Win a Date With One Direction

Chapter 5: Date 4: Harry

"You look great," Harry said, handing me a single red rose. I had to put it in water, but all I had was an empty water bottle.

"Thank you, so do you."

I stopped short when we went outside.

"Where's the limo?" I asked, looking instead at a Honda Civic.

"No limo today. I rented a car for us today."

"Oh wow."

"Your chariot, love," he said, holding the door open for me. I ran a hand across the smooth leather interior. What a nice car. And it was blue, my favorite color.

He took me to Denny's for breakfast, and we ate pancakes until we were ready to explode.

"Ugh, I'm going to have to fast for a week just to burn off the calories I consumed this weekend," I said, holding my stomach.

He chuckled. "You have a long way to go before I would even consider you fat, but anyway, it's healthy for a woman to have a little meat on her bones."

"Where are we going?" I asked when we got on the freeway.

"It's a surprise." He gunned the engine and headed out of the city.

When I saw the signs about an hour later, my heart skipped a beat.

"Oregon? Really? You brought me here?" My eyes filled up with tears.

"This is where you grew up, isn't it? I had to google it, but with the GPS it wasn't that hard to find."

It was so weird seeing the town I grew up in after all this time.

"So where is a good place to start?" he asked. I gave him directions to the park where I used to hang out at after school. I pointed out different hot spots, like the library, local swimming pool, schools, post office, the house I grew up in, among others.

"Wow, look at this view from up here," he said as we got out of the car and went over to the bridge overlooking the river. I was very aware of how close he was to me, and I was afraid he would hear my heart thumping rapidly inside my chest.

"Penny for your thoughts," Harry said suddenly, his hand on my back as we stood in silence.

"I had my first kiss up here. I was 12. It was pretty weird." I realized he was staring at me, and I got lost in his emerald eyes. It was like he could see all the way to my soul. I realized I cared about him, I mean, really cared about him. We had chatted all the way up here in the car, and I felt like I knew him more than I knew anyone.

"Jenny," he whispered, and then his mouth was on mine. I tangled my hand in his soft brown curls, pulling him closer. I didn't hold anything back, I wanted to touch him and for him to touch me.

"Harry, I-" I didn't get a chance to finish my sentence because he pulled me over to the car so I could lean back against the car for support as he kissed me again.

"I've been wanting to do that all weekend," he said finally, as I gasped for breath.

"But you only met me three days ago."

"Your essay hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn't know what you looked like and I didn't care, I just couldn't believe that you had gone through all that at such a young age. I knew that I had to meet you, even if you didn't win the contest. That's how I got your number. That's why I rented the car instead of taking the limo, because I wanted to be alone with you. I never met anyone like you before, and I want to see you after this weekend is over."

"But how? You live in London, and I live near Chicago."

"I don't know, but we can make it work. I'll buy a house in Chicago if I have to. All I know is that I want to see you again, even after the weekend is over."

"I want to see you too, Harry. I want to see the other guys too, this has been such an amazing weekend, and I don't want it to end."

His shirt was unbuttoned at the top, and I saw the sparrow tattoos he had on each collarbone. I lightly traced one with my thumb, and he shivered under my touch.

"We don't have to rush into anything if you don't want to, love, we can go as slow or as fast as you want. I just don't want to lose you."

I reached up and cupped my hand behind his head and pulled him closer for a kiss, and he moaned against my lips as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Harry, we can't spend all day just making out," I complained as he tried to move in for another kiss.

"And why not? It's my date, if I want to make out with you all day, I will."

"But I wanted to show you my favorite hang out."

"I thought this was your favorite hang out," he teased, as we got in the car. I gave him directions to the local roller skating rink.

"A woman after my own heart. Although I prefer ice skating myself, but this is fun too."

We had a blast. I only fell down once, and in my haste to get up, I ended up bringing him down in a heap with me. We both laughed as we tried to get up. A couple of teenagers were staring at us, and I didn't care.

