Fangirl

Screaming from the living room of three twenty year old guys is obviously the usual, but the twist of cheering intrigues me. Curiously, I walk out, and grin at multiple people screaming and high fiving. Calum turns to me.

"The album is officially out!"

My inner sixteen year old fucking loses it, and I scream at the top of my lungs, run into the guest room and slam the door.

LUKE'S POV--

"So. She's excited." Calum laughs.

"Or pissed off we didn't give her first dibs." Michael shrugs, still gleaming. I'm so happy yet so fucking scared? It's like, this is Take Two: 5 Seconds of Summer and I don't want to mess up. I also don't want to leave Riley. I don't want to have to live Close as Strangers.

"Excitement or betrayed?" I ask, walking into our room.

"Okay Luke I know this is a big moment for you, but this is a bigger moment for me so please shut your face." She responds, typing away at the keyboard.

I smile. I love when she gets all fangirl-y. It reminds me of when we met. "How is a big break in my career smaller than your love for a band?"

"Um, how isn't it?" She asks, turning to face me. "In the nicest way, I like your band more than you."

"That's. Actually probably true." I laugh. Silence occurs rather quickly, us both knowing what we have to talk about now. "So... Now or later?"

"I guess now.. We've been putting it off for so long."

"I'm going on tour for a year."

"And I'm... Not." She says shakily. A part of me is upset she didn't change her mind on that, but we both know especially now that everyone knows about us it'll be to difficult for her. "God." She sighs quickly, hunching over.

"What?"

"Why does this never work?" She asks. Oh my god, she's crying. Does she think we're breaking up? "Something always breaks us up."

"B-Babe, it's okay, you can stay here and I'll go on tour-"

"Yeah but how long do you really think it'll hold up? We're not good at long distance. You're probably going to meet someone else and then all hell will-"

"Stop, stop." I kneel in front of her. "I know you do it when you get scared but don't think of the worst outcome. Not right now. I love you, Riley. You think I only have people hitting on me when I'm touring? I get it everyday. Online, or there's always that scream from down the street about how my legs make some stranger weak."

"You do have great legs." Riley mumbles.

"My point," I smile, "is that I am completely and hopelessly devoted to you, Ms. Smart. There is absolutely no other human being I'd rather be around than you. You have absolutely nothing to be worried about."

"Are you saying Muke isn't real?"

"Oh, no, that shits real, but Ruke is more real."

"The entire internet is going to be very upset." She tells me.

"Sucks for them."

"Speaking of the internet being upset, did you know there are actual accounts dedicated to exposing me?" I laugh, "I thought I'd hate it but I actually really enjoy it. They make some good points. For instance, I apparently liked a member of the opposite sex's Instagram picture, which means I'm cheating on you."

"Just wait until they find out you're bi, that'll be even more of a shit show." I chuckle.

anywho to break my writers block I read some of this story over and I missed how cute everything was with Ruke so I needed to write a bit with them so here.

hopefully more soon, I'ma try writing in my journal in a.s. and copying it here after school
