Win a Date With One Direction

Chapter 3: Date 2: Liam

Liam and I stopped for breakfast at Denny's before heading over to Six Flags, since it didn't open until 9. I'd had such a good time with Louis yesterday, and Liam was the prankster of the group from what I'd read on the internet. He once wrapped toilet paper around Niall's Range Rover for an April Fools joke, and he once pulled Harry's pants down onstage during a concert.

"You know Harry was the one who decided first to pick you, I mean after Louis read your essay out loud. Harry got this weird look on his face and then he suggested we pick you."

"Well I'll have to thank him when I see him." Liam reached across the table and took my hand, rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb.

I had spent the day yesterday staring into Louis' light bluish grey eyes, now Liam was studying me with his chocolate brown ones. I felt myself blush and look down at the table.

"Louis said you were shy, I find it comforting. It's nice to be on a date with a fan that doesn't scream in my face."

There was a crowd waiting to get in, but Liam put his sunglasses on so no one would recognize him. To most of the people there, we were just two normal people on a date to an amusement park. I gulped when I saw the roller coasters. I'm scared to death of them.

"Come on," he said, taking me by the hand up the ramp of the Batman ride.

"No way in hell am I getting on that," I said. He gave me a puppy dog look, and I finally gave in. I just closed my eyes and held on to his hand. We were strapped in tighter than a cocoon, but our feet were dangling down, and our arms were free.

"Whatever you do, don't let go of my hand," I hissed, wishing the ride was over.

"Breathe, babe," he said as the ride started up the incline.

I kept my eyes closed the whole time, and I knew when we were going down the first drop and upside down, because I could feel the rush of the wind on my face. I could hear Liam whooping it up beside me, but I wasn't about to open my eyes or else I would have heaved all over the place.

"Hey, Jenny, it's over," he said finally. I opened my eyes and realized the ride was over. Liam helped me get out of the car, and my legs were rubbery. My stomach was churning slightly too, but I survived.

"That was awesome, I wish they had rides like that back in London," he said, as we headed to a milder ride this time.

"Think you can handle this one?" he teased.

"The Bumper cars? Seriously?"

"You're going down, Cooper," he challenged.

"Bring it on, Payne. But I'm horrible at driving, so you better have some aspirin with you cause I'm gonna give you whiplash."

We were both laughing as we headed to the next ride, the Swings. Those I can handle, even though they're up in the air a little bit.

When I came out of the restroom, Liam held out a blue snow cone. He had bought himself a red one, but he bought me a blue one. He remembered earlier when I told him my favorite color was blue. We sat on a bench and ate them in silence.

"Your lips are blue," he said, laughing slightly. I licked at my lips, they were cold.

He leaned over and kissed me softly. I shivered. His lips were cold too, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the kiss.

A middle age couple was staring at us when we broke apart, and my face turned bright red.

"Ah, young love, remember when that was us?" the woman said as they walked away. I giggled nervously.

We ate a couple of corn dogs and some nachos at one of the food stands they had. Then we watched an animal show so our stomachs could settle, then it was back to the rides. We rode the American Eagle, and I hate wooden coasters, but I hung on to Liam for dear life as we roared down the track. My stomach was doing flip flops the whole time, and I wondered what the hell I had gotten myself into.

"Care to take a ride on the Ferris Wheel? Can't get much more tame than that," he said. I blushed, Louis and I had made out on the Ferris Wheel yesterday. Was a repeat performance in the cards? So far Liam had been sweet. He didn't mention a girlfriend, although I knew he dated one a few years ago when they first became famous. I remember him calling out the fans because of their hatred towards her. I shivered slightly. I felt bad for any girl that got involved with them, because of the fans.

"Dang, Chicago is beautiful from here." Off in the distance you could see the skyscrapers and the Chicago skyline. We were way up in the air, but I didn't feel afraid. Roller coasters just freak me out for some reason.

Liam rubbed his thumb against my cheek and smiled at me.

"I never noticed that you had pretty eyes before, even behind the glasses."

I sighed heavily. "I hate them, they make me look like a nerd."

"Nonsense, they just make you look smart. You're one of the first normal fans we've met. Most of them either scream or freak out when they meet us, but you tripped and almost fell out of the limo. That kind of awkwardness is surprisingly adorable."

"That's me, I occasionally trip. Over everything." My face was on fire now, how embarrassing.

I could see his eyes fluttering shut as he leaned forward to kiss me, and I tentatively touched the collar of his shirt as he moved closer, his lips moving with mine. He then kissed my nose, forehead, and closed eyelids before meeting my lips again.

"Can I give you my number so we can keep in touch after this weekend? I'd really like to see you again, even if only to talk."

First Louis, now Liam, what more could a girl ask for? I held out my phone, and he added his number into my contacts.

It was getting dark now, and the rides were all lit up. He held out his phone and snapped a selfie of the two of us. He took me over to the Tilt AWirl.

"Come on," he pouted, standing by the car and motioning me to get in. I finally gave in, and everything was fine until towards the end of the ride, when he started turning green.

He threw up in the garbage can after he stumbled off the ride. I felt bad for him, it had been such a good day, and now he was sick. We sat on a bench and I rubbed his back as he tried to calm his stomach.

"Sorry about that, I guess I ate too much today."

"No,it's been fun. I'm having a great time."

"I know just the thing to finish the date out." He pulled me towards a coin arcade, and it was a blast. My favorite game was Skee Ball, and his was the basketball game. He gave me his tickets so I could combine them and get something cool at the gift shop. I chose a rainbow slinky, a teddy bear that had a Six Flags Great America logo on it, and a collector water bottle with one of the rollercoasters on the logo.

I was tired but happy when I got back to the hotel. It had been a long exhausting day, and I still had two dates to go. I stood in front of the hotel room, biting my lip.

"Well, thank you for a fun night, and thank you for not laughing at me when I got sick," he said, taking my hand.

"There was nothing funny about it. And thank you for not making fun of me for being scared to death on a roller coaster."

He cupped my face in his hands and gave me a soft good night kiss. I turned to go into my room and was asleep before my head even hit the pillow. Two more to go...

@Call_Me_Godot Yeah, she's actually created after me. I'm terrified of heights, allergic to almost everything, and I lost my mother and brother when I was a teenager, so it's like I'm writing my life story, only using a fake name and adding One Direction in the mix lol. Thanks for reading!

Thankfully we close at 11 but I've had my share of drunks come in (some are our regulars who are older gents that just want to chat with everyone so those ones aren't so bad).

But holy crap, Jenny's a real person with real allergies and quirks >.> that's hard to find. Keep doing you :)

@Call_Me_Godot haha, yeah, I worked at one for four years, never again...I used to work the overnight shift and had to deal with the drunks at 2 am, and I worked there when the Powerball got up there. LOL thanks for the laugh.

@rocker_babe none taken, just thought I'd write something fun and upbeat for a change
