Living Disasters
Chapter 1

Every time Niall brought home home takeout I knew he wanted something, so the second I smelled pizza I steeled myself for the worst. Niall was infamous for his wild, crazy and usually expensive ideas, from Paco, our Pomeranian puppy who was laying at my feet, to the juicer that laid unused in the kitchen. He was also notorious for bringing home strays be it people, fish or anything that looked at him sadly. It was a habit our small two bedroom flat couldn't handle.
"Honey I'm home!" Niall called out excitedly the bags hanging from his arm.
Looking up from my textbook at the thumping of Paco's tail I gave Niall a small smile and a glance at my book telling him not to disturb me. Niall sat in the chair across from us and started patting his lap trying to get Paco to come join him. The wiggling was annoying as Paco refused to leave my lap bouncing my textbook all over the place.
"Niall leave Paco alone." I ordered.
"You're supposed to be my dog." Niall mutter to Paco before he headed back towards his bedroom.
Fingers stroking Paco absentmindedly I tried to focus on the textbook and avoiding whatever Niall wanted to ask me now. I managed to avoid the inevitable for nearly an hour before Paco bounding off the couch told me Niall was back. He sent me a triumphant look as Paco sat on his lip eating the sausage from Niall's pizza out of his hand.
"Bribing him to sit on your lap are you." I stated with a bit of a laugh before seeing Niall's hurt expression. "It's not my fault he likes me more."
"How was school?" Niall asked and I could tell he was trying to make pointless small talk
"Decent I suppose but Dr. Hill is going to bloody kill me with homework. You?"
"Good."
Niall went to open his mouth to ask another random question when I beat him to the punch, "What did you want to ask me?"
Opening and closing his mouth a couple of times Niall stumbled over his words. He had obviously wanted a much smoother entrance. Niall was quite a bit of a sweet talker and I knew that if I gave him a chance to lead into it no way in hell would I be able to say no. Something about his pleading puppy eyes always had me giving in to whatever he demanded.
"So you remember Louis, my mate from home, I think I mentioned him a couple'a times. Well his band just broke up and he got a couple of offers from the area and well, he needs a place to stay so I told him he could crash here for a while."
I in fact did remember Louis as him and Niall's antics inspired most of Niall's stories. To me he had always seemed like a bit of a bum. Dropping out of college to join a band didn't seem to me like someone who was going anywhere. But Niall has made it obvious that he had already invited Louis without asking me first. Leaning over and grabbing Paco from Niall I pursed me lips.
"Where's he going to stay exactly?"
Niall shrugged his shoulders like he hadn't really thought it through before asking. It wouldn't surprise me if he hadn't Niall didn't have the best track record. Giving off a deep sigh I raised Paco to eye level.
"Daddy wasn't thinking again was he." I cooed.
Setting the dog down I looked up at Niall. He had a pleading look on his face that made my insides melt. Niall and I's relationship was perfectly platonic but he knew that there were some of his faces that I couldn't resist.
"He can stay on the couch. But only for a little while. Now where is that pizza you brought me."
Notes
Hey everyone.
So I was in the mood for writing a bit of dramatic fluff so welcome to living disasters. The first chapter is a bit short I know.
I don't know if I'll actually continue since my writing is shitty but oh well.
