Fangirl

Rejected

"Nooo." I hear Luke groan. I open my eyes, immediately squinting after seeing the blinding sunlight. I look around, wanting to die from my headache.

"What the fuck is this." I mumble, accidentally falling off his bed.

"We're hungover." He says sadly.

"I don't like it." I whine.

"No one does." He grumbles, covering his face with a blanket. "Did you fall?"

"I think so." I say, standing up. "What did we even do?"

"Oh god." He groans, lying down. "Are we married?" I watch him quickly check his ring finger. As if getting drunk-married would include remembering rings. "We didn't get married, right?"

"I don't think so." I mumble, grabbing my hoodie from the bag I dropped in here when I got here yesterday.

"Where are you going?" Luke asks, closing the curtains to hide the sun.

"Anywhere." I say quietly, and shut his door.

"Riley!" Michael yells.

"Michael, shush!" I yell back. "Why are you screaming?"

"No, I'm yelling. There's a difference." He says, as he looks over at me from the kitchen where he's stuffing his face with ice cream. "You look like shit."

"I'm hungover." I say quietly.

"What?"

"Hungover." I say louder, squeezing my eyes shut. I can't deal with speaking right now, it's too much. I would never want to be married drunk, I want to do it where I'll actually remember it and there's planning involved besides who has the money for a cab. But I have to admit, when Luke said we should get married, I was all in, and not just because I was wasted. If he didn't forget he suggested it after me crying over pigs smiling, I would've done it.

"Youchie." Michael frowns. "It's seven pm, you know."

"Yes, thank you Michael, I know the time." I grumble, and start chugging down a glass of water.

"No, I mean it's seven pm. You missed your flight."

"Fuuck." I shake my head. "I can't deal with life right now, I'm sad and rejected and I almost got married like that, I'm out." I say, walking to the door.

"You got married what?" Michael raises his eyebrows.

"Nothing." I say, and shut the front door. I step out into the rain. Lovely. Just what I needed.

Luke's POV---

"Um, mate?" I hear Michael say, after opening my door. My face is currently lightly under a pillow, and it's honestly so relaxing.

"What."

"What did you do to RiRi?" He asks.

I laugh, "What did you just call her?"

"Anyone would be lucky to have a nickname like that." Michael says. "She said she was sad and rejected and then she left. It's pouring outside, too. Except the sun is going down as well, so hopefully she finds a rainbow." He smiles.

"Thank you for the weather update Mike, you can go now."

"What did you do to her that made her so sad?" Mikey frowns. I sigh, and take the pillow on my face, sort of hating the cool breeze that comes with it.

"I mean I got her drunk, that maybe." I frown, wiping my eyes.

"She said rejected, that has nothing to do with being wasted."

"Michael, everything's fine, just leave it."

"What happened, Luke? I mean why are you so distant towards her feelings right now? A year ago you would've heard that she was sad and force her into a bunk bed with you so she could talk about it."

"I feel rejected, too you know!" I yell, making my headache worse. "And I never forced her into a bunk bed, she would do it herself."

"How are YOU rejected? You broke up with her, you idiot!" I shut my eyes. Go away. "Get your head out of your fucking ass. You still call her your girlfriend for some weird reason, so go, fucking help your girlfriend." I stand up and shove past him, grumbling a curse word under my breath. But purely just cause he's right. I don't have any more reasons to feel rejected, while Riley has multiple. I'm being a dick.

I walk out the house with sunglasses on, despite the sun almost being down. Wow, it really is pouring out here. I look over at Riley sitting on the curb, becoming drenched in rain.

"I don't want to wait." I tell her, standing next to her on the curb.

"What?" She frowns.

I sit, "When you asked if we're getting back together. I wanted to say yes, I'm just really scared I'm going to mess it up again. The break was hardly called for, a normal person would've just talked to you about it first. I just keep resorting to the most dramatic option lately because I'm so unmotivated for life. I think I'm depressed again. You don't deserve me. And by that, I mean you're so much more together than me and you deserve someone better. I know you think you're just my fangirl, but you're actually incredible. Extremely, incredible. And I want to be with you again I just don't want to risk ruining it again."

I look at her. She blinks. Then, randomly, she starts laughing. "I am so not together Luke, I'm a mess. A fangirly, confused all the time, can't keep my balance mess." I laugh.

"So wait, what does this mea-"

"Hey Luke." She grins.

"What?"

"Wanna make out?"

"So, so badly." I nod. She smiles, and kisses me, making every part of me burst with butterflies.
