First Day of School:

I woke up to a banging on my door so I get up out of bed to see who it is.

“Hey, you ready for school?’ Louis barges through my door

“Does it look like I’m ready?” I whisper

“Oh feisty, I like it.”

“What do you want Lou?” I asked annoyed

“Why are you in such a bad mood?”

“Oh gee I don’t know maybe because you’ve ignored me all summer.” I say

“Well I’m here now, so what do ya say… can I have a kiss?” he asked slumping an arm over my shoulders.

So, backtracking for a moment. Last year Louis and I sort of had a fling we were inseparable; always attached to each other’s hip. Louis turned 18 towards the middle of the school year in December, everything changed after that. He became really distant with me; blowing me off any chance he got. Apparently ignoring me was his way of breaking up with me. All summer long he would have different girls coming to his house, a constant one was Shannon Whitehill. She use to be really good friends with Tessa and I until she joined the drill squad two years ago, she just became a total bitch by that point. That’s ok though because I have Tess and that’s all I need.

“Um, no you cannot have a kiss Lou.” I said “Matter of fact where is Shannon? Thought she was you new girlfriend?”

“No no no love Shannon was just a great shag for the summer because you are a prude.” he hisses

“Oi, Emerson wanna lift to school yeah?” I hear Harry as he rounds the corner by the garage

“Hi Harry, yes please.” I say perking up instantly.

“Who are you?” Louis spat

“This is Harry, he just moved in next door with his sister and parents." I tell him

“Hello mate names Harry, nice to meet you.”

“Harry you say.. well you see Harry this little bird is mine so I am warning you only once to stay away from her… got it?”

“Fuck you Louis! You don’t own me, we were over a long time ago. Don’t be coming to my house and pulling this bullshit… now go and do not come back!” I shout at him

After Louis left Harry and I go back into my house so I can change quickly. When I’m done I follow Harry out to his car and we go to school. I show him where the office is so he can get his schedule and assigned locker. The first three periods go by pretty smoothly. I haven’t seen Lou or Tessa yet today which is good because I’m still a little bit upset with her. Fourth period came along and I chose a seat near the back corner of the classroom. No sight of Louis yet thank god. The bell rings for class to start, ten minutes later Louis comes strutting into the classroom interrupting the teacher.

“Mr. Tomlinson class has begun… find a seat now!”

Of course out of all the seats still open he chooses the seat behind me.

“Stop touching me” I whisper to him

“I can’t help it love, I want you so bad right now.” he breathes down my neck

“You have Shannon for that now.”

“Yeah I know but I want you as well."

“Silence please!” the teacher calls out

I sit in silence and watch the movie the teacher put on. The bell rings for lunch so everyone packs up to leave. I make my way towards the cafeteria when someone drags me into an empty classroom and shuts the door. Before I can see who it is I feel a pair of lips squished to mine feverishly. I push the person back to see who it is.

“What the bloody hell are you doing?” I shout

“I told you Emerson you’re mine.” Louis said

“No Lou, I am not yours, get off of it already. We are through.” I say sternly

“Oh, so that new bloke gets all the fun is that it? you’re going around being a whore now?”

Without warning, I slapped Louis hard across the face and made a run for the door. I burst out into the hallway slamming into none other than the green eyed god himself.

“Oi, Emerson is everything ok?” he asked concerned

“No, Louis drug me into an empty room and kissed me, then proclaimed that I am his and he proceeded to say I was a whore with you.” I said shaking as tears run down my face.

“Don’t let that arrogant twat bother you love, he’s just a jerk. How about we get some food yeah?”

“Yeah lets go.” I say calming down

After lunch we finish out the last three periods of the day. Harry is in all three of them so that’s a relief. When the day is over we meet at Harry’s car and go home. We say our good bye and go into our separate houses.

“Mom.. Dad.. you home?” I shout going to the kitchen.

There I find a note from my parents.

Em,
Dad and I got a call to go to Florida. Be back in a few days.
Love you,
Mom.

“Great they leave again. I’m so sick of being all alone all the time.” I think to myself.
