Emma's p.o.v

''I would have hoped for a longer skirt, but okay'' my mum said noticing my outfit as late as we walked in to our court hearing. Dad was seated on one side and mum on another while Louis and I sat on the benches behind them, not speaking at all. ''I want to start of with addressing the issue with the events that happened recently. How are you going to handle the kids acting out? With Louis' car crash and Emmeline being arrested for underage drinking'' the judge said and both mine and Louis' jaws dropped. ''Your honor, Louis' car crash was an accident and as for Emma...we don't tolerate drinking at all and she got grounded for it'' my dad defended us. ''This is not the first time one of your kids have been arrested for underage drinking. Louis was arrested, let's see.....one and a half years ago'' she said looking through some papers. ''I'm sorry your honor, but, we can not control our kids. They will do whatever they want to. All we can do as parents is show a good example and tell them that it's not acceptable. But we can not control what they do'' mum said and I could tell she was annoyed. ''Well let's move on the'' I guess the judge accepted that answer.

The judge said told everyone that there was no reason one of our parents shouldn't have joint custody but that since Louis and I are at the age we are we're capable of choosing where we want to live.
She also added that even if we choose to live at one parents house it doesn't mean that you're not going to see the other parent. ''Louis and Emma, you could come up here now and tell me your choice'' the judge said and we stood up, I walked pass our parents without looking in their eyes. I was focused on how I would say that I was going to live with dad. Of course I didn't mean what I said yesterday. Louis and I had made a decision together and we would live at dad's. ''I want to live with my mum'' Louis said and my mind went blank. I grabbed Louis' arm to not fall to the floor. ''Objection'' I whispered, this wasn't what we had planned. ''Objection'' I yelled, ''miss, you can't object'' the judge said ''are you okay? Miss Tomlinson?'' ''Em?'' Louis said grabbing my waist. ''I'm gonna pass out, get me out of here'' I said ''a short break, please your honor'' dad's lawyer said as Louis led me out of the room with our parents rushing after us.

I was lying on the floor as my dad held my feet up in the air. Apparently that prevents fainting or something. ''I got her water'' Louis said walking in to the little room behind the court room. ''I feel fine now, we can go out'' I said ''I don't think that's such a good idea, maybe the judge can come in here instead so you don't have to be up there in front of everyone considering you almost passed out'' mum said and went to talk to the people outside

I was now sitting on a chair with Louis beside me waiting for the judge. ''Why did you say that?'' I asked ''because you told me yesterday you wanted to live with mum. I made a promise we wouldn't be separated so I told them I wanted to live with mum'' ''god damn it, Louis'' I groaned ''I only said that because I was mad. We chose dad, together. And I'm sorry for making you turn down tour. You should go, I want you to go'' I said squeezing his hand. ''Emma I'm not going, I would be breaking my promise to you. Besides, you mean more to me than a stupid tour'' he smiled ''of course I do, I'm your sister'' I sassed ''but on a serious note, I want you to go. This is your chance, Lou. Don't waste it'' ''I promise I'll be home whenever I'm free, or you can come visit every weekend'' he said making me laugh. ''Every weekend? I might actually like having a break from you, you're a pain'' I joked, and he started poking me. ''Stop'' I said laughing, there was nothing more painful than to be tickled. ''Say you love me'' Louis laughed ''nope, never'' I giggled ''say it, or I won't stop'' ''okay okay, I love you Lou'' I said and he stopped. ''I love you too, baby sis''.

One week later

Mum's only wish for us to live at dad's was that once a week we'd have dinner with her, and maybe sleep over sometimes. So here I am, in my new house, in my new room with light purple walls big windows and a white door. Louis is happy because he now lives closer to all of his friends, I mean Niall is our next door neighbor. I'm happy because Harry lives one block away. If only there weren't two weeks left for them to leave for tour. I wonder how I will do by myself, but I've been hanging out a lot with Eleanor and she's a lovely girl. Eleanor and Lou have also been hanging out a lot, he really likes her. I thought about what I had told Harry, that he could decide until they leave for tour. Truth is, I love him so much I don't care if it takes a little longer for him to figure himself out. I know he loves me deep inside.

''Emma, Louis. Come outside please'' I heard my dad yell and went outside the house. Two new cars were parked on the driveway. ''I thought since the other car got...damaged, you two need a new ride'' my dad said and gave us each a key to our cars. ''Are you kidding me?'' Louis squealed, yes he squealed. ''Oh my god dad'' I jumped on dad to hug him and Louis did the same. ''Thank you'' we said at the same time. ''I wanted to give it to you earlier, but I didn't want you to think it was a bribe'' he said laughing, it was nice hearing my dad laugh again. ''Can we test drive them? I need to show the boys'' Lou asked ''of course buddy'' dad said before walking in the house. ''Go get El and we'll meet up in the park'' Louis said before we rushed over to the cars.

I sat down in mine and just breathed in the scent of new car. I drove to Eleanor who lived a couple blocks away before dialing her number on my phone. ''Hey girl'' she answered, ''hey, what are you doing right now? Do you wanna hang out?'' I said as I turned off the engine. ''Yeah, of course'' ''good, because I'm in your driveway'' ''no you're not'' she said and I saw her walking up to a window. ''I'm coming out'' she giggled and hung up. ''What are we gonna do?'' she asked as she jumped in the front seat. ''I was thinking scream at the top of our lungs to our favorite songs and then meet the boys in the park'' ''that's a very good thought'' El said and turned the volume up.

''This is why, this is why we crank the dial to the right. OOOOH, DIFFERENT COLORS'' we screamed to Walk the moon's song Different Colors. I pulled up on the parks parking lot and we broke in to laughs as I turned of the music. I looked over at Eleanor and got so happy because this was the friend I've always wanted. ''So I need to ask you something'' El said when we had calmed down, ''shoot'' I smiled. ''Would it be okay if I go on a date with your brother? It might be weird since the two of us are friends...but I think I like him and I really want to go on a date with him'' she spoke fast, something I had learned she does when she's nervous. ''This is great, El. I wouldn't mind. I like the idea of the two of you together...but it also makes it okay for me to date one of Louis' friends'' I said and started blushing. ''Oh my god, Emma. Who is it?'' El squealed ''Harry'' I smiled. ''What? Since when? Have you done anything?'' ''oh easy there with the questions, Missy'' I laughed. ''So I think we kissed the first time in September, Louis and I were pretty new in town. Then we flirted a lot for awhile until we kissed again on New Years Eve but then we decided to just be friends. It wasn't so easy though because we ended up kissing and sleeping in the same bed on our way back home'' I giggled remembering. ''Tell me more, have you had sex with him?'' she said all too excited. ''No'' I shook my head, ''we did do...something else though. On his birthday'' I said and once again got red in the face. ''Oh my god I love this. Why aren't you official?'' she asked ''he...it's complicated. W both have our issues'' I shrugged ''besides, Louis will kill him. But now if the two of you date he can't say anything'' ''true''.

''There you are, thought you had crashed the car or something'' Louis joked as we walked up to the benches all the lads were sitting on. ''Nope, that was you'' I smirked with a wink making everyone laugh. ''Well I wanna play on the playground, who's with me?'' Niall said standing up ''race ya there, Irish'' I said and sprinted towards the playground. We're such kids. All though Niall was quicker than me it ended with us falling in the sand laughing. The others walked up behind us laughing at our clumsiness. I stood up and ran over to the slide with Eleanor right behind me. We were being silly kids, and I loved every second of it.
