Summer Sky | L.T.

The landing wasn't something I wanted to talk about, as I fell flat on my bum, god that hurt a lot. I ran to my house, as I really needed to discuss things with him. I really wanted to get sober again and I know I have Sky to thanks for that. She made me realise that I really don't have to be that person and I really want to help her even if she doesn't admit that she needs help.

She clearly has a lot of issues and some guy did something to her and I needed to know what that was. The only way I was going to find out, is getting close to her and the only way that will happen is if I stay of the drugs because she wouldn't let me come near her if I kept taking drugs.

I barged into my dads room, scaring the living daylight out of him, as I really threw that door open. "What's wrong?" my dad jumped out of bed and ran over to me but stopped when he saw that I was perfectly fine. "God you gave me a scare son. Do you need something, is Sky all right?" My dad pretends that he doesn't really care but this proves the complete opposite. "I'm fine but I don't know about Sky to be honest." I sat down in one of the chairs that was in my dads room. "Why do you say that?" he asked me whilst sitting opposite of me.

"She called you to tell you I was with her right?" I looked down at my hands but I felt him looking at me "Yes she did." I nodded and took a deep breath before continuing.
"You see here is the things, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw her lying in her chairs, she didn't want to share the bed with me, which is fair I guess but I didn't want her to lie there so I got up and lifted her and she went into a right fit and when she finally was calmed down and asleep in her bed, she woke me up again but the things she was yelling in her sleep. It shocked me dad, I think someone abused her sexually but I can't prove anything but it really bothers me." I still didn't look up that is until I felt my fathers hand on my shoulder.

"If you need to find out then there is only one option, make her trust you, so instead of being a asshole to her, maybe you should try and play it nice gain her trust and maybe then she will tell you." He had a valid point to be honest but I hadn't been nice to girls since I hit puberty, I mainly just used them for my own purposes although never without consent though, I wasn't that kind of monster.

"Thanks dad." I walked back to my room and took a quick shower. I needed to see her again and I don't know maybe apologize to her. When I was done showering I quickly brushed my teeth and put on some black skinny jeans and a sleeveless T-shirt and I put on some flip flops, don't judge but they are just really comfortable! I walked towards her side of the house, when I noticed that the shed was open.

I know they stored their bikes in that shed so I just had to see if something was missing. I walked up to it and saw that there was one bike missing indeed and that's when I remembered something Lucian had told me once about his niece, she loves to take pictures and what's better then taking pictures with a sunrise in the South of France in the summer. I grabbed a bike and left a small note, which said that Sky and I had taken two bikes.

I cycled as fast as possible, didn't want to be all out of breath when she sees me, that would just be pathetic. I know exactly were she went, as there is one point where you can watch the sunrise at it's best and that was on top of that huge cliff. From that cliff you could see almost everything and the most beautiful thing to see was the Mediterranean Sea, you could also see the city awaken.

When I finally arrived I searched for her and was happy when I had finally spotted her. She was completely focussed on the sunrise and the way the light touched her, was just breath taking. It was like she belonged on the cliff watching over the sea so see if her lover would ever return.

Not really sure where that came from but there you have it, she just makes me a romantic sob. I walked over to her, she didn't noticed me though which wasn't all that weird. "It's beautiful isn't it?" I said whilst taking a seat next to her. She totally ignored me for a few minutes so I decided to watch the sunrise with her when she suddenly spoke. "You know, it's really rude to just disappear without so much as a word." She said and I know she was right but it was just easier. She kept eyes fixed on the horizon and I kept watching her, as she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. I didn't know why I didn't see this before but something in her made me want to protect her.

"Do you want to know, what you said in your sleep?" I asked. This grabbed her attention as she turned towards me. She pulled her left eyebrow up in the most cocky way ever, this made me chuckle. "Of course I want to know what I said." She also told me that I couldn't hold it against her as she doesn't have control over her dreams, silly girl as if I would hold anything against her.

"You know when I asked you what happened to you and you said it was none of my business?" she nodded "Well I think you had a nightmare because you kept begging them to leave you alone." That's why I was waking you up because it scared the hell out of me. She paled instantly as if she had expected this. "I maybe a douchebag but that doesn't mean I will ever hurt you." This I meant, well I would never physically hurt her because let's face it even if you try really hard there is always that moment when you do hurt the ones you care about.

