I didn't spend much more time second guessing myself because I fell asleep, not waking up until we landed. All of this flying is really wearing my out. It's great to be back in Connecticut...not. Especially because it's raining, hard. I contemplate staying in a hotel for the night taking into consideration the fact it's 1 AM and the non-cooperative weather. I want to get Simon and go back to the city, so despite my better judgement I get in my car and head on my way. At first, the car ride doesn't seem so bad until the rain comes harder and harder making it impossible to see. I am trying to focus on the blurry lights in front of me when I start hydroplaning, taking my foot off the gas pedal I try to steady the steering wheel
CRASH
*Liam's POV*
I'm about to go on stage when my phone rings. It's an unknown international number. I don't answer it assuming it's not important. I am putting the finish touches on my hair when Zayn runs into my dressing room.
"Sammy just called. You need to answer your phone. It's an emergency." I could see right through his calm exterior and I knew something was seriously wrong.
"What is going on?" I ask frantically.
"It's Ella...she..." - Z
"No." Before I can piece together what is left of my shattered train of thoughts my phone rings again.
"Liam this is Ella's mother." Her voice is soft and shaky "Ella has been in a car accident. She is in the hospital"
My mind is unable to process what she said because the knot forming in my throat is the size of fucking Jupiter.
"What the hell happened?" I ask
"She was on her way home from the airport and it was raining, really hard...she started hydroplaning, swerved off the highway, and crashed into a tree." I hear the terror in her voice
"Please tell me she is okay." I can barely put a complete sentence together.
"We don't know. The doctors haven't told us much. She has some serious injuries, and she is in a coma right now." Her mother says. I can tell she is crying now.
"I will be there as soon as I can." I tell her before hanging up.
Fuck I shout, throwing the phone on the ground and burying my head in my hands, and for the first time in my life I am sobbing tremendous, helpless sobs.
