Chapter 33
(3 weeks later)
Julia’s POV:
Today was supposed to be a happy day for the patients here. It was visiting day. Everyone’s friends and family came to visit and cheered them up, making them happier. Not me though. I doubted anybody wanted to see me. I practically messed up everyone else’s lives let alone, mine.
“Ms. Cowell? You have some guests here to see you. I’ll send them in one at a time.” I heard the staff member say, bringing me out of my thoughts. I was shocked, I had to admit. I thought everyone wanted nothing to do to me. She walked away with a smile after nodding my head. I was sitting out on the terrace of the building, and it was beyond beautiful. It had a very nice view of the city.
“Jules?” I heard the voice say. I turned around and a smile grew on my lips.
“Liam!” I said happily. I got up and hugged him tightly. He let out a small chuckle and hugged me back. After breaking away, he sat down in one of the chairs across from me. I loved Liam like a brother. Same with Zayn. I never really had the chance to always hang out with them but I knew they both cared and I cared about them. That’s all that really mattered.
“So how are you? I mean, you look a little better.” He said with a small smile.
“I’m doing okay, actually. I feel a little better too.” I lied. Lately, Casey has helped me find ways to avoid eating. They were very helpful too, because nobody noticed. But with a little cover up, I didn’t look as pale and people thought I was doing fine.
“That’s good. I’m really glad I got to see you again. I’ve missed you…a lot.” He smiled sympathetically for me. And I placed my hand on top of his, reassuring him that I’m doing okay in here.
“Me too. I think I’ve missed you and Zayn most of all. But don’t tell anyone I said that.” I giggled, and he laughed as well.
“So what do you even do in this place?” He asked looking inside at everything. I explained to him what has been going on lately and what we’ve had to do. He nodded his head and thought it must have been hell for me. He knew me so well. After catching up for a while, it was time for the next person to come in and see me. Before he could leave, Casey came over.
“Oh, Liam! This is my friend Casey. Casey…Liam.” I smiled and they shook hands.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Casey said to Liam. Liam looked at her up and down, but not checking her out. I could tell he gave her a fake smile, but I brushed it off.
“You too. Well I’ll see you soon, okay?” Liam said giving me a smile. He kissed my cheek, and with that, he left.
Liam’s POV:
As I shook hands with Casey and looked at her, something just didn’t feel right. She seemed…unusual. I couldn’t tell what was wrong with her, so I brushed it off.
“You too. Well I’ll see you soon, okay?” I said to Jules, giving her a light smile. I kissed her cheek, and walked back inside from the terrace. I saw the other boys looking at me curiously.
“How did it go?” Niall asked me.
“It was fine. Although…” I said thinking more about Casey.
“Although what?” Christa asked me. I sighed and went on with it.
“She’s made a new friend. Casey. But there’s something not right. I could tell. I just don’t know what, yet.” I shrugged my shoulders.
“Well I’ll go in next.” Louis said, and he walked out onto the terrace. The eight of us waited as Louis was outside talking to Julia. Matt and Danielle came along, and so did Eleanor as soon as she found out that she could see Julia. Simon was supposed to be coming in later after we all left, and I was a bit nervous to see how Jules would react, but thank god I won’t be around to see it.
After Louis came back in about five minutes later, Zayn and Harry went out there together. After waiting for about another five minutes, Dani and El were next. Then Matt. Then Christa. Christa’s turn was by far the longest.
Christa’s POV:
I was actually nervous to be talking to Julia. Although we hugged it out before she left, I knew she wouldn’t forget what I said to her. It was pretty harsh, and I regret almost every word. Except for the fact that I said she had a problem. Because that part was very true. I took a deep breath before entering the terrace. She looked up at me with a huge smile and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back, almost crying but I held the tears in. She did look a little better, but she was still really bony. She didn’t look as pale though.
“I miss you so much.” I heard her say as we pulled apart. I sat in the chair across from her and smiled at her. I wiped away a tear that somehow made its way down my cheek.
“I miss you too, babe!” I said back letting a small laugh. “So your birthday is coming up soon!” I said, winking at her. Her smile slowly faded but I knew why.
“I just don’t want to spend it here.” She said rolling her eyes.
“Well you don’t have to.” I said smiling. I had talked to the nurses and staff a week ago and made plans.
“What do you mean?” She asked, creasing her eyebrows.
“I may have pulled a few strings…” I said, making her beg to tell the rest.
“Just tell me already!” She said, at the edge of her seat.
“I talked to the nurses and they said that lately you’ve been doing so well. They agreed that you can spend the day and night at home for your birthday!” I said clapping my hands. Her eyes widened and she stood up, jumping up and down.
“OH MY GOSH. THANK YOU TAHNK YOU THANK YOU!” She squealed and I laughed.
“Also, you can invite your friend Casey, but she can’t spend the night. She can only come over.” I said making sure she understood. She nodded her head quickly and gave me a huge hug. After that, we spent about ten more minutes just talking, then it was time for me to go. I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek then made my way to the others, leaving the building.
Julia’s POV:
I was about to go back into my room, when the staff said I had one more visitor. I gave her a puzzled look, but soon enough, my father walked in. I gulped and my face had no color in it what-so-ever. I sat down in the chair I’ve been sitting in for over an hour now, as he sat across from me.
“What has happened to you…?” Was the first thing that came out of his mouth. I sighed and explained the whole situation. He called me insane for thinking I needed to lose weight but I was used to those types of insults now. Somewhere along the story, I started crying and he came over to me, engulfing me in his arms. We just sat there for a minute and I cried into his chest. After about ten more minutes of talking he said he really needed to go, but he loved me so much. Out of all the years he has said that to me, I’m sure this time he actually meant it. I said I loved him too, and he was on his way not too long after.

“CASEY!” I said as I barged into our room. She was smiling at me while laying in her bed, reading some book.
“Yes?” She asked laughing a little at my entrance. I told her all about how Christa had pulled some strings and I was allowed out of here for the night. I told her that she could come along to the (what I guess was going to be a party) event, and she happily accepted. Before Christa left, she told me that the dress code was sort of like ‘clubbing attire’. I honestly couldn’t wait to leave this hell hole. Even if it was just for a day.
Julia’s POV:
