The begining of something new
Bad News
Lucy's P.O.V
Eloise and I are walking in silence in the cold on the way to school. Every few moments, she looks up to me, to see if I'm going to say anything. But I just can't bring myself to tell her. And she knows not to test the waters. Just before we turned the bend in the few of school Eloise grabbed my arm and yanked me back. She stared me in the eyes to suggest its either now or in front of everyone at school.
"Fine" I groan, "Okay well brace yourself El, I know you said it doesn't affect you, but it's going to hurt, ready?"
Eloise's P.O.V
What on earth is Lucy talking about. I stare at her suspiciously trying to figure it out but nothing comes to mind. "Alrighty then I guess, shoot for the stars" I say confidently.
Luc stares at the ground, expecting it to swallow her up, I grab her shoulders, shake her a little and desperately whisper "Spill..."
"Yeah, you know Jared?" She said preparing her shoulder for me.
Then it all hits me. "Yeahhh..." I say trying not to guess the bad news, but knowing in my gut what it is.
"Well he asked another girl to formal honey, her name is Tiffany, apparently they are officially seeing each other as well... Sorry El, I should of told you earlier but I didn't know how"
I know I'm not suppose to be affected since we never had a thing, but I thought there was potential, I guess I'm reading the wrong book. I laughed at her trying to hold back the tears. I know who tiffany is, she's the new girl in the music class, the only class I have with Jared. "It's fine, we had planned to go together anyway, right?" I slowly forced out of me. But Lucy can read me like a book, but she went along with it anyway. "Yeah" Linking her arm with mine and turning the bend to see the gates of Hell just a few yards in front of us. And who else was swinging on the gate? But Johnny, the schools most sportiest and hottest student, but he was fully up himself, rumours spread so quickly in the few minutes before the school bell that he had broken up with his girlfriend, Rachael, as her parents moved away over the break. When the bell finally rang we had to walk past him, still arm in arm with Luc. He looks us up and down, scoffing "Lesso's keep yourselves off of each other" pausing to look us up and down from behind "And Lucy if you snap out of your Lesbian phase, maybe you'll take up my offer to go to formal with me"
Lucy turns to look at me gobsmacked, silently squealing, but then pulls herself together and snaps back"Tell me how it feels by yourself" Everyone in the yard stopped dead in their tracks, including me. No one was expecting that, but then again she did it for me, doesn't want to leave me alone formal night, what an amazing friend she is. But then it hits me, I have Music first up, with Jared.
