Jessa’s POV

“Yea, we fly first class ‘cause of the band.” I shrugged. “So we can talk for a while.”

Zayn and I were Skyping while we waited to take off. He was keeping me company so I wasn’t too bored.

“That’s awesome. What’re you doing tomorrow?” He asked excitedly.

“Working.” I frowned as Jaime took the open seat next to me. “Hey Spike.”

“Hey, is this the guy Vic thinks you're dating?” He pointed and looked at the screen.

“Yea. Jaime, this is Zayn. Zayn this is Jaime, the guitarist for PTV.” I laughed introducing them.

“Hello.” Zayn mumbled nervously.

“Hey.” Jaime smiled and looked at me. “Good job.” He kissed my forehead before standing up to walk away.


“Have you guys been talking the whole time?” Jaime asked when he woke up after hours of sleeping.

“Yea. I woke you up ‘cause we’re about to land.” I looked back at my screen to see a very tired Zayn. “I’ll text you when I get home but don’t wait up.” He nodded and hung up.

Jaime laughed at me for a little bit. I buckled my seatbelt and took a deep but shaky breath.

“You okay Chica?” Jaime asked setting his hand on mine while I tried to relax.

“I hate landing, you know that.” I mumbled.

“I know, but everything will be okay. Just relax.” He held my hand until we landed.

“Thanks Jaime.” You know it’s serious when I call him by his real name. “I’m really happy you all came back with us.”

“Me too.” He was the nicest one in the band but we rarely got to hangout alone. “I know I didn't say much at your birthday party, sorry. I’d rather say it to you.” He paused seeing everyone else get up. “We can talk tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow?” I asked standing up after he did.

“I know you have plans today and tomorrow after work so we can talk whenever you get home.” He wa really understanding. “It’s not like I have any plans.”

“Okay.” I laughed. “Hey Spike?”

“Yes?” He chuckled.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.” He set his bag down and hugged me.

“Sis” I let go of him and saw my dad gesturing for me to hurry up. “You're so slow.” He complained jokingly so I slowed down until he nudged me.

I walked toward the door and tripped over Jaime when he stopped suddenly. He laughed and helped me up. My dad was in tears from laughing so hard.


Zayn and I talked everyday that I was gone. Whoever fell asleep first the night before, started the conversation the next day. We talked about the stupidest stuff.

I’m so excited to see him! Wait, am I starting to like him?

I shook the feeling and kept walking up the drive way. Zayn’s little sisters were sitting outfront on the porch. A smile appeared on both of their faces when they saw me.

“Jessa!” They shouted running toward me.

“Hey.” I laughed hugging them.

“How was San Diego?” Waliyah asked excitedly.

“Great.” I smiled looking at Safaa.

“You got tan.” She started comparing our skin. “You're darker than me now!”

“Yea, I know.” I laughed. “Is Zayn here?”

“Not yet.” Waliyah answered with a shrug.

“You look nice.” I looked down at my outfit while Safaa did the same.

“Thanks.” I wasn’t trying to look nice, I just didn't want to look super tired so I changed.

I made small talk with his mom and sister until he pulled up. He got out and greeted me with a hug.

“Dude, I missed you.” I mumbled into his chest.

“Same here.” He smiled letting go of me. “Wanna go?”

“Sure.” I turned to his family. “It was nice to see you again Mrs. Malik.” I waved and walked over to my car.

“This is yours?! It’s sick.” Zayn admired my car.

“Birthday girft from Mike.” I shrugged gesturing for him to get in. “The drummer.”

“Oh.” He nodded like he actually caerws about it. “So plans for today?”

“I wanna skate and I know Harry has at least 2 extra boards.” I was ready to beg if necessary.

“Sure, is he gonna come with us?” I nodded to his question. “Okay.”
