Chapter 19
Bridget's POV:
"Bridget you coming" dad shouts out. "YEA" I shout back.

"Ready I come in the kitchen."
"Great" Dad finishes his coffee and puts his mug in the sink.
"Are you sure, you have a long day ahead." He reminds me
"Yes, come on"
We get in the car and make way to dad's VET clinic which I am helping out I mean I love seeing all the animals. Then after it I have a rehab session, quite and extensive one might I add.
We pull up at the VET and see a guy outside with a Labrador what a cutie.
"Come on in guys" Dad tells them and I smile.
After dad examines Max the dog he has to stay in for a few days.
"Ok so I will get the paperwork. It's in the car. Bridget stay her please. Sorry I'll be right back." Dad says to Chris the owner of the dog.
Chris is patting Max "He will be ok" I try and assure him, "I know, it's just his my best friend." HE continues to pat him.
"Yea I understand" I say and smile at him. "I've seen you around" he tells me, "at the football club" He smiles. "Yea well my dad is the coach." I shrug my shoulders. "I admire a girl who loves sports." I blush.
"Well Bridget you have earned these" My rehab teacher gives me some crutches. I am so proud of myself I am on crutches now no more of that stupid stick holding me back. Although I am now wearing agent moon boots, oh well.
"Now I will see you in another three weeks, and we have the treadmill test." My teacher says.
"Um what's that?" I ask wordily.
"Well you will start off walking, then jog. Then you need to run and run hard on it to see if you can be completely free and walk on your complete own"
I gulp down what if I'm not ready.
"No need to street Bridget, with the tremendous recovery and the your optimism. I know you can do it" They encourage me.
I walk out of the centre and see Luke, oh no.
"Josh hey"
"Oh hey" He wheels a bit closer.
"Look I'm sorry I've been distant lately." I try and apologise. "Nice crutches"
I look down to myself . "Thanks" I smile, but then feel guilty.
"I'll see you around Josh" I wave with one of my crutches.
"Look Bridget, it would mean a lot if we could be just friends." He says. I smile "Sounds good, I'll call you."
"I'm so proud of you honey" Mum hugs me so tight I gasp for air.
"Mum can't breathe" She pulls me out o my embrace. "Come in the kitchen" She says and I follow her.
I get in the kitchen and smile ear to ear.
"WHOOOO BRIDGET" All the group is here and I love them all. I laugh at Niall popping the popper.
"Next step you will be RUNNING WILD AND FREE" The boys sing and I laugh.
"Here you go guys." Mum puts a cake on the table.
"CHOCOLATE MUD CAKE" Niall rubs his hands and sits and cuts himself a piece.
We all sit at the table and we eat this amazing cake. I look around the table and admire my friends and their silliness and thank god for them.
"CAKE BY THE OCEAN" Niall sings and stuff his face and we all laugh.
I smile at this moment in my life but can't help think why Harry isn't here I know things are how they are but I still thought he would be here.
It's the next day and I make my way into the clinic.
"Sorry I'm early" I see Chris http://cdn3.thr.com/sites/default/files/2013/02/luke_mitchell_headshot_a_p.jpg
sitting in the foyer. "Oh that's ok" I balance on my crutches and fiddle with the key to open the door.
"Just really wanted to see Max" He smiles I nod my head.
"Come in" I say holding the door with my arm.
"Thank you for everything" Chris says, still patting his dog. "No worries at all" I smile.
"I'll have to take you for coffee to properly thank you." He looks at me, I don't speak just nod my head.
How is this happening, I had Luke but I didn't feel anything for him but friendship. Then there is Harry who clearly doesn't want this anymore, and now Chris. Hmm maybe I should give him a chance I mean he is cute and maybe with time I will feel something.
"Ok come back tomorrow and he can go home" I say patting Max.
"Ok I'll see you then." He smiles at me and I blush.
"DADDDDDDD" I yell out from my room.
"BRIDGET WHAT IS IT ARE YOU OK" He comes in my room.
"LOOK" I say walking slowly on my own without my crutches.
"oh my god" He gasps . "Wait can you do this or." He asks.
"No I can do it. I mean there's a bit of discomfort" I keep smiling and walking.
"I'm so proud of you Bri." He hugs me "Just don't over do it." I roll my eyes at him.
"Can you walk with me outside."
"Sure sweetheart"
"OH MY GOD BRIDGET" I see Louis running towards me.
"Your walking on your own." He smiles and I nod my head.
"Can I go hangout with them dad" I look at him. "Please" I do my puppy dog eyes.
"Please be careful." He says and I kiss his cheek thanking him.
"It's ok coach we will look after her" Louis takes my arm.
1 week later:
"So will you tell us your going with?" Perrie nags me again.
"You don't know him" I say referring to Chris, I built up the confidence to ask him to the school formal and I am actually looking forward to it now.
"Ok fine, fine" she puts her hands up in defence.