She was already overthinking her answer, I know she made the choice of not trusting me the moment she opened her mouth. "Look Louis, I really don't want to talk about it, it was just a nightmare, people have them all the time, I'm no exception to that, so please just leave it alone!" she got up and walked towards her bike. "Wait, Sky!" I knew what I had to do and hopefully she went along with it, as I really could use her help even if it's just to stay clean,

"Can we start over? I mean I can't promise I wont be an asshole but I really want to try." I said before she started to move again. She gave me a look, which only meant that she pitied me and something in me didn't like that at all. . "Louis you are an addict, how on earth do you think this is going to work?" Yeah why don't you rub it in again, damn it.

"You don't have to rub it in my face to whole time, I will manage." I told her a bit annoyed that she pulled that move on me. She was studying me and at some point you could see she had an idea. "I will hang out with you but only when you are sober." Damn, I knew that it was an idea like that, she really didn't like drugs but how was I going to survive without them. This meant I had to do it behind her back, which was not good.

I needed a minute to rethink this whole thing. Maybe it wasn't worth it, she was just another girl in the end even if she was really beautiful, no I needed to get my act together and I needed her so I could at least give it a try right? "I probably can give it a try" Her mouth dropped, as she didn't expect me going a long with it. Her response was a bit offensive as she asked me if I really was willing to give up drugs just to hang with her. This made me genuinely smile at her and this made her widen her eyes in shock as I hadn't smiled at her from the moment I met her, so this was a new for her and I saw the internal battle, I just had to push her over threshold. "Yeah I will try.' I said to her and her mouth opened and closed again as she wanted to say something but the only things that came out of her mouth was "Okay. I will see you later then." She waved quickly at me and got on her bike.

The moment she was out of view my phone went off, it was my dad. "Hello?" My dad was stunned that I had picked up. "Louis, is Sky still with you?" How did he know that Sky was with me in the first place? "No she just went home, why?" I was beginning to get a bit worried, as he really sounded anxious. "Because Marie is here with me and she found a bottle of Xanax in Sky's bag, do you know anything about that?" Was he really asking me this? That was just a really low blow! "Yes because I of course gave her that. No of course I don't know anything about that."

"I'm sorry Lou, it's just you know." He was stuttering, he felt bad about that one. "Okay so there must be a reason why she is taking them right?" I was thinking out loud and then it hit me. "I think I know why she is taking them, remember what I told you this morning?" I waited for him to remember. "Yes, about her being abused by someone?" my dad recalled and I nodded. "Yes that's what I mean, it must have something to do with that." I said whilst pacing in front of him.

"Wait, abused, how do you know that Louis?" I didn't expect my dad to put me on speaker but apparently he did, as it was Marie who asked that question. "Uhm, yeah I stayed over last night and she was having nightmares and by the sound of it, I got the feeling she was abused." I quickly explained, I heard Marie gasp on the background. "Look I will go by the house to talk to her okay, just wait before you ask her about it." I got on my bike after I had hung up and raced back home.

When I ran into her room, her aunt had already dropped water over her head, why I didn't know but Sky was looking at her aunt well not really at her aunt but at the bottle of pills in her hand. Her aunt tried to provoke her into telling what had happened to her, which wouldn't work.

You can't force someone to tell their deepest secrets not even when you have in your possession the thing they need the most. I slowly took a few steps so I was standing near to Sky, without her noticing it because I know what her aunt was going to do and my thought were confirmed when she walked into the bathroom, she was going to throw the pills away. I quickly put my arms around Sky, as she tried to get into that bathroom. She was begging her aunt not to do it but Marie didn't listen and that's when the crying started. I turned her around in my arms and hold her. I had never seen so much despair from someone.

"It will be all right, we will help each other, okay?" I tried to sooth her but she only cried harder. I kept rubbing her back whilst she buried her face into my chest it was heart breaking. I looked at her aunt who looked at us and I saw nothing more then pity and sadness on her face, she didn't want to do this but she felt like she had no other choice.

"Sky, we will help you get back on your feet, I promise." Her aunt told her but instead of looking at her aunt she turned her eyes towards mine , I saw it unfold in front of my eyes, her eyes rolled back and that's when she fainted.

"SKY?!"
