Only Ever You

Ashleys POV:

I will never live this down. Austin lets out a load wolf whistle as I enter the class “So whats your boyfriends name Miss?” he asks to chuckles and giggles. I am tomato red “This is not the time or place Austin” I hiss back, walking up close to his desk.I was already having a bad day, and this is so not helping. I decide then and there that this class has become far too relaxed around me, so much so that I am not receiving the respect other teachers are shown. Take Mrs Williams, the most feared teacher in the school, no student would dare ask her about her private life.

“Thanks to Austins hilarious comments about my private life you will all be expected to write an essay about what you know so far about Jane Eyre, you can all thank him for that, its due in tomorrow.” There are groans and sighs as my students glare at me. I really dont understand them sometimes, its not my fault my day is going so badly and Austin is behaving out of order!
The only one who doesn’t look annoyed is Andie, but then against would take alot more than an essay to annoy her she is that upbeat. There is a loud knock that interrupts the class silently hating me. I walk to the door and in steps a worried looking girl, with black hair, with hints of red. “Miss Irwin?” she asks uncertainly. I smile back at her trying to reassure her “Yes, thats me and you are..” I consult my register “Dani?” I ask her. She nods shyly as I carry on smiling.

“So where shall we sit you Dani?” I ask. I’m really asking myself but Austin, ever helpful decides to answer “Well Miss, theres only one seat in the room” he dramatically gestures to the empty seat beside him. “Oh Dani” I smile sympathetically at her “There does only seem to be that seat left, I’m afraid you’ll have to deal with Austin, feel free to kick him under the table if he gives you grief!” She cracks a small smile, and the class chuckles, I roll my eyes so now they like me again?
Dani takes her seat beside Austin, looking slightly embarrassed at the attention. I turn back to the board “Right you rowdy lot, lets dive into the fantastic world of Jane Eyre once more!”

I guess the reason why I wanted to go back into teaching was just this, the look of happiness in the childs eye when they understand something. I just love giving back to a child what I would loved to have had when I was younger, being around so many happy, and yes annoying faces just helps me see the good in the world everyday, its what I get out of bed every morning for.



I dont know what to expect, Anika has plenty of ideas, I was at her house after school when I got a text from Luke telling me he was taking me out some place nice to eat dinner tonight. “He is so gonna propose!” she keeps gushing flashing her diamond ring in my face. I am again reminded of her ‘so absolutely perfect’ relationship with Antony her fiancee “He just has to” she continues “You two are just like so in love and everything, and I dont see you as much as I used t before, he steals you away from me!” She catches the upset look on my face and looks worried “Ash, Im just kidding?” I know she’s just kidding, but I hate being reminded that all my friends are moving on with their lives, getting proposed to, and I’m just waiting for Luke to catch on.

“Its just Im worried that Luke's not so into me anymore” I admit, she gawks at me “Ashley are you freaking kidding me? Have you freaking seen the way he looks at you, are you freaking nuts?””Okay you can stop saying freaking now” I say raising my hands and smiling at her. “Ash, Im serious Luke adores you and honey there does not need to be a ring on your finger to prove that.
I reach for her and tightly hug her “Never leave me I love you Ani” She shakes her head at me

“Love you too you sappy little thing.” She gently wipes a tear from my face “Now come on girl! We have a date to prepare you for and no amount of concealer will help you if you have puffy eyes!"
