly on the arm with my purse.

"Ow!"

"No time for coffee we have to pick up El."

I protested trying to bustle him out the door. We had already been late to school three times in two weeks most of them not my fault but due to Harry's chatter-mouth.

"But Louis....."

"They broke up."

I cut him off not in the mood to explain the sobbing 2 am call I'd recieved the night before. I had been nicely dreaming of the beach and other such pleasantries to have it cut off over El and Louis breaking up for the second time in four months. It was like the two of them could never decide if they actually liked each other or not.

Harry just sighed before dumping his coffee in a thermos and grabbing his keys, "thanks mama G."

"Why exactly am I always carting around all of your friends?" Harry asked once we'd entered the car.

"Because you love me." I stated with a cheeky grin poking his face and distracting him yet again from the road.

"I should make Logan drive you." Harry muttered.

"Too bad we're neighbors." I quipped before messing with his radio until a 5 seconds of summer song blared solidly from his speakers directly from my phone earning yet another groan.

It wasn't long however until Harry was humming along with the radio knowing that he couldn't really claim he didn't like boy bands. I'd been around when he had a giant NSYNC poster on his wall. He did however immediate clam up as soon as El slumped into the back seat of Harry's convertible over-sized sunglasses masking her face.

"You good?"

"I'm going to school aren't I?" El quipped pulling her glasses off revealing slightly puffy eyes. From her tone I knew not to push any further,

The drive to school from there on out was quiet just the radio breaking the silence and tension. Harry and I exchanged worried glances as we tried to ignore El's sniffles. I honestly hadn't expected it to actually hit her this hard. She was the kind of person that always bounced back from relationships quickly and was soon on to the next.

Thankfully it was only a twenty minute drive on a bad day to school and soon Harry was dropping the two of us at the entrance. Two weeks into school and the place was already a mad house full of flyers, bustling people and too many wide eyed freshman. That's why hands on my hips initially surprised me until I heard a familiar chuckle.

"Got ya."

Logan had a shiteating grin on his face when I turned around and I just rolled my eyes at him. He'd taken up trying to scare me in his dorky way claiming it was 'reflex training.' I just thought it was an excuse for him to try and make me scream.

"You're a dork." I stated before giving him a chaste kiss. There was a school policy against PDA and I didn't feel like getting in trouble.

"Did you hear about El and Lou?" He asked slinging his arm around my shoulder.

I just nodded in response. As we made our way down the hall people subconsciously moved out of our way causing a slight smile to appear on my face. It had taken a long time to curate my image at the school and while it wasn't entirely accurate it at least garnered the respect I'd actually wanted.

"Lou actually seemed pretty cool with it I mean do you think there's someone else?" Logan asked breaking me from my thoughts.

"Hmmmm......maybe?" I mumbled not really wanting to talk about it especially with Louis actually standing 10 feet in front of us with Liam and Ashley.

It was his piercing blue eyes that caught mine before a glance of anger crossed his features. Mumbling a see you later to his friends he slammed his locker before quickly striding down the hallway. I'm sure it was with a slightly open mouth that my eyes followed his lanky frame down the hallway.

"I think we should just let them figure it out." I stated earning a confused look from Logan. He knew that usually I wasn't one to usually mind my own business.

"I have to get to class."

Kissing Logan's cheek and leaving him standing slightly awkwardly in the hall I excused myself before ducking into a side hallway. It was then moving quickly quickly down several hallways, up a flight of stairs and into the atrium that doubled as a study room before I managed to cut Louis off.

"Louis!" I called out just loud enough to not call attention to myself in the mostly empty hall.

I was met with nothing but the background noise of overlapping conversations. Seeing my in front of him Louis just shook his head and tensing his body dodging me by ducking around a giggly crowd of freshman girls.

"Louis." I hissed when he got close enough for me to reach for his shoulder but he just continued to push past me.

Shaking my head I watched his back retreat along the hallway as the last warning bell for class rang.

Notes

Hey everyone so we're looking at starting this up again but we've lost a co-author. As such we're gonna take turns writing for a brand new character, Lyndsy. I hope y'all liked the updated chapter :)

Please tell me you are still planning on updating this... It's so good omg

This is really good! I like how you're subtly entwining all of the different characters together :) I usually avoid stories like this, but all of you are such great writers that the plot correlates nicely. I was a little confused about Niall tho-but besides that the update was perfect :D I can't wait until the next one!
