Only Ever You

“No, no and once again no!” I say to Anika getting louder each time.“Ashley I can’t deal with you moping around the house like this, please just talk to him for my sake!” Anika begs.
She stares at me pleadingly “Please?” she says one more time. “Fine” I groan reaching for my phone. She winks at me “No, need for that I already told him you want to meet him tomorrow at Starbucks” I roll my eyes and ask “Am I that much of a pushover?” in reply she just nods at me laughing at my predictability.

I want to go though, I do but I had to do something to make myself look less desperate!

A day later:

I am standing outside Starbucks tapping my heel nervously on the floor. Taking a deep breath I push forwards and am greeted by the strong smell of coffee I always associate with Starbucks. I see Luke’s blonde head immediately, he is chatting to one of the waitresses, my heart gives a squeeze as I see she is gorgeous and clearly interested in him. I swish my hair sassily and sweetly say to the waitress “Thanks for keeping my boyfriend company” I emphasise the word ‘boyfriend’ alot to get the fact that he is taken into her head.

But then I feel stupid, because really he isn’t my boyfriend at the moment. But I glance at him and see an amused glint in his eye, he isn’t exactly complaining. “Of course” the waitress sends me a completely fake smile, more of a grimace which I return. I glance at her name tag “Ill have a Latte Brooklyn” I say and she nods and walks away, making sure to ‘accidentally’ bump into me.

“So, Hi!” I say to Luke, and sit down opposite from him. “Hi, Ash” he says, so affectionately I relax, this is Luke and its not like i have anything to hide… apart from a few texts which I didn’t even reply to! “Ash, Im sorry about Valentines Day I totally over- reacted and didn’t even give you a chance to explain, so Im sorry.”

I hesitate for a few seconds before saying “All is forgiven Lukey, as long as you pay for my Latte” he chuckles and goes back to staring at the table. “You know I miss him” he says “Huh?” I ask “Calum, I miss him I just wish things could go back to the way they were with us, but I know I hurt him too much for everything to be okay.” I feel heat rushing to my cheeks because really this is all my fault, I honestly dont know what to say so we just sit in silence.

“I dont feel the same way Calum feels about me Luke” I whisper to him because he looks so alone and dejected “Remember I chose you” I grab his hand from across the table and feel a warmth that I never could receive from anything else.

I know kind of a filler chapter! but more exciting things are coming I promise!