We shared a large pizza at my other favorite hangout, a local pizzeria that I used to go to all the time.

"Heather is going to have a field day with this one," I said as we headed back out to the car.

"Is that your room mate?"

I nodded. "We've been friends since preschool, and she's the one who talked me into submitting my essay for the contest."

"I'm glad she did, or I would have never met you." He leaned over to give me another kiss, this time his tongue asking for entrance into my mouth. I opened my mouth slightly to give him access, and he moaned against my mouth as his hands rubbed my back. We were crossing a dangerous line, but my body wasn't cooperating. He finally released me so he could start the engine.

"I know that you took a vow of abstinence, and I respect that. Even though I'm not a virgin, I won't hold it against you if you want to wait. I find it rather refreshing."

Every time I looked into his green eyes, I came close to throwing all my inhibitions out the window. I wanted to wait for marriage, but maybe I'd be willing to bend if the right guy came along.

I was sad to get back to Chicago and the hotel.

"Stay with me tonight, please. If I won't see you again for awhile, I want to at least hold you for the rest of the night. I promise to keep my hands to myself," he whispered.

The last time I slept in a bed with a guy was with my brother. I had no idea what to expect.

"I need my pajamas," I said.

"I'll wait," he promised, giving me a kiss on the forehead. "Just don't take too long."

I hurried into my room, grabbing my pajamas, pillow, and teddy bear. I then tiptoed back to his room and knocked softly.

Once I changed into my pajamas in the bathroom, Harry patted the bed next to me. He was wearing no shirt and a pair of sweatpants. All in all it had been a very exhausting but amazing weekend, and Harry was just the icing on the cake. I snuggled against his chest, inhaling his sweet scent. He smelled like a mixture of citrus and jasmine.

He softly hummed one of the band's songs into my ear. It was one of my favorites...You and I. I fell asleep with his lips against my ear and his heart pounding against my chest.

I groaned when I realized it was daylight.

"No, I don't want it to be morning already," I complained, moving closer to Harry. He chuckled and kissed me. He had morning breath, but I didn't care. I tugged on his curls as the kiss went on for several minutes.

"I'm going to miss you so much," he said, looking sad.

"Where are you guys going?"

"L.A. We have some TV appearances to do and then back to New York to finish filming two of our music videos off our upcoming album. Then we'll probably be done until New Years, when we have one final performance until we come back from break."

"Well you know where I live, so don't be a stranger."

He gave me his famous lopsided grin and embraced me as if he never wanted to let me go. The other guys were waiting.

"Harry, come on, we need to get going." The other guys gave me hugs too, and I kissed each one on the cheek.

"Here, something to remember me by," he said, taking off the silver ring he wore on his left hand. It had his initials on the inside of the band.

"My mother gave it to me."

"I'll treasure it always. Thank you." He kissed me one last time and then was gone. I hugged myself, not knowing if I would ever see him again. It had been one hell of a weekend, and I wouldn't have traded it for the world.

Notes

So there you have it, awww! Stay tuned for the sequel, called You and I. Will Harry and Jenny make it work? Or was it just a fling? Stay tuned!

@Call_Me_Godot Yeah, she's actually created after me. I'm terrified of heights, allergic to almost everything, and I lost my mother and brother when I was a teenager, so it's like I'm writing my life story, only using a fake name and adding One Direction in the mix lol. Thanks for reading!

Thankfully we close at 11 but I've had my share of drunks come in (some are our regulars who are older gents that just want to chat with everyone so those ones aren't so bad).

But holy crap, Jenny's a real person with real allergies and quirks >.> that's hard to find. Keep doing you :)

@Call_Me_Godot haha, yeah, I worked at one for four years, never again...I used to work the overnight shift and had to deal with the drunks at 2 am, and I worked there when the Powerball got up there. LOL thanks for the laugh.

@rocker_babe none taken, just thought I'd write something fun and upbeat for a change
