YOU AND I

“Hey, lads. Took you long enough, ” It was Louis. Zayn and Liam were there too.

“Yeah, me and Harry just got caught up in a little conversation. Well, now here we are,” Niall said.

“Guys, guys, stop already. It’s been months since we’ve seen each other and this is how we greet each other?” Liam interrupted.

“It’s only been two months really,” I said with a cheeky smile.

“Oh, shut up Harry,” Liam said and we hugged each other.

“Zayn, you okay? You’ve been unusually quiet today,” Niall asked.

“What? Yeah, yeah. I’m good,” he stammered and it was clearly obvious that he was trying to hide something from us. We just stared at him till he confessed.

“What? Really nothing guys. It’s jus- it’s nothing. I’m fine,”

“Oh, really?” Louis cocked his eyebrow.

“Fine. It’s Bella. We sort of got into a fight last night. And I don’t know I think so we broke up,” Zayn winced and looked at us.

Niall and I exchanged a look. Louis and Liam, they were just standing still, not sure how to react.

“Oh, are you okay?” Liam was the first respond.

“Well, you know what. That’s the weird thing. I’m totally okay, maybe just upset that we broke up. But other than that, I’m totally fine. I guess I saw it coming,” he just shrugged.

I nudged Niall and smirked. He just shoved me off.

“Hey, what’s going on between you two?” Louis saw us.

“What um, nothing,” Niall said, hoping Louis would just let it go.

But knowing Louis, he wouldn’t, “What nothing?”

“Um, Harry stepped my shoe,” Niall lied.

I just rolled my eyes but Niall ignored me. Seriously, stepping a shoe? Even a 2-year-old kid could come up with a better lie. But before Louis could ask anything else, the bell rang, signalling us to gather at the hallway. It was a first day school thing. We had to gather at the school hallways, for our headmaster to give us a welcome speech and then start off our days. Niall and I managed to get some time alone before gathering.

“So, now what?” I asked Niall.

“Why are you asking me? For your information, you are the one with the relationship problem, not me! And I’m just trying to help you out here,” he said.

“Hey first of all, it’s not even that much of a problem. We just didn’t talk over the summer. And she lied to you about calling me when she didn’t,” I said calmly.

“Oh god Harry. Fine, we’ll just wait for Zayn to be back to his old self and the five of us will talk about it, okay?”

“Hey, there’s no need for that,” I said mostly to myself as he had run away before I could say anything. Fine, let’s just see what happens, I thought to myself and lined up at the hallway.
