Simon's Daughter
Chapter 2
Julia's POV:
I woke up to an annoying Christa jumping on my bed.
"I hate you." I mumbled. I'm sure she could hear the annoyance in my voice.
"Love you too, Jules." she giggled and hopped off my bed, satisfied that she woke me up. I rolled my eyes at her and grabbed my phone from under my pillow. I saw that I had 1 unread text from my dad.
From: Dad
'Goodmorning sweetheart. I had a lot of work to do today, so I've already left. I'll be back later, have fun with Christa. Love you both. xx'
I sighed and got up from my bed stretching. I wasn't shocked or surprised at all. He's never here anyways.
"Okay well he already left, so wanna go to starbucks?" I suggested, still having a groggy voice. Christa agreed, and we both got ready for the day.
After we both finished taking our showers and got dressed, I decided to sneak up on Christa for revenge from this morning. She was doing her makeup which I thought was a perfect time to scare her, so she'd mess up. Suddenly, I jumped out behind her and she screamed, causing her to leave a streak of eye liner across her cheek. I laughed hysterically and she shoved me away.
"You're a bitch I hope you know that." Christa tried hiding her laughter but I saw right through her.
"Christa Isabelle Cowell. Watch your language." I mocked my father's voice from yesterday.
"Whatever." she grumbled and shut the door. I just continued to laugh and make fun of her.
~~~~~
We sat down at a table in Starbucks and drank our mochas. I was about to get up and throw away our cups when we finished, until I noticed Christa's worried face. "What's wrong, Christa?" I asked her, frowning. She pointed towards the entrance and there they were. One Direction. I knew they didn't know who I was, but I still couldn't let them see me. Just in case. We had to leave immediately. I grabbed Christa's hand and we rushed over to the trashcan.
"Shit." I muttered to myself. I left my phone at the table and rushed back to get it. Without looking up, I ran back to Christa, but I felt myself slam hard against something, causing me to almost fall. I felt someone's hand catch me, before my bum hit the floor. The kind person helped me stand up, and I brushed myself off. I looked up, and freezed. It was Niall who caught me. He stared at me with a smile.
"Oh, I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to-" he began to apologize, but there was no time for that.
"No worries, it was my fault. Sorry." and with that, I ran out with Christa by my side.
Niall's POV:
The lads and I walked into Starbucks, eager for a little caffeine to wake us up before we got to work. I pulled out my phone, going on twitter when I accidentally bumped into a stranger. Before she could fall, I caught her in my arms, and smiled at her. She was a very pretty girl, indeed. She looked worried, but I guess it was because she almost fell.
"Oh, I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to-" before I was able to finish apologizing, she cut me off.
"No worries, it was my fault. Sorry." She ran out with another girl quickly before I could say another word. I guess Harry saw her appearance too, because he was in a daze.
"Harry, snap out of it. It's not like you've never seen a pretty girl before." Louis stated, causing me to let out a small chuckle.
Julia's POV:
"That was a close one." Christa laughed. I stared at her emotionlessly because what happened wasn't funny at all. It was terrifying.
"Christa, that wasn't funny. If they find out who I am, my dad will probably kill me." I groaned, making my way to my car.
"I know, I'm sorry. I'm still a bit confused. Why can't they know about you? A lot of people already do." Christa asked.
"Because. You know my dad. Super overprotective. That's one of the reasons I've never had a boyfriend. He basically scares them all away." I rolled my eyes and approached my car. Christa got in on the passenger seat side, while I got in on the driver's side.
"Of course. I remember when we were younger and he didn't allow any boys to your birthday parties." We both laughed at the memory.
"But now I'm 17 and I will gladly invite whoever I want to my parties." I laughed and heard a 'ding!' coming from my phone. I picked it up and read a messagge from my father.
From: Dad
'Hey, Jules! You're still coming to the show today, right? xx'
Oh crap I forgot all about that. Today was the first day of the live taping of the X Factor.
To: Dad
'Yes, of course. Christa and I are on our way now. xx'
From: Dad
'Great! See you soon. xx'
~~~~~
We arrived to the studio, and met my dad backstage.
"So happy that you two could make it!" My dad greeted us and engulfed us in a hug. I forced a smile out, but he didn't notice. "The show doesn't start for about 20 minutes so you girls can wait in the dressing room until then. I don't want anybody seeing you." Wow. Thanks dad. He ushered us into his dressing room and we sat on the couch, sloppily. "Okay, girls I'll come get you in a few." He smiled, exiting the room.
"I honestly don't want to be here." I sighed, laying my head on Christa's shoulder. She pat my head probably not caring.
"Hey. We're not here for you. We're here to support your dad." Christa replied.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." I mumbled, taking my head off of her shoulder. How is she so happy? It might be 3 o' clock, but I still want to go back and lay in my bed.
"Well I'm going to the bathroom, babe. I'll be back in a minute." And there I was. Alone. Christa left me alone. This day is probably one of the longest days ever. Again, I would rather be sleeping right now. I rolled my eyes and turned on the television that was in front of me. I flipped through the channels, upset that there was nothing on. I heard the door open but I figured it was just his assistant or something.
"Hey Si-" the person cut themself off. "Oh, you're not Simon." they said. Well obviously. I'm a teenage girl. Wow, Julia. You have a bad attitude today. Oh well who cares.
"Nope, I'm not." I said bluntly. I looked up still not sure of who that person was. Right when I saw the person standing at the door, he was joined by 4 other guys. Uh-oh. What do I do!? What do I say!? 'Hi I'm Julia Cowell. You don't know me, but I know you. I'm Simon's daughter by the way.' No! I can't say that! Quick Julia, find a cover-up. "U-Uh I-I'm not sure where he is, sorry." I say, trying to hide my face by looking down.
"Well can we stay in here until he comes back? There were some fans sort of following us." I heard another voice say. I didn't bother looking up.
"Sure whatever." I mumble. I'm surprised they even heard a word I said. They all sat down on the couch beside the one I'm on. Before another thing happened, the door opened once more.
"Julia Anne-" before my father could finish my full name, he froze seeing the boys.
