There is only 30 minutes until midnight, and everyone is fired up. Liam and I have barely spoken since I got here because of how crazy it is. It's cold, but I've managed to stay warm with my coat, scarf, and gloves. There have been some incredible musicians so far. Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Lady Gaga have all performed. It's their turn on stage any minute, and I can only imagine how nervous he is. Eleanor and I are nervously looking at each other in anticipation.
"Now presenting One Direction!"
They come on stage looking confident as ever. My eyes go directly to Liam. He looks great, as always. It seems like there is some tension between him and Harry. They keep giving each other dirty looks. That's strange. From the second they start singing until the second they finish Liam doesn't stop looking at me. This is one of his many attempts to show me that he's sorry. It's working. A few minutes goes by, and there is 10 minutes until midnight. All of the sudden I feel hands around my waist. I turn around to see Liam's breathtaking eyes staring me right in the face.
"Jeez you scared me!" I squeal
"Sorry I didn't mean to." He says
"You were amazing up there." - E
"Thanks, I'm sorry I haven't gotten to see you a lot tonight." - L
"It's okay." - E
There is a long pause, and the awkwardness increases.
"I'm also sorry for everything that happened. That girl didnt mean anyrhing to me. I don't even remember her name. I shouldn't have offered to buy her a drink but I can promise you it was harmless. You don't think I would cheat on you..do you?" - L
"No I don't. I feel like you envy Zayn, Niall, and Harry because they are single and they can mess around with whoever they want wherever they want. And sometimes I feel like I'm holding you ba..." Before I can finish my sentence he interrupts me.
"Stop. I don't want you to ever think that. Why would I want to hook up with a bunch of random girls when I have you. You are perfect and I love you so fucking much. I want to be with you. I need to be with you." - L
"And I need you. These past couple of days have been awful." - E
"I am so relived to hear you say that. I actually thought it might be...over." I see tears start to form in his eyes.
He never cries in front of me. He buries his head in his hands. I pull him in for a hug, and I get the warm fuzzy feeling that I'm familiar with. I love this feeling.
"Ella I'm so sorry will you please forgive me?" - L
"Yes but don't do it again." - E
"Never. I'll make this up to you I promise." - L
It doesn't take long for us to realize that it's almost midnight. People are roaring and cheering all around us. It is so loud. The countdown is about to begin. The excitement is mounting as the time separating us from 2013 to 2014 gets down to a mere 10 seconds.
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2,1"
Liam's hands tightly hold my face as he kisses me passionateley. It doesn't take long before his tongue is intertwined in mine, and I finally feel complete again. I get butterflies in my tummy, and my heart is beating at 100 miles per minute. It feels like it's been forever. He pulls away leaving me wanting more, and we join in with the rest of the people wishing each other a happy new year.
"I can't wait to spend this next year with you, and many many many more I love you babe." He says
"Me too, I love you Liam."
